Restoring the Clinton dynasty?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Bill Clinton could be a very effective surrogate for Barack Obama on the campaign trail, going to small-town America, carving up John McCain, persuading lunch-pail Democrats to stay with the Obama-Biden ticket. But it’s unlikely that he will.
Even after her effective speech last night (perhaps because of it) Hillary aides are making clear that she still intends to run in 2012. That’s only possible if Obama loses. So the Clintons would rather see a Republican in the White House next year than give up their dream of restoring the Clinton dynasty.
On top of that, there are ugly rumors going around that Hillary aides put out the word that Obama had better not pick a woman VP unless it was Hillary. Can they really be that selfish?

Is having a “Clinton Dynasty” any worse than having the Kennedy Dynasty?
Slighting her for trying hard to advance to the highest office would be the same as slighting any ourselves for wanting advancement and promotion in our respective workplaces.
Clinton would have done far more to advance women in the workplace and in societies around the world than Obama or any other male can. I’m still shocked that this columnist thinks Obama will do more for her than Clinton would have.

Cynthia, it really is sad to see a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer humiliate herself to such a degree. You’ve become so obsessed with Obamamania than you’ve lost your sense of journalistic integrity.
With each blog you post, you lose less and less value in my mind. You’ve become a rabid proponent of Obama, while cutting anyone or anything that stands in his way.
You’ve lost my respect.

To speak to Cynthia’s comments about Hillary…
My suspicion that Hillary is more concerned about power than us is one reason I find it hard to support her (or feel sorry for her hard-earned loss in the primaries).
She has done a lot of good, but being overly-ambitious might yet tarnish her record.
She’s not required to support Obama, but she needs to be open and honest in her support, her opposition or her ambivalence.
I’m certain that we can elect Obama with or without her support… It is OUR country after all, not the Clintons’ or the Bushes’.
And once in office, he will do such a good job that it will be unthinkable to unseat him in 2012!!

Cynthia, 2001, the ajc had a FULL page on the importance of the ajc being a balance and non-bias newspaper. You had all the writers and editors writing this and that about being PREJUDICE and BIAS The vast bias and negative comments you have blog in at this convention and through these years show you are not a person of accountability or performances The ajc continues to run a close first with San Francisco Chronicle losing subscriptions and advertisers in this country. I feel cheated that you have led ajc to this adverse condition. You really need to apply for a New York Times job.

Cindy did an about-face on Hillary. Or at least it looks that way. She just got through praising her speech and saying how it’s going to help Obama (most of knew better), then she starts this blog accusing her of wanting Obama to lose, so she will have a chance in 4 years. Now the AJC is reporting that Hillary has freed her delegates to vote for Obama. I wonder what Cindy is going to say next.

Lunch pail Democrats? The lunch pail folks, along with every other working, tax paying voter better take the time to examine the Obama tax plan. Obama’s plans call for a 28% tax on proceeds from the sale of your home vs none presently. That’s going to nail middle class families whose home is their biggest asset as well as soon to be retirees who want to sell, enjoy the proceeds and downsize. Then there’s the estate tax Obama plans to re-instate. Has anyone mentioned how a single person making $35,000 year will pay approximately $3,500 more when Obama lets the Bush tax cuts expire? Or a married couple earning $75,000 who will pay $5,000 more? Then there’s the socialized medical system he intends to put in place so 12 million illegals can have medical insurance while those of us who work pay for it. Cynthia, I would suggest that anyone who carries a lunch pail, anyone who lives in a small town and clings to their guns and Bibles, anyone who has a job and a home, might want to consider the consequences of an Obama Presidency and ask themselves… From a financial perspective, Can I afford for Obama to be President?

Ha Ha Ha! I have told you all… Hillary has a hidden agenda! Obama does not see it (or tries to ignore it) Of course they want McCain in the white house, that way she can run again in 2012! As I have already pointed out… if Obama wins he will be re-nominated in 2012, in 2016 his VP, Joe Biden will be the frontrunner for nomination for President as is the tradition, if he wins then he will be renominated in 2020… and unless he chooses Hillary as his running mate then the cycle starts all over again! The only way Hillary can get to the white house is if McCain wins! Are all you people stupid?

