McCain is done. He is not the president myself or anyone who had the issues my community has. All he cares about is making sure people who are doing just fine keep all their money. McCain never addresses the issues he is only intrested in attacking to Obama instead of addressing the issues.

John McCain is a bitter old man who looked tired and sad.

Barack Obama is a vibrant young man who looked presidential.

This was John McCain’s best performance of the debates. Hands down. It was his best night.

And Barack Obama OWNED him!

The look on John McCain’s face when Obama told Joe Plummer how much he’d be fined “ZERO!” was an instant classic!

Was it shock? Was it stunned oblivion? Was it “what just hit me?”

McCain got his clock cleaned.

I almost felt sorry for him. But I didn’t.

How can McCain pretend to support programs like education, child health care and medical research while he promises a freeze on program spending in the same breath? I need someone to explain how you can invest in federal programs while suspending funding. (investing being the key word here)

I thought Mccain did much better in this debate than in the ones in the past. However, listening to his responses was like watching someone attempting ot herd kittens. He could not stay on point and was evasive.

Mccain reminded me of the old guy next door who was upset that my baseball landed in his fornt yard.

Obama was measured in his responses though seemed to become agitated at Mccain’s interuptions of his replies.

Obama was clear in laying down his plans while Mccain was sketchy and seemed intent to attack rather than answer.

I wanted to hear what these candidates would do for me and this country. Obama was the clear winner and he earned my vote tonight.

It is sad to see Obama try and back-pedel. I am in middle class America and if I work hard for my money, why should I be taxed higher than those who feed off my tax dollars? Vote Obama if you like living off the government!

I’m glad Obama was able to address the personal issues that McCain have been making. Even after Obama defended himself, McCain said he was lying. Never satisfied. McCsin was suprised to hear he was wrong about Obama’s healthcare plan (facial expressions). By the way, is Joe six-pack and Joe plumber the same person?

Thank goodness that’s the last debate!

I couldn’t stand to watch John McCain get his nose rubbed in it another time. He’s not in Barack Obama’s league. McCain is a light weight (an old, tired, out of shape light weight) getting blown away by a young, strong, tip top shape heavy weight.

This is a mismatch of historical proportions. And the results in November will document this fact.

Obama will blow him away.

Big Time.

Obama brings home the WIN once again. The only difference was he wiped the Lipstick off of McCain this time, and made him turn Joe sixpack into Joe Plummer???

If there was any doubt remaining, it was completely dispelled tonite. John McCain is a Karl Rove, lying, dishonorable Rethuglicon. He and his party do not deserve my vote. His lame attempt to connect Obama to Ayres came across as bitter and ham fisted. If Obama can be linked to supporting a “domestic terrorist” then McCain can be linked to supporting Communists. McCain worked, slept, and talked to them for five years while in Vietnam. Of course, that’s completely ridiculous as is tying Obama to Ayres. I’ll remember in November. Will you?

True to their tactics, Rethuglicons will continue to repeat this lie until it becomes accepted as the truth. This is a brainwashing technique used to get people to believe something they would otherwise reject. No wonder McCain will carry Georgia and many other Southern states. Their racist leanings already make them suspicious of anyone that’s black. Very easy pickings for the Rethuglicon party.

When you vote Rethuglicon, you vote against your own best interests. And McCain’s desparate attempt to smear Obama is living proof.

McCain looked pathetic tonight.

It’s over.

I’m taking the sign out of my yard and the bumper sticker off of my car. McCain has lost this election. And it won’t be close.

McCain isn’t as eloquent and as polished a politician as Obama, but he spoke from the heart and was believable on all of his points. We were expecting more from Obama, but he didn’t deliver. O’s closing statement gave us a creepy feeling of doom. We’re about “sacrificed” out here. Responsible?? What the hey does that mean??? Gawd!!!

