Biden knocked Palin out the box. She kept avoiding the questions by changing the topic. She is not ready to lead this nation and all that winking at the camera was getting on my nerves.

I’m not planning on voting for either major party, but damn, tonight seriously made me consider voting Democrat. Not just because Palin is an idiot but because Biden gave more intelligent answers on foreign policy than any major party candidate I have seen so far.

Great. Another blinkin’ idiot who can’t pronounce N-U-C-L-E-A-R. And, being a “mom” doesn’t impart any special wisdom. It may give a person a different perspective but if it made women wise, there wouldn’t be any need for foster care. She needs to drop the folksy act; it has worn thin and borders on irritating.

Palin came across as too informal/stupid and the B word. That is not an attractive combination.

Biden looked like he’d been given a strict script to follow and like he’d been rehearsed to stick to short answers. But he still came across as presidential. She just looked out of her depth.

When asked about a Biden presidency, im pretty sure he called it a catastrophic failure…the guy who would be president if Obama we incapable(he is incapable now so i guess we will see Biden soon)…this is the party of change??Biden, before saying that things would change stated that he has not changed for 35 years and does not plan on it…this guy is so full of crap!

Palin did better than I thought. But presentation left a lot to be desired. She is still an embarrassment to the Republican Party and to the United States if by chance McCain is elected. John McCain should be ashamed of himselft for not doing a better job at selecting a running mate. Let’s be real. When a Presidential Candidate selects a Vice-Presidential running mate, the selection is based on the premise that this person will step into his shoes if something happens to him. Her strongest asset is her belief that when all else fails, use the false charm appeal.

How is it possible to run your mouth that fast, spit out that many words, and NOT SAY ANYTHING?

Palin would be an excellent TV news anchor reading a teleprompter.

But Palin has no business running for Vice President.

I feel sorry for the citizens of Alaska. She’s a MESS!

Biden did a wonderful job in the debate tonight. His performance was great. Palin kept saying he kept going back in the past, well if you don’t go back in the past and learn the mistakes that were made, how are you going to keep from making those same mistakes in the future. She has made it very clear that she and McCain have not learned anything from the past 8 years and McCain and Palin are doomed to repeat those mistakes and that’s exactly what we as americans don’t need.

Like Biden said we do not need more of the Bush doctrine. Bush has messed up this country. McCain has the same views as Bush, nothing has changed. We do not need another 4 years of Bush. NO MORE BUSH

McCain and Palin want to keep this war going as long as possible.

I think Sarah did a good job. Unfortunately, a good job does not mean she should be Presidnet or VP. I think this was a no win situation for Sarah tonight. If she would have won the debate, she was rehearsed. If she lost the debate, she is an idiot. I just hope the Republican Party does not blame the loss of the presidency solely on Palin. SHe does not deserve it.

While I am definitely going to vote for Obama and Biden—-McCains selection leaves a lot to be desire about his judgement. It would be an insult to the intelligent women in the this country, who’s presidential aspirations started with Hillary, Geraldine and now Palin. You can’t win a fight if all you do is run, dodge, duck, hide and do everything imaginable to avoid the challenge.

She went the distance. She didn’t get knocked out.

But she didn’t win a single round, much less the match.

She just danced the night away hoping she wouldn’t fall on her face or get hurt. She did it. She survived. But she did not score a single point, much less win.

You look at liberal sites and Biden barely won the debate.

I still don’t hear anyone talking about the REAL cause of the economy.

Google “commuinty reinvestment act”. Banks were pushed by dems to give loans to folks who couldn’t afford them. Obama sued Citigroup for not issuing these loans.

Not many, she tapped danced around quite a bit. She spoke quite a bit but most of the time what she said had nothing to do with the question.

