Nutrition info in restaurants?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Even though not a single Georgia jurisdiction has indicated an interest in requiring restaurants to post nutrition information on menus, the 2008 General Assembly has decided it is important to ban cities, counties and health departments from doing so. (Read the AJC editorial.)
What do you think? Should restaurants be required to provide nutrition information?

America is a very funny and strange place. They spend billions of dollars on diet and health care but only few restaurants offer pure vegitarian dishes. Most places don’t even offer vegi burger. It is time to require all restaurants to offer vegitarian dishes on their menus.

The consumer is much more powerful than the government (well, should be anyway), and it’s up to the consumer to make these changes happen. There are healthy restaurant alternatives out there, and there are some restaurants that list nutrition information on the menu and/or make that information readily available.
Any business that wants to be successful has to meet the demands of the consumer. If the consumer demands something, business will provide it.
So if you want this information, demand it. There’s no need to have government meddling in our lives and telling businesses what services they should or shouldn’t provide.

I think they should be required to provide nutrition information. A lot of foods are not as healthy as you would think they are. If your interested there is a website that list the nutrition information from many restaurants, it is dwlz.com

I agree, they should post all information. I once sat down to eat in a restaurant and on the table was a small book that listed out all the food and calories, fat etc. There was over 1500 calories in just one burger! Not including a side at all. Needless to say, I got up and left and haven’t been back sense. That list really saved me since I hadn’t ordered yet.
We do need more veggie options and not just something fried or gobbed with cheese.

Yeah, right. If we didn’t regulate the restaurant business do you think they would worry about health standards (like they are forced to deal with now, via regulation)?
Things are regulated for a reason. Just allowing for consumer demand to shape all restaurants or businesses to be optimal is naive at best.

If they would just stop expectorating on the food, then I’d be happy, (unless the cook is a beautiful woman, and then you WANT her to spit on the food), but other than that rare exception, nutrional info about items on menus in restaurants should start with, “saliva”.
Fact. True. Believe it.