Obama won the debate. All McCain wants to do is attack with negative. He is behind because he supported the idiot in the White House, people are not swallowing negative attack ads and the Republicans don’t have any other options, and McSane is old and out of ideas. You guys in my home state of GA need to do the right thing and put Obama (fresh and new) in the White House.

Oh my god, 99% of you people are insane…you actually would vote for Chairman Mau Obama? Wake up. You obviously have fallen into the hype that your saviour, Obama is going to get you some feebees! NOT raise your taxes. You will get to reap rewards off SUCCESSUL PEOPLES SUCCESS! How sad…how about YOU make the right choices in your own life, take chances, risk it all, open your own business, hopefully be a success, then come back and see if you feel higher taxes will HELP your risk, or HURT. See if you then want to “spread YOUR wealth around. I am floored so many people are so lazy, and willing to live off those of us that that have already suceeded. The bottom line is this. If you are PRO more gov’t and distribution of wealth, Obama is your guy. If your PRO CAPITALISM ( know what that is?) and getting to choose your own path, McCain is your man. God help us all should Chairman Mau Obama take office!

McCain definitely exceeded expectations, maybe they gave him speed before the debate…he kept fumbling his words and looked like he was going to explode…but hey, at least he didnt look like a corpse like he did in the last debate!

McCain contradicted himself so many times talking about deregulation and “looking at the records.” He knows his supporters dont do research!

Obama actually stands for something, and it is a good thing to have a reality check from time to time. Change is more than a slogan. It is motivation and hope!

McCain did his best tonight. It is too little, too late.

The ten minutes spent on the John Lewis comments took ten minutes away from what is important to the average American. Spending that time on Lewis gave credit to those comments. It should not have been mentioned.

McCain’s comments about not being Bush were on point. But, again, too little, too late.

I think McCain’s comments about Palin’s passion for autism were playing on voter sympathies. Did not work for me. I agree autism needs more research. However, juvenile diabetes runs in my family. If one of Palin’s children had diabetes, would this be the focus of her appeal? I think all childhood diseases should receive more attention.

All the fat cats in government will get even fatter if you elect McCain. Pali? I won’t even go there. You know, it amazes me that Obama can smooth talk his way out of associations with shady characters like: Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers and funding Acorn, which is now accused of voter fraud. People just don’t care, I guess. What has he actually accomplished? “Change” We will see how he changes when he gets in office and we will say, “what were we thinking?”

Obama is a bad person with no back up for anything that he claims to support. He has done nothing of consequence to earn my vote or respect. The educated voter will look at tonight’s debate and see where both candidates did well but can’t deny that Obama was backtracking and stuttering most of the night. Close but a solid McCain win.

The drunken “I didn’t inhale” democrat will spout some incoherant babble about how great Obama is right before they pass out on the floor.

John McCain continues to look like an angry troll, his frail attempt at a smile looks like a painful grimace as he grits his teeth. He appears content to be petty, talks and ancillary nonsensical issues about which none of us are interested, and refuses to acknowledge the failure of the Bush policies that he supported 97% of time. On the other hand, Obama appeared in command of subject matter, lucid, correcting without the attack—and presidential. He was even able to pay Palin a genuine compliment in the face of her Air-headed attacks of him. Obama will win on a landslide!

Chairman Mau…Chairman Mau…didn’t he “pal around” with Stahlen, Crooschev and Kastrow?

Seriously…do you know what your repeated misspelling of MAO tells me? It tells me that you’ve never in your life READ anything about the topics you are ranting about. It tells me that your information is derived soley from auditory sources, like talk radio or radical right-wing television broadcasts.

Really, simply put, any decently educated high school student would know the proper spelling of the name of one of the most imporant historical figures of the 20th century.

This leads me to conclude that everything you say is tainted by sheer ignorance of…well…anything remotely resembling political thought and education. But please. Continue to tell us that we don’t know what capitalism is. Perhaps you can enlighten us?

As a Marketing doctoral student, I’m dying to hear exactly how your opinion compares with, oh, let’s be basic - Adam Smith’s description of the Market and Capital?

