The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
What has been your most expensive fill-up so far at the gas station and what are you doing about it: carpooling, hyper-miling, trading in the SUV?

If I let the tank in the Ranger go empty,it will hold $60 worth. When I bought the Ranger the tank wouldn’t hold $20 worth.Either the tank got a lot bigger or the price went way up.

$75.50 in my Altima. Problem is, I do roughly that twice a week. (Pitfalls of living 100 miles from work!)

When the gasoline level in the Benz gets low, Lovie and I have the chauffeur drive it to the self-serve station to fill it up. He puts it on the card and my accountant pays the bill at the end of the month. Honestly, I have no idea how much it costs - and, frankly, I don’t really care. It’s just money, after all.

WTF!!??
Don’t we in fact need to raise gas taxes to pay for bridge repairs…, remember!?
No…, no increases in supply or refined product. We must have higher gas milage now, regardless of cost or economic pain! Forget the poor, not everyone will be driving in our futuristic progressive society anyway. That will only be available to politisians and elite members of society. Haven’t you ever been to Europe!?
So either get use to it or buy a bike! Just stay out of my way in the fast lane. I love high gas prices…., less traffic!!

We need to increase supplies and keep building more efficient cars. Vote for McCain - he’s finally coming around. Obama’s windfall tax on big oil will only make things worse. Oil companies already are taxed %45 compared to %30 of other industries. They need to invest profits to get more supplies. Less profits = less supplies = more reliance on foreign oil. Do the research before you vote this November. Don’t just assume that big oil is the bad guy.

In the far off future, we may not need oil, but right now we do. Yet, election and party politics drives the Dems to block drilling yet again. Drilling would lessen our dependence on foreign oil and create domestic jobs, not to mention more supply will equal lower prices. How can this be bad? Too many are suffering now due to blind environmental restrictions which inhibit our country from reaching our potential.

$50 for aweek to 10 days in my Explorer Sport. I live less than 20 miles from work. I am on the road by 7:00 to avoid sitting/idling in traffic. I leave work at 4:00 - no traffic there either……I also try to run errands on the way home, so I don’t have to get out on Saturdays with everyone else in Georgia……..I’m home playing in my garden!!!

Yes,Democrats for MCCAIN,we dont need a false American Messiah, that is going to resolve all of our problems.I realized that Thanks Bill Clinton I am spending $85 a week today,he vetoed the bill in 1995 that allowed the drilling of oil in our shores and in the Alaska artic area rich in oil,the gallon of gas could be as low as $1.50 today, and we would not import any oil from our enemies, and make Hugo Chavez and the saudis more millonaries.By the way to all to blame President Busch fot the oil prices check this out for your education.JUNE 15.EQUIVALENT PRICES OF A GALLON OF GAS IN THE EUROPEAN UNION.FRANCE $10,GERMANY $10.50,BRITAIN $9.50,BELGIUM $8.10,SPAIN $7.73 and Turkey$11.00,and they are not blaming their presidents,THEY ARE BLAMING THE OPEC!!!>

They are not blaming OPEC, they are blaming their governments since taxes are the reason their prices are so high. Get your facts straight before you post.

Sure, I spend about $60 per fill-up, but that is about every three weeks or so. I have a four-cylinder car and employ many of the safer hypermiling principles (look it up if you have never heard the term) so I average about 34 mpg per tank. I keep the cruise at 55-60 on the way to work, and then on my way home. It just makes it clearer and clearer how many of you are wasting gas as you’re speeding by me doing 70-80 on 285. Slow down everyone and save gas. Supply and demand, econ 101!

$3.95 to fill up my scooter!! 5 miles to work each way, 85+/miles per gallon… lasts me about 2 weeks with other running around town. So the total gas budget for the month is under $10. No kidding… makes me chuckle at huge SUVs…

Newsweek magazine has repoted that the high cost of Diesel fuel has had an effect on the Prostitution industry in Neveda. The truckers can’t afford the entertainment services due to increased cost of fuel. It seems the client count is off a staggering 45% year to date according to the Neveda Association of Brothel owners. Talk about pain at the pump.