Sarah P looks like a porn star dressed up as a teacher, she had nothing orignal to say, you could tell she had the answers that she did give drilled into her head this week. “Can someone please give her a life line or let her phone a friend!” Because she needs some help Mr McCain thought that he was playing the game well but by choosing Sarah P as his running mate. For everyone who thinks Katie was responsible for PAILLING’S PATHETIC interview and response is not in touch with reality. She bumbled. YOu know what she is—she’e like that person who see’s job posting for a CEO or VPresident or President of a major company. The posting states the miniumum qualifications, that she does meet and she applies—-thinking because she has the minimum qualifications that she can be the best person for the job——NO NO NO. By even accepting the request of McCain to be his running mate—Sarah showed bad judgement. She should know that she is over her head. She is definitely someone who I see everyday at work and in my neighborhood, at my kids games—-but would you want the “good-ole-girl” running your country. Do you really want to trust the united states credibility to someone who does not know how to choose her words correct. The media really does try to influence elections. Tonight made me want to support Palin more than ever. They are completely against her because she is a female and don’t have 50 years of experience. She is one of the strongest women I have ever seen and is smart. It really is time that we have someone that hasn’t been corrupted by Washington leading in the co-pilot seat, the country.

People say she has no experience, yet they are fans of Obama…he is only a part-of-a-first-term senator…how much does he really know?

I really wish this country would stop voting on racial lines…it has become a reverse 1960s, except the other side is the one that is now doing it…they fought to stop it and now they are doing it.

Palin, didnt gaff and that was a good thing. I’m tired of seeing SNL skits about her. She referred to energy too many times. How is energy going to bring jobs? She avoided too many questions, can’t see how that is straight talk. Biden showed his skill and knowledge, clearly a master at his trade. I am disappointed that this was not a real debate. It was a basic Q&A with no interaction. There were a lot of talking points, but overall not a real game changer although Palin did show that extensive coaching could improve your talking skills. Biden showed too much restraint, but he stayed on point with the “Bushes”.

Both candidates should do after debate interviews as a follow up. I love good politics.

Obama’s area isn’t just the city of Chicago. He covers the entire state. Some of the best schools in the country are in the Chicago subarbs of Evanston, Skokie, Evanston, Wilmette, etc. They’re head and shoulders above any public or private schools in Georgia - look it up.

There were Obama yard signs all over those well to do areas when he was running for office.

Also, counting bodies in Iraq, it is soooo convenient for you to leave out the Iraqi death toll. The Iraqi Christians, who lived in peace under Sadaam, have fled to Jordan and can’t even go home for fear of being killed! If it’s so safe in Iraq, then why do the Republicans make such a big deal about Palin’s son going there? I guess he’d be taking a bigger risk if he went to Chicago to watch the Cubs. One more thing, Dems keep talking about how Republicans are lowering the taxes on the greater than $250Kers…they aren’t LOWERING taxes, they are lowering PERCENTAGES. End of day, they still pay way more than the average American. 25% of $250K is a lot more than $25% of $60K. They work hard, they are smart, they make more money…it is called CAPITALISM. Did anyone notice but me that whatever the topic—she always came back to the “ENAGY” topic and what she did in Alaska as mayor and governer. The people of Alaska should support her because she is one of their own. Don’t we support the Atlanta Falcom’s. Even when we know and feel they can’t win. We still cheer. Sometimes they win and sometimes they loose. PALIN is the Looser that in the words of SARah, the “GOOD FOLKS OF ALASKA” ALL KNOW ME.

NO one should blame Katie because the VP candidate came to an interview unprepared. Prior to getting the nomination—she should have read-up on that stuff. Like I said before—she just applied because she met the minimum qualificaitons.

He wins on substance; she wins on style. A draw. She was well briefed, but kept going back to her canned answers. She would make a good VP for McCain, and he would make a good VP for Obama. Since she has no opinions of her own on national issues she was able to express what had been crammed down her throat pretty well. Joe was best when he was more forceful, almost angry.

GOV. PALIN???? She never answered the questions. When you take a test in life be it by paper OR however….. . “Answer the question asked of you from this scheduled debate.” How in the world can anybody say she won or kicked butt??? I kept counting the times she said the word ENERGY on other questions asked of her, and I lost count. If you look back at the debate re-runs, her rehearsed cheat sheet kept her on the energy crises and one liners. THIS IS NOT A GAME SHOW , OR BEAUTY CONTEST DAMMITT!!!!!! IF A WAR BROKE OUT ON HER WATCH. SHE MAKES ME THINK ALL SHE CAN DO IS LEARN HER LINES AND NOT BE PREPARED FOR A REAL EMERGENCY ON THE NATIONAL STAGE,,, SAY AGAINST IRAN?????

