Will Obama win affect Georgia’s black leadership?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Barack Obama’s victory in Georgia was built, as in South Carolina, on a wave of black votes. Early projections also show him halving white male voters Hillary Clinton.
Do you think the primary results will have any impact on black leadership in Georgia? Remember there were some angry words exchanged over Andy Young’s and John Lewis’ backing of Clinton.

most american blacks like cynthia tucker vote unfortunately vote only for democrats and they always vote for a black candidate.it reminds of the uneducated ghettos back in india where they vote for people of their community.
ga and south carolina democratic primary was a waste of money.we knew what results of democratic primary is going to be.

I’m not sure if Obama’s will will affect the Georgia loeadership. I only know that if a TV commentator tells me one more time that Missouri is a “bell weather” state, I am going to Plan B and watch Lawrence Welk.

I am an African American and I started out supporting Clinton. I felt Obama did not have enough experience and no one on the Republican ticket peaked my interest. I have since switched my support to Obama because I believe he is the best candidate to reach across party lines to drive solutions and compromises. How does it impact current black so called leadership….TIME TO CHANGE THE GUARD!!!!!

Blacks cant even take care of their own community.
how can BARACK HUSSIEN OBAMA WHO WAS DESERTED AS A CHILD BY HIS KENYAN MUSLIM FATHER LIKE MILLIONS OF BLACK KIDS IN USA WHO GROW UP IN USA IN A SINGLE PARENT HOME TAKE CARE OF THE COUNTRY.
BLACKS NEED TO GIVE UP COCAINE, MARIJUANA,ALCOHOL,BEGGING, MUGGING,ROBBING and shooting PEOPLE . they NEED TO FINISH HIGH SCHOOL ATLEAST, START HAVING KIDS AFTER MARRIAGE AND PAYING CHILD SUPPORT BEFORE QUALIFYING TO LEAD THE GREATEST COUNTRY OF THE WORLD.
LOOK AT ALL CORRUPT BLACK MAYORS OF ALL MAJOR CITIES OF USA
cant imagine having hussein obama as the president of free world.

ASINDIAN, AG, or whatever you call yourself. I too support the best candidate for the job regardless of sex or race. Before you start to group all Black voters and thanking God we don’t vote like White, Asians and Hispanics, you need to first learn how to spell republican and then realize that all Black people are not the same just as all Whites or other races are not the same. It boils down to class and economics. You also talk about wasting money, I hope you get your money back for those english classes!

ag sounds too ignorant to be true. it has often been pointed out that black people vote for democrats because of the historic racism of the republicans. this ‘ag’ character is ignorant of american history and current events. This does not mean that black people vote for black people and what does he/she base this opinion on? There have not been any major black candidates to vote for before, so what are they talking about? black people have always voted for the best candidate - with few exceptions and despite demogogues who urge otherwise. And then he/she has the nerve to suggest that others don’t vote along racial lines- what planet is he on? Asians - like himself don’t vote for the best candidate but usually the white one - unless they’re younger and American born.

You too Bo! You’re probably as dumb as your name. “I a not a white american as you think”…what a redneck. I bet you probably also married your cousin. And get your facts straight. There are more whites on cocaine, heroin, meth and other hardcore drugs than blacks. There are also more whites who don’t take care of their kids. At least we don’t KILL & MOLEST ours. Your people are sick! There are also more white drop outs than blacks, you obviously being a prime example. All the corrupt black mayors can’t compare to all the corrupt white politicians. The only difference is that the media is white owned and keeps secrets just like the catholic church. I honestly don’t know why Obama wants a job that your people have screwed up so bad. History has shown that blacks are smarter and more superior than whites given a level playing field. Just look at professional athletics and you’ll get the picture.

MR DADDY I SURE KNOW HOW TO WRITE AND SPELL CORRECT ENGLISH. UNLIKE SOME OF YOUR BLACK BROTHERS WHO ARE BORN HERE YET REMAIN ON WELFARE ALL THEIR LIFE AND DONT KNOW A WORD OF ENGLISH.
ALSO NOTE I DID NOT SAY ALL BLACKS VOTE FOR RACE, I SAID ONLY 90% AS THEY DID TODAY IN DELAWARE.

