Do-overs in Mich., Fla.?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
With Hillary Clinton’s victories in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island, is it time to consider full-fledged primary do-overs in Michigan and Florida, where the results were invalidated because those states broke party rules by holding primaries too early?
These do-overs could be held the same day as Pennsylvania’s (April 22), Super Tuesday III. Although it would cost millions for the states to hold new elections, there would be a mass infusion of candidate campaign dollars into the Florida and Michigan economies.
Or, should the Democrats simply accept the earlier primary results, despite the fact that Clinton was the only Democratic candidate on the ballot in Michigan, and there was little or no campaigning in Florida?
Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean has endorsed do-overs, although questions remain whether the states or the national party would pay.

No “do-overs” for FLA or MI — the voters need to hold their own state party leaders accountable for screwing up their vote relevance! What, do we also want some baseball batters to argue with an umpire about being allowed to have 4 strikes, all because they want to overlook the rules???
By Duh!?

This could all have been avoided by simply having a rotating system for “first” to vote in primaries.
Be it by state(s) or sections (mid-west, north, south, ect), just rotate it ever 4 years and stick with it. How hard is this?

Attn: Goldie
Florida is run by Republicans right now, both the governor and the State Legislature. It was the Republicans of that state the moved the primary forward and therefore causing it to break the rules of the DNC. Still seem fair? That a bunch of AMERICANS that voted democrat won’t count because the Republican leaders of that state moved up the primary?

Sorry Hillary, a do-over would be fun, EXCEPT THAT THERE ARE RULES to this. My God, you can not rewrite the rules weeks and weeks after the fact to give one campaign a better chance to win. I can’t belive the Clinton campaign has the nerve to suggest this. Clinton has now fully embraced the Karl Rove-perfected tactics of cheating and fearmongering.

Michigan and Florida have already voted. Their votes should count. There is no need for a re-vote. The delegates should be assigned based on the results.
I am selfish in saying this. I want to a bitter, nasty war develop among the Dummycrats. I want to see Hillary Clinton steal the election. Then maybe African-Americans will see that white liberal elites only desire to subjugate blacks so they will keep voting Dummycrat. In a white liberal’s view, blacks only existed to serve their electoral success.
African Americans need to emancipate themselves from the Dummycrat Plantation. African Americans are much more aligned PHILISOPHICALLY with Republicans than Dummycrats. Unfortunately, traditional African-American institutions (namely churches), advocacy organizations and leaders are shackled to the Dummycrats.
Dummycrats continue to advocate open borders allowing illegal aliens to come here and steal jobs that otherwise would go to African Americans. Dummycrats run every major city in America, yet the schools in those cities that serve African-Americans are abyssmal.
Wake up Black People. Your preacher may have sold out the Bible in favor of Dummycrat orthodoxy, but you don’t have to. Break away from the government dependency. Take control of your own life. You will never thrive expecting the government to take care of your financial, educational, health care, safety needs. Remember it was the same government that enforced Jim Crow. Government cannot be trusted. Neither can the Dummycrats.

Looking at the likely candidates for office (Giant Douce and Turd Sandwich) I’d say that this entire election season could stand for a do-over. Maybe this time we could actually bother to find out what the candidates stand for, turn off the Main Stream Media, cancel our subscriptions to biased papers like this one, and actually treat the race with the importance it deserves.
You folks give more thought to a choice of cars that you won’t even keep for as long as a president.
You want cradle to grave butt-wiping and care and want to re-make the planet in your own twisted image. Well, now it looks like the pointless war is going to cost $3 Trillion. Current debt is another 9 Trillion. The new budget is another 3 Trillion. The pending obligations for Social Security and Medicare total over $70 Trillion, and all of these 3 idiots are going to perpetuate the empire abroad, raise taxes, nationalize health care, and keep the Federal Reserve in the business of destroying the dollar and the economy.
Menken was right. Democracy is the belief that the people deserve to get the government they ask for…good and hard!

