Economic wreck Reagan wrought?

Washington Post columnist Harold Meyerson says the current economic crisis is a direct result of the late President Ronald Reagan’s laissez-faire economic policies which promoted less government regulation. Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign is tainted by this legacy, argues Myerson.

Reagan was presidiing over the country during the rise of “government bad, business good” nonsense, but I doubt he can be held specifically responsible for all the economic disasters that were incurred as a result, over the past 28 years.

Thankfully, supply-side has been finally and fully discredited, so at least we’ll never fall for THAT particular brand of silliness again.

Thank God he’s only a columnist without any real power (other than those who are weak-minded enough to believe in anything he writes).

Anyone who has an ounce of rational thinking knows the present economic slowdown is directly tied to the banking crisis. It was caused by relaxed loan requirements mandated by Liberals who thought EVERYONE should be entitled to a home. The banks used this to their own advantage to allow people to qualify for loans (and homes) they could not afford. Eventually the “house of cards” had to fall down.

If you want to see a real economic crisis it may begin next January if a Democrat takes over the White House. Simply put - they’ll raise taxes on business and their owners, people will be laid off to offset these taxes, the economy grinds to a halt - and the mainstream press will say its all the Republican’s fault. It’s just unfortunate that some people can’t think rationally (Liberals) to understand they’ve been brainwashed.