Libs love uneducated voters that want the governement to provide for them…so does the AJC. I don’t listen to surveys, polls or message boards. I’m educated and believe in democracy (not socialism) and believe that people that have cell phones and cable TV but can’t pay their mortgage are living the American fantasy not the Dream. I hope Obama get s you your check…just like Ken Nugent…the rest of us will continue to work hard, live within our means, and strive for genuine happiness instead of just keeping up with the Joneses. I’ll tell you one thing, if it was between me choosing a cell phone, plasma TV or SUV…or my kids having a roof over their head…I’d choose the latter and not excpect others to bail me out.

“S”, yea thats it, I am ignorant. Thats why I have a multi million dollar corporation that I started myself with my own capital, risked it all, took the leap of faith that I could be successful, have since hired and employee over 100 people……yea that’s it, I am ignorant.

How about this logic. Maybe I am concerned that Chairman Mau Obama does not think that my “contribution” of about 35-40% in taxes each year is NOT ENOUGH. That because I earn over $250K I am considered, the “evil rich”, tand should be willing to “share the wealth”, “spread it around”. Who in their right mind would start a business with all that is at stake, and do so knowing that their success will have to be shared in UNEQUAL % basis to help fund losers, or sorry, “less fortunate” as “you people” like to refer to yourselves as. Its simple. I am for LESS Gov’t and PRO CAPITALISM. Suck on that and don’t forget to ask if your next person in line would like fries with their Hamburger.

McCain’s campaign (you know the one – capitalize and prey on the fears of paranoid, extremist right-winged Americans who just don’t know any better) just backfired on him!

McCain’s typical diversion tactics of making personal attacks against Obama and evasion of the real issues only bring to light the weakness and desperation of his campaign and his politics!

McCain’s no maverick. He’s more of a steer! What an emotion reck.

Obama’s a true diplomat. He met McCain’s attacks on his character with fierce rebuttal, and put the debate back on track to address the important issues that really matter to the people of this great nation!

Hey sl,

I’ve done all those things. Worked hard, lived beneath my means, saved, been charitable and paid my taxes without too much complaint (who do you think pays for our soldiers, VA, police, fire, etc. IT HAS VANISHED UNDER THE REPUBLICANS!

My husband and I are BOTH unemployed, with no good prospects and no healthcare. A slip in the shower could bankrupt us! All we have left - which is disappearing daily - would be wiped out.

YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN DEATH AND DESTITUTION. We are college educated, white collar, very frugal people. To you I say, walk in my shoes. I am so tired of the self-righteous, sanctimonious, the “do-nothings want my money” tirade. I want MY money!!

So…you can’t actually describe Smith’s interpretation of the Market? You can just rant about how you love capitalism (which, as a student of BUSINESS I also embrace) and how I must serve french fries to people?

I love when people who can’t spell common words claim to be multi-millionaires. It always entertains me.

By the way - how exactly do you define me as “less fortunate”? Not only am I being paid to attend graduate school - because of my consistent level of academic acheivement and multiple years of succesful work experience in the private sector between degrees, but I will be eventually entering into a market where the average starting salary is $113K?

Truly - people like you crack me up. You rant and rave about things that you claim to be expert on, yet obviously lack even the basic skills required to hold said expertise.

Good luck in fantasy-land!

It appears “spelling” and “grammar” are not required to “have a multi million dollar corporation” these days. But one wonders what exactly “employee over 100 people” means.

If you are really “for LESS Gov’t and PRO CAPITALISM” then what’s your opinion of the republican party and its stewardship over the last eight years? Biggest expansion of the federal government in history. Largest intervention in private markets in history.

Please, (not) ignorant one, explain it to us so we can understand.