As Charlie shows, americans are too busy insulting the world and killing everyone who doesn’t obey our commands to ever look seriously into the mirror and realize that we have thrown away the best damn country anyone ever saw. As an american, China scares me too. But so long as we continue to spend, spend, spend they will always have the real power over us. Ignorant clowns like Charlie who get their complete poliical and economic education from Fox News and other MSM outlets are oblivious to the ramifications.
Maybe once our demise comes, you and your kangaroo-loving types might see fit to let us liberty-loving types to leave this place before the train cars come for the patriots. The planet will need somewhere for the remnant to hide until the passing of the new Reich.

It sure would be nice to not have a job like Tamika. Who has that much time to blog except some welfare recipient.
If the Dummycrats wanted to do something about the $10 Trillion debt, they would have already done something about it since they control both houses of Congress. Instead they want to expand entitlement programs and put us deeper into debt.
I agree that we need to address the national debt and balance the budget. John McCain is the only candidate with a FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE record, not Hillary or B. Hussein Obama.
Tamika needs to get her facts straight. There have not been 32,000 Americans killed in Iraq. It’s more like 3,200. Who cares about dead Iraqis? Whatever the number, that’s fewer potential terrorists on the planet.
Tamika exhibits a concern about all the illegal aliens. Hillary and B. Hussein Obama will only open the floodgates so more African Americans are displaced in the workforce. Only Republicans are willing to address this issue.
Tamika wants cheap oil and gas. We have expensive gas because the Dummycrats are thwarting every opportunity to increase our domestic oil supply through exploration, especially in ANWR. Hillary voted against it. Whether, Hillary or B. Hussein Obama became President, both would pursue policies to constrain oil supplies, limit refining capacity while adhering to the discredited notion of Global Warming. Those policies will cause a surge in gas prices.
Judging from Tamika’s grammatical mistakes and poor spelling, one can only surmise she is a product of the inept government school system.
There will be a vagina in the White House - Cindy McCain’s.

The time has come for America to realize that we are sinking, and sinking quick! We have to change the guards for they have been on post to long and are seeing what they want; instead of seeing what is actually there. I don’t care who win the President or look down on who are running; what is important to America is seeing that we do what is correct. America; having homelessness, hunger, joblessness and a education system that is looked down upon by other countries and yet, we are the most powerful Country in the World! People are laughing at us because we tend to take care of everybody else, and let our people fall by the wayside. A changing of the Guards can reach out and attempt to start moving in the right directions. We have people whom we elect stay in office for years and do nothing and following the line to continue to get paid and look at issues that concerns only them. When will America stop draining its tax payers of it hard earned dollars and create a sense of unity and be devine over the ongoing issess that continue to haunt us in the face. Gas prices…unheard of and food prices, no words can fit this because we have to much of resources and yet, fail to use them and we pay for things that we have someone else to send us. Jobs, homes, food, water, fuel is what America long history has been about. We are pricing ourselves right off the face of the earth…and people feel and see it. The question is; how long will we continue to keep our heads above water?

I just love seeing the hypocrisy of the Democrats. They screamed in 2000 that every vote should count, yet in 2008 tell Florida and Michigan voters their votes DON’T COUNT because they didn’t vote the way the Democrats wanted them to. This is a good lesson for the rest of us Americans - when you don’t hold kowtow to the Democrats, you don’t count!
BTW VoiceOfReason, you are a typical Democrat idiot! Yes the Florida legislature and governor are Republicans, but it is the national party that decides how to punish the state for voting too early. Notice that the Republican Party penalized Florida and Michigan HALF of their votes, not all of them. The year 2000 let every vote count crowd (except, of course, those military votes that they sent armies of lawyers to Florida to invalidate) are the ones who decided that Florida and Michigan voters now don’t count. Stop blaming Republicans for your party’s lack of concern for the American voter. I also like the way that you conveniently forgot to mention that the Michigan House, as well as the Michigan Governor are Democrats. The state is majority Democrat. Just another example of a Democrat misleading American voters.