Senator Biden won the debate hands down. Palin appeared detached, insecure and overly rehearsed. Her attempted to sound maternally intune to Americans failed terribly, when Biden became emotional when he talked about his losses. She responded coldly and unmoved and returned to her campaign speech. I would have liked her if appeared for a moment to empathize w/ his lost. She is too robotic, uniformed and unpolished (I like to give a shot out) to lead the country.

Hey Bubba, sounds like you are talking about what obama did exactly the other night and will do in the future. Exactly what he is advised to do. He is so teleprompted like a script that without a script he would be all and ah, well ah, but ah,….. Palin thinks on her feet. That is why she did win tonight. She spoke down of the Bush administration and Biden spoke the same old tune that all libtards do, “just another Bush”. That is so old. You need change. The dems since being elected to congress have run this country into the ground just so they can blame it on Bush. What a bunch of whiners. They are like a varsity chili dog. You have too many and it just makes you ##$$. I am so tired of their swame old rhetoric. Change would be a democrat with brains like Joe Leiberman. Wake up people, we might not like congress or the “insiders” nut they are professionals who are educated in what tey are doing.. I dont want someone with the same education as I to be the VP.. I want someone who has traveled the world, met with dignitaries, wrote legislation, fought for change and understood the core reason that we are failing in the economy right now.. Sarah Palin A Talking Head

By SwingVote

October 3, 2008 1:10 AM | Link to this

Palin: Didn’t embarrass herself or her party. Gets style points for a folksy made-for-television presentation but also deductions for painfully thin experience and rehearsed answers that went way off topic. (How many times did she use the word maverick?)

Biden: A slow start with a great finish (example: The Achilles heel question. Two thumbs up for extensive been-there personal and professional experience used to good effect, especially on foreign policy and nuclear weaponry. Bonous points for answering questions Palin dodged with rhetoric.

The Winner: Biden. Palin gets honorable mention for not falling apart or making big gaffes. But wait for the next unscripted interview.

it’s ironic that the republican party is trying to unite both parties to work together for a common good while the democrats are doing the us vs them thing.

i thought democrats were all for inclusion, acceptance of others differences & different ideas & beliefs but they aren’t. if anyone disagrees with them they become vicious and cruel and do everything they can including lying to destroy the person.

we all, dem and rep alike ought to be pulling together to do something positive for this nation. all this arguing and finger pointing isn’t going to do us a bit of good and the dem vs rep divisive ideaology is going to destroy us all.

Did someone say Harvard? I don’t know about you but the last two Ivy League co-presidents we had were enough to last several lifetimes. Spare me another round of THAT! And what does a wife have to bring to the discussion when she is only proud of her homeland,ie the USA, because they nominate her husband for Presiddent. Probably a lot of wives would be proud under those circumstances but that’s hardly a mark of patriotism. Perhaps blackmail is a better term. “I’ll be proud of America if you nominate my husband for President.” And you think Palin’s comments are stupid????????

By Dem Libs are angry because Palin won it!

October 3, 2008 1:27 AM | Link to this

ppl get a grip!

the dem’s are so angry they are attacking a woman and her kids. lying cheating and calling on their cohorts in hollywood to destroy palin. i don’t get why they are so upset over this woman running. yeah she has some ideas of her own (isn’t that what feminists love?) even though they aren’t what the dem’s want. she’s a strong working mom and the dem’s are acting like thats a sin.

i find it ironic that the rep’s are putting out a strong willed, competent woman and the dem’s, supposedly the bastions of equal rights are having hissy fits and kept their own strong woman down!

i was a democrat for years but i am really sick and ashamed of what many in my party are doing. no longer is it politics of truth and doing the right thing its destroy all who don’t believe the way you do. last time i looked this is a nation of people with different beliefs on everything and thats the way it should be. the dem’s don’t have it right and neither do the rep’s so why don’t we quit this p** match and work together. i used to believe the democratic party really held the belief that all people were accepted no matter how they believed but they are no longer accepting of anyone unless you adhere to every idea they think is right.

personally i think palin won the debate, she came off as smart and strong, biden came off as a wuss. this year i am switching parties and voting for mccain cause really he isn’t a rep he’s a moderate democrat and that is what this nation needs.