Eight years of GOP fear tactics, testosterone-charged leadership and xenophobic policies may definitely be coming to an end for a while, so that our country can move forward AGAIN. I’m a line voter, so I’ll be voting Democrat, yet again. That said, I liked McCain, until the Republican Party got their claws in him and twisted his entire political perspective. It was actually zombie scary watching that transformation for the last year or so.

On the bright side, Obama is a Democratic candidate that I finally like. Joe Biden, another good man. Finally there is a pair of good candidates presented on my side of the ticket that I can vote for. It’s time to pass along the administration to a younger energetic individual, because, that’s what it’s going to take with everything America has going on today. Healthcare, economy, war, foreclosures… Obama will age quickly in these times in office should he take the helm. Sadly, I feel that McCain not gaining office would be doing him a favor for his service to his country to date.

McCain needs to throw in the towel, he doesn’t care about the poor and middleclass people, he only cares about the ones that have money and can afford to keep health ins and that is making it, he doesn’t care most of us that lost their jobs within the past year and don’t if we can pay our bills next month. He needs to send Palin back to Alaska and try again in 4 years, he’s done.

Um, JW, the socialism has already occurred, and in a very big way. Republicans have bankrupted our country. Yes, this is my country too. They’ve looted the Treasury, sort of a Robin Hood in reverse. They robbed me, and they’ve robbed you. The first time, they just snookered us. This time, because they knew how gullible we are (some of us), they came back to finsh cleaning us out.

Didn’t you ever wonder back in ‘05, when all those Wall Street high rollers were raking in Billion (note “B”) dollar bonuses, where that money came from? Well, it’s gone now, and you know what? They’re laughing at you all the way to the Caymans, or Switzerland, or wherever they’ve stashed it.

Let me be blunt. I’ve made money, and a fair bit of it. It’s been stolen by the folks who’ve distracted you for 7+ yrs., with God (whom I still pray to), guns, gays, and abortions.

Now, who is it exactly that needs to wake up?

Wright’s Church for twenty years and knows NOTHING about Wright’s racist and treasoness rants. Please, finally, do not write about John McCain, just address what Obama has done to deserve the nomination.

McCain’s will join Chaney who is on his fourth heart attack. You’ll never get the whole story from McCain, just twisted stories to make his point. McCain uses too many lower tier debate tactic.

My family is voting Obama!

Obama is polished and knows his stuff. He studied and didn’t just go with his advisors. Mccain is angry and flustered. He and Palin are not ready for the White House. McCain didn’t say anything. He only tried to attack Obama and I didn’t hear anything about what he would really do. Obama knocked McCain out. All McCain could talk about was his POW past which means nothing in this economy. Obama’s healthcare plan is better and makes sense. McCain’s $5,000 isn’t enough. McCain looked stunned! I’ll stand in line from sunup until the polls close if I have to to vote for Obama! McCain now wants to distance himself from Bush yet supported most of his policies.

McCain seemed very sincere where Obama kept up his rehearsed rhetoric. Hillary would have been the best president but America is too stupid to elect someone who could put this country back together again.

I suppose we can watch Obama screw up the country some more and keep our fingers crossed that Hillary will run in 4 years even though she says she won’t.

It is sad because McCain is a better man that Obama. Obama just lies better and people believe his lies.

What’s funny is McCain is talking about shady associations and nobodies said anything about his role in the S&L debacle. He was good friends with Keating.

Our country is heavily in debt and it’s going to get worse. Whoever goes in office will HAVE to raise taxes. The difference is McCains will go to the ricj and Obama’s will go towards prgrams.

Btw, this bailout is going to come back to haunt us. We’ve just provided a parachute for a bunch of rich folks to make some money at our expense.

Jake, Obama has done the same thing that all those idiots in Washington have. Nothing. They’ve sat around and earned pensions while you;re about to lose your job. To think that anyone would want to sign up for 4 more years of this. Wasn’t W enough?

@Bryant

Hillary had the chops, the connections, and weathered the tough times that many Americans have. I’d personally love to see a catfight between Hillary and Palin.