Tamika,
What is an “incentive racist”? You have to resort to name calling and making “racist” assertions when you have no facts in which to debate.
I can assure you, if I were running this country the dollar would be stronger, we would be searching for more oil, the government would get out of Americans’ lives, China and Russia would cower at my voice, Ahmadinejad would discover there are not 72 virgins; I would arrange a face-to-face meeting for Hugo Chavez with Satan, and you would no longer receive welfare. You would either get a job or starve.
You can advocate a socialist policy of redistributing wealth from producers like me to leeches like you. That will only result in substantial capital outflow from the USA to countries that encourage capitalism and entrepreneurship. The net effect will be economic deterioration at home and less government revenues to pay your welfare.
You can vote for the Dummycrat nominee if you wish. It will only prolong your stay in poverty.

If your only reason for not voting for Obama is because you think he is a Muslim, then you are an idiot. Do you research and stop accepting everything that comes out of one candidates mouth. Make your own decision based on research. If you knew anything, you’d know that Obama is not a Muslim. And you shouldn’t discriminate someone based on their name. Hillary’s big thing is that she has a lifetime of experience. Yet this experience made her vote for the war, when the majority of the US believes that going to war was the “wrong choice”. I don’t bash anyone’s political beliefs and you are free to vote for whomever you desire, my only wish is that you’d make an informed decision and not base your decision on someone’s name or the way they look. After all, we would be living in a very different world today if it hadn’t been for Martin Luther King, Jr…..

I get that Hillary thinks that Obama is has a lightweight resume. She is asking what he has accomplished. What I don’t get is what is Hillary’s record. Why is she qualified to be president? What has she done? Let’s list her top three accomplishments.
While she was first lady she spent most of her time in a failed health care initiatiave, mad at her husband for his intern follies. How could she have learned much while she hunted for the “lost” billing records of the Rose Law Firm, tried to defend the firing of the White House Travel office, and managed the Vince Foster suicide. What did she accomplish? Not much. Deny. Deny. Deny. Is that a record to be president?

For all of you who believe like chris, “Sorry Hillary, a do-over would be fun, EXCEPT THAT THERE ARE RULES to this.”, there is also a RULE that a candadite must have a minimum number of delegates (not “the most” delegates) to win the nomination. It looks like neither cadadate will have enough! Thus, the Michigan and FL delegates WILL need to be counted, or the convention will be brokered. Is THAT what you want? In either scenerio, Hillary has the advantage. This is certainly going to be entertaining, and beneficial to John MCcain.

Tamika- Did you pay any income tax last year? No, I didn’t ask if you filed a return, I asked if you paid any tax. Most people with your intelligence level do not earn enough to pay taxes. Probably you received an EITC refund. You are solid evidence of why Hillary’s supporters come from the un-educated and less than brilliant portion of our population.
And no, there can never be a fair do-over in Michigan or Florida. Are you going to put John Edwards and all the others who were candidates then back on the ballot?

Difference between Democrats and Republicans
Democrats — welfare for individuals Republicans - welfare for corporations
Democrats — spend on social issues Republicans - spend on war
Democrats — believe government should stay out of people’s bedrooms
Republicans - only want government out of airport stalls
Democrats — no problem gay or straight Republicans - no problems behind closed doors only.
Democrats — believe you reduce a deficit by raising income and cutting spending
Republicans - believe you reduce a deficit by cutting income and increasing spending.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn’t the DNC come out and say “Don’t hold an early primary because your delegates/votes won’t count if you choose to do so.” What did Florida and Michigan do? Hold early primaries. That is like telling a child not to touch a hot stove. The child touches it anyway. “Hurt like hell didn’t it.”

There is a reason we have rules. These rules were agreed to by many of the people who are yelling the loudest now, including both governors. The people of FL and MI should hold their “leaders” accountable for leading them down this path. They were told what the consequences would be for going that route and they chose to do so anyway. I’m not against people making whatever decisions they think they should make, but then you must be willing to accept the consequences rather than trying to get others to bear them for you. Hillary agreed to the rules. Barack agreed to the rules. Neither protested at the time. Neither should protest now. It would have be real leadership to have the vision to see where this was going and then to speak up on behalf of so many who would have their vote diminished. To yell and scream now about a smoke screen of “disenfranchisment” is not leadership, it is grandstanding. Most fair-minded people are willing to accept a candidate that comes out of a fair process…there will be too much skepticism about a candidate that comes from an unfair process or from a process where the rules were changed after the process started. The chance for real leadership was missed.