I feel somewhat embarrassed for the republican party. There’s no way this is the female running mate they could come up with. I understand the necessity of embracing diversity, but it shouldnt be at the cost of competence. Part of being a world leader is being able to communicate one’s grasp of the issues and vision for the future. Palin has not thought enough about issues OUTSIDE of those affecting Alaska, and has not demonstrated an intuitive grasp of policy or global politics. Thus this debate should added further evidence that voting for the mccain ticket with her on it is irresponsible.

When I first saw Sarah Palin speak at the RNC, I was impressed. I was impressed (and moved) by her bravery and fortitude in the face of difficult circumstances as a parent. But whatever strength I saw in the beginning has been subsumed by a kind of pandering. She is almost desperately courting the camera. Her grins come at inappropriate times and all those winks seem painfully insincere and even juvenile. Wouldn’t we be completely grossed out by a male candidate who winked that way? Is she planning to wink when she sits down with foreign leaders? I’m sorry. I just can’t see her as a president, or even vice-president. And, though I have been an admirer of McCain, I’ve grown increasingly disillusioned. This is the last straw. A deeply cynical move on his part, and it shows a flagrant disregard for the best interests of the country. He must know she could not succeed him in the event of his death or inability to govern. And if he doesn’t, he should. I was never an Obama fan, but he’s won me over.

The Debate.

The talking heads are falling all over themselves talking about the fact that Sarah Palin didn’t have a seizure on stage or something. But let’s be clear about this: I watched the focus group meters and watched the debate and Joe Biden won it hands down and won it big!

But in fairness to Sarah Palin, her burden was greater than Joe Biden’s, MUCH greater.

Political trends this late in the campaign can be likened to a supertanker. Once they have momentum in a particular direction, it takes a massive force to turn them around. I’m from Alaska, I know something about what happens when supertankers don’t turn around in time. The McCain Supertanker has just fetched up hard on Palin reef and it’s going to be taking on serious water.

Sarah Palin needed to effect a game change. It was Joe Biden who merely had to ‘hold his own’ against Palin. Make no mistake, Joe Biden won this thing tonight and McCain now has an almost impossible task going into his second debate with Barack Obama on domestic policy— an area that is the Democrats’ strength.

Oh… the McCain campaign is going to be spinning this thing like Whirling Dervishes, but the people who watched this know what they saw and it is all over for the McCain campaign tonight.

By no more republican;

When she isn’t scripted one senses that she not only doesn’t know the answer but that she doesn’t comprehend the question as was the case when K.Kuric asked her twice what newspapers she reads and she replied “all of them” the first time and “I’ll send you some” the second time. Joe Biden won this debate with years of being in office and actual experience. He walks the walk and talks the talk. Palin did do a little bit better but she had to and I think the VP position is for someone who eats and sleep of wanting to be President or Vice President. Palin does not show that kind of passion. I felt both Palin and Biden did a good job in the debate. Palin and McCain are more focused reforming America to make it a stronger nation while Biden and Obama just keep talking about the failed Bush policies of the past 8 years (which is how Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid open every sentence they speak)! Well I hate to tell them that all of the Bush policies haven’t failed. If they would look in the mirror they would see that the demise of any bi-partisan coorporation in Congress has fallen to an all time low. Yes, you can thank Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for the lack of coorporation because they have definately divided party lines since she became speaker of the house. The mess that Wall Street is in is because of a lot of democrats pushing banks to loan thousands of people money to buy a home they could have never afforded. Bush didn’t have anything to do with this. This started long before he ever took office. And, there should be an investigative committee to see just how many in congress got fat and rich off contributions by these companies. That’s my whole problem with the way this election is going because the democrats never take any responsibility or ownership. They just point fingers and try to lay the blame on someone else.