Be that as it may. Republicans would NEVER have put Palin in if Hillary was the front ticket. Never

It’s OK if someone lies BTW. As long as the people hold them to their lies. I like Obama as a representative of the country. Speaks well, sociable, not as susceptible to the wingers as the right wing…

If I didn’t line vote, I’d be leaning that way, because, after 8 years of Bush on late night comedy hour, this country needs tracking. A statesman, or woman. And that’s why I like your post. Hillary compared to Palin? Palin’s already on the late night shows. And she’s just running for office. McCain has just changed in the past year, and I don’t care for the new look.

I really liked and respect McCain until he went into “win-at-any-cost” mode earlier this summer (when the polsters confirmed Obama’s lead).

I am disappointed by Obama’s level of negative ads (albeit much lower percentage than McCain!), but even still, I think (hope!!) we are seeing the beginning of the end of negative campaigning.

Obama has shown himself to be presidential.

Let’s also send Jim Martin to the Senate to work with Obama!!

Sen. Obama clearly one the debate. The pundits are off track indicated by the polls and the surge in the number of independent voters for Obama. Sen.McCain was irritable, could not articulate his plans, and was the “grumpy men old man” his fellow politicians and now the country knows he is. It was shameful to bring up Sen. Lewis and Ayers. His mistake, Obama’s win. Obama and his stand on Pro-choice/Roe vs. Wade was brillant.

They both did great and they both have good and bad points to their campaign. I will be happy with either candidate as our next presedent but still lean slightly more toward McCain simply because Obama is promising tax cuts for the middle class and since the majority of the US is middle class I really dont understand how taking in less money is going to wipe out or even decrease our national debt. As a realist I truly believe it is a empty promise.

Mccain clearly to me look more mature for the job and has more experience obviously than obama. I noticed last night that obama was some what back pedaling last night and some of his probosed plans seem crazy to me and will put the US more in debt. At some point it looked liked obama was agreeing with mccain on some issues and does not look like a clear leader. I just hope that people do not vote against mccain due to the way the economy is today under Bush, he is clearly against all that Bush stood for. Mccain maybe old, but I think he would be a better leader for the country. Obama talks a smooth game, but his policy are ludicrus and just will hurt the american people more

Just goes to prove the masses are asses. Be careful what you wish for idiots because you will get it. Government has proven that it can’t handle healthcare. This will finish bankrupting are country. I agree everyone should have insurance, but I don’t want to pay for it for them. There are many people that just refuse to work or try to better themselves. Instead, they just want a handout. Wake-up America!!! I already voted for McCain

Obama won because he remain focus on the issues of America instead of continuing down the same old road of talking down at McCain. He makde points where McCain fail to answer the direct questions he was asked. Now don’t get me wrong..we see that McCain look’s down and talk’s down at Obama striking an uneasy and bias tone of him not being qualified to be President of the United States. We all know about “Joe” the Plummer…we all are “Joe” the Plummer because we face the same problems, “Joe” the Plummer is facing so McCain old story about joe went down with him when he mentioned him. John Lewis stands on his own merits and McCain should called John Lewis about what he said; and not Obams.

It’s a sad time for the USA. The stock market sinks out of fear we will have a rookie with no real experience at the helm. Everybody with skin in the stock market is taking it out and squirreling it away for fear Obama will take it. The Caman Islands are gonna have a windfall of new accounts and deposits. This will all prolong the econ probs we have that began in the Carter years and he made it more affordable for the poor to own and finance homes. What we have now just morphed from that “help”. McCain is older for sure, but he has seen and made all the mistakes already that we are gonna have to endure as Obama does his on the job training. It amazes me that track record and leadership history and ability have no place in this election, but being young, reading well with enthusiasm and with proper english annunciation along with promising whatever it takes to promote “change” is all it takes. This is the change that will certainly impact all Americans for a long time to come. Hopefully the 4 years we must endure before we change again won’t damage our country too badly. Pelosi is a buffoon. Now she and the inexperienced community organizer will be in charge of the USA. Heaven protect us.