But you still can’t deny that blacks are voting mostly as a group, for Obama. The latest tally puts his support at 80%. There’s clearly some affinity for him just because of his race, and a groupthink mentality among African-Americans.

Like elsewhere in the US, leadership in Georgia’s African-American community is in transition politically speaking. As in the White community of Georgia, the African-American community is repsonding to a new emerging heterogenus type of thinking. In other words, the viewpoints of Georgia’s African-American is no longer shaped primarily by segregation and its residuals.
In the Democratic primary, the choice was between “the historical significance factor” and “staying with a proven friend (Hillary).” Georgia’s African-American leadership is no different than the White leadership…it has differing viewpoints, e.g.,the differing viewpoints among the conservatives, moderates, evangilicals and others within the Republican Party.
The socio-religious and other divisive factors that were present in the last election will not play the same way in this one, even in Republican Party. The primary reason for the variance is POOR PERFORMANCE OF and DISAPPOINTMENT in the ruling party at both the national and state levels.
Talking points and soundbites got it the last time. However, this time around people remember what was promised, know what was delivered and how the elected people behaved.

ag based it on the fact that the overwhelming number of black people have voted for the black candidate. If any other demographic had been so striking—say, Hillary had gotten 80% of the women’s vote—there would be no question of saying women pretty much were voting for another women.
African-Americans are voting for Obama because he’s one of their own. Duh.

To Bo: Your message is very hateful. Please, don’t think that because Hilary is white and a female, that she is out for your cause. Obama and Hilary have a lot of points that are very similar. On the big issues of education, constituional amendments for gay marriage and ect. They are pretty similar. I say this to say don’t bash your “black family” because you think that they are voting for a candidate that is black. We all know that Obama is NOT the FIRST black man to run for president. History tells us that we DON’T vote for race.

No, Bo, you’re not a white American. YOU’RE JUST WHITE, PLAIN & SIMPLE. Take a look at the rest of the majority white-race states and see how a lot of non-black people are smart enough to look beyond race. SENATOR BARACK OBAMA IS THE FABRIC OF AMERICA!!!!!

Barack Obama is a very formidable and CAPABLE candidate, but having said that Black people need to stop allowing themselves to feel convicted for voting for Barack because he looks like us.
I spend inordinate amounts of time listening to people, talk radio, etc and I will tell you, different groups play this game all the time. As much infighting as there is with Conservatives, you best d@mn well believe that their talking heads are urging.. even BEGGING their constituents to vote Republican at all costs; no matter who the Republican nominee is. Sounds like a monolithic perspective to me.
Middle aged White women overwhelmingly came out in support of Hilary in these primaries. The Hispanics do the same when it comes to their candidates. So Black people wake up and break the bonds of this mind control thing we have been under for so long in this country. No group is going to care about you or look after you the way you will for yourself. WAKE UP!!

Blacks shouldn’t be allowed to vote if the only reason they vote for a candidate is because of their skin color.

I read your opinions and think: Here we have been royally screwed by our present administration in the Whitehouse and all you can do is attack eachother about nothing. We as Americans (ALL COLORS) should be putting our collective heads together to elect the best person that will lead us in the direction that begin to solve our problems. To name a few: unwanted war, a bottoming out economy, failing education, drugs and all that hurts us as a people. There is to much at stake here. WAKE UP PEOPLE

To the bigots posting… as they say in the south “bless your hearts.” Lets see, I was adopted, I am white, and my adopted father still left my mother, brother and I. I could pick on every “group” ha ha ha but we ALL are in the world TOGETHER- so instead of sounding like an uneducated fool- here is an idea VOLUNTEER. Give of yourself to other people… all politics aside, get a life! Amen, get your English classes, and typing class money back!