What you witnessed last night was nothing more than someone (Sarah Palin) who had been coached on what to say. It was obvious that she was advised to sway her responses toward what she had done in Alaska if she was not familiar enough with the question. She evaded more questions than she answered directly. The media casted Bidin as a “TYPICAL” Washington Politician because he answered the questions with clarity, direction and a sense of purpose. While Palin was seen as a “Fresh New Voice” on the topics of discussion. Now if you compare this to the Presidential Debate. McCain was glorified for his stance and ability to touch on all the points as a “SO-CALLED” experienced statesman for Washington. While the media casted Obama as someone who was inexperienced and not having the ability or background to touch on all of the points. Therefore, I find it difficult to understand why these American Political Experts refuse to recognize this lady as being INEDXPERIENCED. If anyone is bringing new ideas, and new solid approach to Politics, then that has to be Obama. BUT……..he was categorized as being inexperienced. It is and was very obvious that Palin does not have the knowledge to be elected as our next VP. This lady was obviously set in a room with several top Republican debate specialist who taught her how to evade the questions, and shift her answers to make it seem as though she was knowledgeable. She stumbled to begin her rebuttle toward Biden, and often stated, “well that is a good question, but I AM GOING TO TALK ABOUT……..meaning I DON’T KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION, BUT LET ME TALK ABOUT THIS INSTEAD…….PALIN was coached very well……..and what you saw was a puppet on stage who may as well have had an earpiece in her ear as an NFL quarterback does on ANY GIVEN SUNDAY

Where the heck is AJC/DNC? I hope he hasn’t, ya know, committed hari-kari in response to the beginning of the end of the McCain/Palin ticket.

And darn it, Biden looked and sounded presidential. Palin looked and sounded like a hockey-mom (actually, she sounded a lot like Frances McDormand in Fargo…ya know) struggling to regurgitate those talking points at the appropriate time. Only the most closed-minded Republicans (i.e., AJC/DNC, Dusty, etc.) would contend that she won the debate.

Something everyone seemed to miss-

Biden mentioned that he wants to reduce the amount of principal on loans in default. This would cost even more taxpayer money and reduce property values even further. Also, he thinks that paying taxes is patriotic. Aside from those 2 points, he is an okay guy. People like to forget that Palin is a Govenor, former mayor, and business owner. She managed to squeeze hockey mom somewhere. She did better than Biden on energy and the economy. Her foreign policy answers were fine. However, Biden did better on foreign policy. Anyone that thinks McCain/Palin are ready to lead obviously did not listen to the questions asked at the debate. Palin proved once again that she is not qualified to be one “heartbeat” from the presidency. Most questions she dodged and came back with some response about energy. Both her and McCain tout a purely politicized enrgy policy. Despite the FACT that our oil resources are low, and that any benefits from their program would not be reaped for 10 years, they continue with this drill baby drill garbage. But more scary than Palin’s lack of international credentials, was the fact that she obviously not knowledgable of our Constitution. Anyone who votes for them is clearly lacking intelligence and will believe whatever they are told.

By bob

October 3, 2008 7:35 AM | Link to this

PALIN: Claimed she has taken on the oil industry as Alaska governor.

THE FACTS: Palin pushed to impose a windfall profits tax on oil companies and distributed the proceeds to the state’s citizens to offset rising energy costs. However, she has also sided with the industry on a number of issues. She sued the Interior Department over its designation of polar bears as an endangered species. That puts her on the same side as the American Petroleum Institute, the oil industry’s chief trade association. She also supports the industry’s desire to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge — a position at odds with McCain.

In your claim that anyone that would vote for them must be “stupid idoits” you did not bother to substantiate your position. But I would expect this, as anyone that would vote for McCain/Palin blindly believes everything they say, and lacks the intelligence to think for themselves. Obama clearly has a superior fiscal policy, has a better and more environmentally safe energy policy, and is smart enough to understand that diplomacy, not hard talk and bullying, is the only effective international policy.

I’ve been a bit on the fence about this whole thing, but time and time again Palin proves that she memorizes a script and keeps notes to reference back to. When there’s a question posed that she has no clue of the answer to, she changes the subject back to whatever her notes are referring to. With McCains age and health, I’m terrified of the idea that she could possibly be the president of our country. I’m also somewhat disappointed that Biden didn’t call her out for not sticking to the topics. There are probably a lot of McCain supporters that were impressed with her last night because she seemed polished. But, if you actually listened, you’d realize that she’s just not qualified in the least bit. I’ve pretty much made my decision.

I wonder if people would have judged Mitt Romney with the leniency they’re judging Palin. She provided no substance to the debate whatsoever - just catchy remarks. I guess just because she’s a woman, people think they have to take it easy on her. The role of Vice President should not be handled by someone who’s trying to learn as they go. If McCain died on Jan. 1, do people seriously want to gamble on someone trying to learn her way around politics outside of Alaska?