English-only isn’t language of job success — Not that Cynthia Tucker would blog — NO. Even Cartoon Fool stopped blogging. Tucker head in the sand missed the point. Immigrants need to learn English. PERIOD. No driver’s license, government documents, election ballots, etc. need be printed in anything but English. You go to France and you can’t get a license application in English. You don’t go to a store in Spain and find English Subtitles. You don’t go to a German store and find English Subtitles. Have you noticed that the signs in our stores are now in English and Spanish. We soon could be as screwed up as Quebec in Canada.
No one would argue that our children and people do not need to learn more than one language. The languages should be Chinese and Spanish. However it is STUPID not conduct business and Government in only one language - English. Once again another of the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation has missed the point.

Cynthia Tucherheadinsand, No one ever had respect for your leftist rantings. You and Sinney McKinney are closely related, except she is much more a fool. However, you both agree it is all about RACE. RACE. RACE. They are picking on us and holding us down and judging us.
Send us Federal Money for Reperations. Let us have separate holidays - Kowabanga at the end of the year. Let us be separate - African-Americans. We are all Americans. The hyphen does nothing but divide our country.
As for the Clintoons, yes they are biding their time and expecting that Bactrack Oblama and Joe Bitem will loose. If they do lose and Americans can only work hard and vote to keep these Marxists out of office, then Clintoon will spend the next 4 years running again. She will not make the same mistakes.
I would rather have Hitlary Rotten Clintoon answering the phone in the Soiled House (no longer White) than Backtrack Oblama. At least she is a power hungry tough witch. Maureen had a brilliant idea about report cards for teachers. She expressed the opinion that we should judge teachers by the quality of the student’s achievement. How simplistic. Education is hard to evaluate, but that does not stop her from a simplistic solution.
Well I have a plan for the AJC. We will not only have a report card for teachers, but we are creating a report card for columnists and editorial board staff. We will judge your effectiveness by how much your work has increased the circulation and/or revenue of the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation. This would be fair as we can easily find these numbers from past years.
Wait, no one is buying this rag. You must all be performing poorly. Your left leaning drivel is not selling. So Cox is selling papers, but not yours yet. Well soon as revenue continues to decline for the left leaning media, YOU WILL BE OUT OF WORK.

Clinton has a beautiful supportive speech of Obama and gracefully asked for a voice vote to replace the roll call to expedite giving Obama the nomination. (No other runner up candidate of either political party has EVER been that graceful and generous in defeat). And HRC is still suspected of not being loyal.

Obama will never win the general in November. It just won’t happen. America is not ready nor willing to elect him. Not because of his race but because he stands for nothing. He has no political backbone on which to base an opinion; his experience is nill. He needs to be seasoned in national politics a bit more - another few terms in the Senate and he will be electable and I will gladly vote for him. 2008 however, my vote goes to McCain.

Cynthia Tucker automatically assumes the worst motivations regarding Bill and Hillary Clinton. This is biased and unfair.
(Quote) “Even after her effective speech last night (perhaps because of it) Hillary aides are making clear that she still intends to run in 2012. That’s only possible if Obama loses. So the Clintons would rather see a Republican in the White House next year than give up their dream of restoring the Clinton dynasty.”
Tucker assumes if Barak is elected President that he will both desire and deserve a second term. Not every Democratic president has done that. She also assumes that terms served as president MUST be served consecutively.
Heck, if Barak is as good as he claims to be, he should not need more than one term to fix all of America’s problems. Now, THAT would be true change.
(Quote) “On top of that, there are ugly rumors going around that Hillary aides put out the word that Obama had better not pick a woman VP unless it was Hillary. Can they really be that selfish?”
Perhaps the Clintons thought they could successfully motivate their supporters to vote for Obama if he chose a man for the VP job, but they doubted they could sway those voters sufficiently to overcome what would likely be perceived as yet another insult (selection of a woman other than Hillary).
Look, Obama’s general behavior has not been exactly beneficent towards the Hillary crowd. Most Hillary supporters regarded the 3:00 AM text message announcing Biden for VP as an intentional insult. Personally I think it was. There were 23 other hours in the day Barak could have chosen to send that message.
IF Barak had sent his 3:00 AM text message announcing selection of another woman for the VP slot, it is very unlikely the Clintons could have prevented riots and violence, much less encourage their supporters to vote for him.
And that’s the way it is.
The Clintons are behind this nomination. They both delivered glowing speeches in support of Barak and the party’s larger goals, which CANNOT be realized if Barak is not elected. What more do you want?
I’d like to see Cynthia STOP undermining their support for this party and it’s nominee.