John McCain should be our next President. There is no way anyone should be voting for an out and out racist - yes we know his father was black - he still is a racist and someone who acknowledges and thinks it is okay to sit in a pew for upteen years while any so called pastor says GD America and GD the whities!! John McCain has more experience in his little finger in all areas than Obama has in a lifetime. And, Obama is friends with Bill Ayers and never - ever has the grace to say he was wrong about anything!! Obama indeed has close ties to ACORN!! This man is not who he professes to be!!! McCain is a positive renegade and has been in the Senate - even against his own party. He is not afraid to stand up. Some times “polished” is just a cover for who you really are….a slick, memorized, untruthful person! McCain won the debate - and he will be our next President - God help us all if he is not.

Hey, all of you McCain supporters. Do you want to see what kind of patriot McCain REALLY is? If you do, check out who he’s picked to be his Transition Team Chief if he’s elected President. He’s picked a long-time Republican lobbyist and advisor to Republican Presidents, named William Timmons who, prior to the invasion of Iraq, lobbied on behalf of Saddam Hussein and the Iraqi governmnet. Timmons and two other lobbyists even attempted to bribe former-UN Chief Boutros Ghali in an attempt to lift UN sanctions placed against Iraq. You remember Saddam Hussein, don’t you? You know he was the guy all Americans and their elected officials (including McCain) hated…the Evil One…

But I’m confused. I thought McCain didn’t like dealing with Washington lobbyists… You know, the ones who really run the system. So, I can’t figure out why America’s patriot and official POW would consort with lobbyists who were making millions representing the interests of someone as evil as Saddam Hussein. Surely, McCain must not have known about Timmons’s lobbying efforts. Check out the name William Timmons. Contact your friends in the McCain campaign you know, like the other lobbyists, like Rick Davis who now work for him) and ask them to explain William Timmons’s role in a future McCain administration.

Obama has kept his message on target to the real people of this country. If he can deliver- that is another issue. However McCain is a grumpy old man who just can’t seem to say middle class and does not care. He is for a working class and an elite class. His free trade policies scare me the most. Open borders, cheap illegal labor to compete for the jobs that are left, deregulation (giving the consumer less or no choice), shipping jobs overseas, diminishing workers’ rights. He may not be Bush but has voted for his policies 90% of the time. Can’t teach and old dog new Tricks and the American people are sick of “Tricks” that only benefit a few! The remaining 48% get a free handout from the government. How is that fair? Why should I even try to succeed if I have to turn around and give it to someone else. People- the word is spelled plumBer… Obama is a wonderful example of intellectual America. He is a true thinker across all lines . He is what this country, and what the world needs now. Ignornant, country hicks like Palin and her non- high school finishing dude are the types who think Obama is a Muslim, he is not. He went to a black Christian church were they do talk about social issues that affect that particular community. But, if McCain supporters truly believe in the foundation of this country, it was founded by the very people who were escaping religious persecution. (i.e.- you can practice any religion you want. That’s what makes America great.) People keep saying Obama lacks experience, he has as much experience as McCain has at being president, Zero. Bush had supposedly a lot of experience but is the worst president ever. He lied about Iraq. They weren’t the ones who caused 911. Bush has killed more American soldiers fighting in the wrong war that he created to finish what his dad started. Jan: You may not realize it, but you’ve just spelled out why President Obama is winning.

Look at your argument—“We should vote for McCain because Obama is AWFUL. Everything about Obama sucks and is bad for America. Obama bad, Obama bad. Therefore, vote for McCain.”

That’s the same strategy the McCain campaign has been using… and it hasn’t worked. McCain was hoping to win by default if he piled up enough negative attacks against Obama—but he’s spelled out NOTHING about why people should vote for him.

Not “against Obama,” but FOR HIM. He’s offered nothing in that area. And America has noticed and responded appropriately.