As an professional woman, Biden’s demeanor and constant dismissing grin towards Palin and her answers drove me crazy. Every working woman in America has experienced that at some point in their career: the typical machismo grin that a man gives you in a way that says they want to just pat you on the a$$ and “sure, honey, I’m not really listening, I’m looking at your chest. It’s time to let the boys get back to work.” Drives me crazy!

I wasn’t crazy about either Palin or Biden’s responses. But the way the crazies on the left have been attacking Palin, as well as the attacks on her from the media, has me supporting her over Biden. No one is saying anything bad about Biden - but he is just as much a ‘talking head’ as Palin is!!

Of course, in Georgia, it’s still a race issue, right? For a city too busy to hate - I’ve seen a LOT of blacks hating on “Barack’s opponent” just because he is white. Once again, it’s a skin color thing. Judget the content of character, people! I’m voting for McCain - but not because of Palin being a female, or because he’s white. I’m voting for McCain simply because he is the best option (and lesser of two evils) of the Presidential candidates.

I would bet my paycheck that if Dr. King was still alive, he’d say that he was incredibly proud of Americans for nominating and entertaining the idea of Barak Obama for President. However, he would be voting for McCain.

What?? You didn’t know that Dr. King was a Republican?! Look it up, the facts are here: http://www.nationalblackrepublicans.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=pages.DYK-Why%20MLK%20was%20a%20Republican

Palin is the worst!….She never answers a question directly and comes across as a dumb bunny…She’s very charming however. But she needs to stay in the minivan near the soccer field and take care of her KIDS, not the country…..what a NATIONAL DISASTER if she gets in!

I believe that a vote for McCain/Palin ticket would be the dumbest move any American can make. People want to think that black people are voting for Obama because he is black in the beginning maybe yes but as the election has went on if you listen to both sides Obama seem to be the only one letting us know what his plan is to help us the American people right now. I don’t care about Mcain being a prisoner of war and most young people that are voting in this election were not even alive during that time. They as all people want to know what about the next four years not the last 20 or so and Palin after watching the debate last night the women of this world were wondering how you would be VP and raise your kids we see now your other children will do that. Your oldest daughter came on stage holding your baby and your youngest daughter went off stage holding the baby you held it for about what a second i blinked and missed that. So american wake up and understand 4 more years of the same we just can not have.

Morally Dr. King might support some republican issues, but in case you didn’t know, Dr. King actually cared about the poor and less fortunate - unlike many of the Repulicans you see in the spot light. I highly doubt in this day and age that he would vote republican. We’ve had a President for the past 8 years who stood for issues against abortion and gay marriage, but has that changed anything - no.

If I heard her say one more time that “He’s a maverick” I was going to throw somthing at my television. I don’t care what they say she is not ready. Even her stage presence was horrible, not professional. I mean If you were in an interview would you wink at the person who is going to be your boss? Anyway, Biden won, fair and square.

Hands down Biden won this debate. Palin did better than I expected, BUT that was because she had a good team to prep her. You could clearly see was scrambling throughout the night looking in ALL her notes to find some type of fact to go off on. The fact that she created for this debate and not bring it already shows this is only for the cameras. So now my question is, will they continue to hide her from more interviews or do they think she is ready to interview the remaining the weeks left before the election? Hell, with a week of coaching, I too could look like Palin in a debate. I hope they keep the team around that coached her into what we saw last night because she is going to need it. All of her answers were to scripted for me. Now, I am still researching to find if she is really worth a million dollars as stated on a website I read yesterday, BUT if so, then she is clearly not middle class as she claims to be. Also, when she was talking about the $5000 credit to buy healthcare and said it would not cost the taxpayers … I was curious to see who is going to pay for it then …. McCain’s wife???? Clearly we all know we the American people would be paying for that in some way or another.

Attention people that think Palin won:

You need to take a critical thinking class or better yet, finish high school. It is very sad that you cannot distinguish a rehearsed puppet from a person who has the ability to communicate values they believe in.