The only possible way to count FL and MI would be a do-over. To try and count the votes they had would be a miscarriage of justice. Now that Obamary are much closer after this week, it does not smack as much of bias. However, there is still some bias because Hillary did do more campaining in those states than did Obama, I would assume.
If they do it, the re-vote should be completely funded by the campaigns and the Democrat Party. The taxpayers should not be on the hook for a partisan matter.
However, as a conservative, I am enjoying the circus atmosphere of the Democrat nominating process. The more they look like a bunch of clowns (more so than do they do anyway) the more it helps to prevent the election of one of these two potentially disastrous candidates in November.

No DO OVER the rules were made and explained to everyone 15 months ago. If the people of Florida and Michagin are unhappy, then they should vote out the idiots in office who chose not to follow the rules. Lets not pretend that we just realized that the vote wouldn’t count. Both states had this information months ago.

Of course not. Each state understood what was involved before this process even began and now to have a Republican Gov (FL) to say that every votes need to be counted is insane and this is totally an attempt to side track the Democratic Party. From those of us who don’t know, he has endorsed McCain. Folk, these rules should stay in place until all of this is over. Let’s move on and allow the remaining states to have it Primaries and America decide who we feel will be the best representative for the Dem Party. Period!

What’s all this “Florida and Michigan knew” BS? Like the State of Florida is an entity that makes dinner plans, or decides to move it’s primary. The poor decision of the politicians, including the Republican Governor, shouldn’t disenfranchise millions.
All we hear is how Hillary will do anything to get elected, watching the Obamamaniacs do the same just confirms it’s politics as usual for both candidates.

NO..NO..NO HELL NO! on the do-over. Hillary agreed to the rules and so did the rest of them, now they want to change the rules once in the game that is not fair because that means by doing the primaries over that would disenfranchise the voters for Edwards, and Kucinich.
Hillary is up to her dirty tricks as usual. PEOPLE WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO WAKE UP! She is losing and now she is whining. GO AWAY CROOKS
There is a trial going forward in California against Bill and soon to drag her into it..she is trying to sway you fools away from that and the Peter Paul, Vince Foster, Whitewater, Mena, Etc. the list goes one with corruption. WHY IS THE MEDIA SILENCE ON THIS? They want McWarCain to win. WAKE UP SHEEP!

Count every vote? I live in Florida. We knew the rules going in. So did Hillary and Barack.
The only person that wants to “count every vote” is the one that is a LOSER without Florida and Michigan.
The only one that wants to “count every vote” is the one that always thinks that the rules DON’T APPLY TO HER. Just like Bill, Hill will do anything to win… lie, cheat. change rules mid-stream, buy off “super delegates”, disregard the regular delagates elected fairly by the voting public. Just like Bill.
She is no better than he. There are several women politicians more qualified than she. Ones that have run corporations, run cities, run counties, run states. But NO. She has 35 years “experience”. I guess that is what you call putting up with a philandering, cheating spouse because you are POWER HUNGRY. You ignore everything just to be NEAR power. She has never done ANYTHING on her own. OBAMA ROCKS!! This from a white Democrat!!

By God, if they permit a do-over in FL and MI, I want a do-over of the 2004 election between Bush & Gore!
Let the original results in FL and MI count! Hillary won and she deserves those delegates!
Obama is a no good talking suit. Howard Dean, John Kerry, and the Kennedy’s all plan to use him as their puppet and that’s why they back him. They see an easy avenue to push their own agendas forward. Hillary wouldn’t permit such a thing.

No wonder we have such a screwed-up system with screwed-up people running it; after reading a good many posts in this section - there are a lot of stupid people out there. First of all, it wasn’t Bush or the repubs who decided not to have FL and MI degelates count - it was the Democratic party - trying to punish those states for having primaries early - With Sir Hillary agreeing to it. But SHE wants to change the rules (is anybody really suprized) - only because she thinks she won - where Obama wasn’t even on the ballot. She - and many of you (according to your posts) are idiots. And then there are other dumba**es like joebrave out there that need to be dragged by their balls and shipped-off to some place where he is the only white person and see if he would still talk about dragging people behind pick-up truncks - you white piece of crap.