How can you win a debate if you avoid some of the questions? Biden answered all of the questions asked. Palin out of fear of another “Can I get back to ya..” moment, avoided questions. On that count alone Biden WON the debate.

Senator Biden won the debate as he was able to clearly articualte his responses. He appeared knowledgeable and was able to address current problems and proposed solutions. Conversely, Palin did not seen to have a linear thought process. She ramble on excessively and often appeared dumbfounded. I heard the crickets go off in her head when asked what is her achilles heal. Like the Bush Doctrine, she was unfamiliar with the topic. She has a annoying nasal tone as well. To be fair, no one in his or her right mind would possible believe she would be effective negotiating with global leaders.

Palin was successful in not have having made anymore mistakes. She was able to find her old charming self. With her smile and constant winking and folksy comment, she gave the conservatives reasons to still like her. But are we seriously considering putting a “Hockey MOM” with a special needs child and pregnant teenager in charge of our country? I am not being sexist. I would ask the same question to Obama. It is not fair to put anybody in a postion where they may have to choose between their FAMILY and their COUNTRY.

There were different standards for Sarah Palin and Joe Biden going into last night’s debate. Sarah Palin had to show up and not make any major screw-ups which she accomplished and for most of her supporters that amounts to a victory. For an undecided like me, my threshold for “victory” was a command of the issues. Sarah Palin did well in talking generalities (when she actually answered the questions asked. If you wanted substance and someone who actually new the issues and could get past the generalities and the fluff then Joe Biden “won” the debate and got my vote for the democratic ticket.

OMG I would be so scared for America if I thought you people actually believed that Palin won this debate, but I know that Pro-Palin comments are simply defense mechanisms— the GOP knows this woman is a babbling idiot, but for the sake of party unity they pretend to support her. The facts are simple: Palin did not speak correctly, Plain did not answer the questions, and Palin is certainly not ready to be VP. Conservatives can keep lying to themselves if they would like, but it is clear that the bulk of Americans and slowly but surely realizing that the Republican ticket is a joke— the polls don’ t lie.

Nonetheless, Biden was “darn” near flawless!

Did Palin seem the most informed on issues..? No. So what, Biden is the consummate, typical politician, same old same old. He’s been there as he said for 32 years. You people want to continue with people that are ruining this country and have been for what 32 years or more! You want more of the same crap go ahead and vote for the smooth talker that looks good in a debate!!! You get what you deserve. Sarah Palin doesn’t have a clue. Many times during the debate she avoided answering the most important questions. Biden put her to shame last night and he didn’t have to speak to her in a condosending matter. Palin did it all on her own. She doesn’t know the role of a vice president. It seems to me that Palin needs to go back to school and learn about our Judicial System. “No Child Left Behind” or shall I say “No Vice President Left Behind” How dare the Republicans put down Barack Obama. Sarah Palin is not even in the same league as Barack Obama when it comes to our country. The Obama/Biden campaign is what this country needs to get us through these diffculty times. The most important change that we can make in this 2008 election is by looking at the person from the inside and seeing if his/her heart for this country. Barack Obama and Joe Biden love this country and are proud to be Americans.

I work for a huge corporate company where we had a CEO that took his employees for a ride and left with and $8 million settlement and almost destroyed the company. Then we had a man come into power, took the company over and turned everything around and guess what folks…he would talk to you like Sarah Palin does. You know, I don’t want no snobby uptight arrogant man to run our country. I like the way Sarah talked because she just talks to you like she’s having a normal conversation with you. I myself may not be the best speaker in the world, but guess what I get the job done and so will Sarah Palin. I’m going to laugh my head off if Obama gets president because all of you Demos will see what kind of change you are going to get…NO Change!!! Also, the comment about the porn star garbage…what rock did you crawl out from under? Why would anyone want to vote for the kind of double talking, partisan, and completely sold out canidate that Biden and Obama are? McCain must be losing his mind, and in a hurry. Who would even consider picking someone like her. Race has absolutely nothing to do with it. She is not knowledgable, intelligent, experienced, and lacks confidence. We have high schools bigger then the town she Mayored. My county has more people then the whole state of Alaska.

She needs to go home, take care of her infant and pregnant daughter. I’m a women too, so I’m not being indifferent. She is a joke, McCain is a joke, and anyone that choses to vote for them are complete idiots that should be completely embarassed.

I’ve read comments about how sorry you feel for the people of Alaska. And how Palin answers the questions she thinks Americans want to hear. Funny I thought that was would she was suppose to represent, not the media or the Washington Elite with their own agendas.

I know for the Obama faithful noting I say will change your mind and regardless of last night’s debate your responses would have been the same. But I find Biden genius insight something to behold. He should be President. He knows for a fact that Iran will not have nuclear weapons even though we have no way of inspecting their plants and they claim to soon have the weapons. He knows for a fact that man is the cause of “global warming” even though no 2 so-called experts will agree to that. The fact is that over the past 200 years the temperature has bounced around and funny thing is the industrial revolution didn’t begin until the 1900’s. He also knows for a fact there is no clean burning coal..oh I’m sorry he now knows better. The man was lost and had no idea how to respond half the time. And for all those that gave McCain a hard time because he couldn’t get overwhelming support from his own party for the bailout, Biden admitted he doesn’t even agree with Obama on the issue and they are running mates.

But as to Governor of Alaska, I would trade her in a NY minute for our Governor. How much you want to bet the gas shortage wouldn’t have been handled differently if she was in charge? I was in Alaska recently before anyone knew Palin would be tapped for the VP candidate and trust me things are much better in Alaska than Georgia.

The McCain/Palin campaign don’t care about us average middle-lower class Americans. McCain doesn’t have any new and innovative ideas for this country. The Obama/Biden campaign brought the issues of this country to light during the democratic election. McCain is trying use Obama’s ideas to his advantage because he doesn’t have any of his own. McCain is the one who should be sued for plagiarism. The financial crisis of this country, jobs and health care were first presented by Obama during the Primary Elections. The only reason why the McCain and the Bush administration are concern about our economy because it is affecting their fat pockets. This country has been in a finacial crisis since the Republicans took office. The Republicans had a several years to deal with fincancial issues of the country but chose to ignore it. Funny, Bill Clinton will be known as one of the best Democratic Presidents in recent time, yet his claim to fame was “he connected with the average person and could be on their level”. He has even commented that he knows exactly why so many people like Sarah Palin and why it is so hard for the Elite to accept her. He said he had the same issues that she faces. Yet you same Clinton followers have a problem if someone on the other side of the fence try to connect. You seem to think it takes a genuis to run the country. When it fact it was the elite running Washington in to the armpit it is today. It was the elite that ran Fannie Mae/Mac into the ground (those elite now work for Obama if that wasn’t irony enough to realize their isn’t a lot of smarts there either). It was the elite that have taking all our savings and retirement and gambled it away. Of course all these folks must be smarter than us average Americans, because they are still sitting pretty while we sit at home and don’t know whether to cry or scream because our retirement accounts are now worth nothing.

Thanks but no Thanks, I’ll take the “average” American who has shown she can operate her family budget, then the budget of a small town (no small task when you consider the limit of incoming funds and the demand of the citizens), then take on budget of the the largest State in this country (to the idiot that thinks Atlanta is bigger than Alaska, go back to school because Alaska has a larger land mass and gross national product than most countries). She may be just “average”, but I see that as an advantage.

Besides did you actually listen to some of the idiot comments from Biden last night. And get Obama away from his speech writers and teleprompts. The man isn’t that swift and he’ll answer a question to applease his audience at the time. I’m suprised he hasn’t spoke to the KKK and denounce the black race. In front of tree huggers he promises to stop drilling for oil and finding alternative sources of energy (which sounds good, only that isn’t the only option since they have been researching and doing this for 25 plus years). Get him in front of Labor groups and us “gun hugging Bible toting simple people” and he chants “drill here, drill now” with the rest of us. Just in case all you genuis minds out there that think Palin is an idiot, she understands it will take both to relieve our dependence of foreign energy and she and McCain will say so to both groups.

Obama is a very smart man that gives great prewritten speeches. But he doesn’t have the experience of the Republican VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE.

Why did Palin refuse to answer the question about McCain’s history of supporting de-regulation? It is clear that she was coached into avoiding certain topics, perticularly as they apply to the current economic crisis. The Republicans have always supported De-regulation and are trying to pretend that they are somehow not responsible for causing this problem.
