A season of turnarounds
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
In a political season of stunning turnarounds, this may be the most surprising:
The Republican field seems settled around John McCain, while the Democratic field is still in upheaval, with Obama and Clinton still in contention.

McCain is not a Republican. With his values and the way he sides with democrates all over the place, tax cuts, insurance, illegals. Theres no way he can call himself a Republican. He even considered becoming John Kerrys Vice Presidential running mate. Give me a break. No - He is no Republican.

“McCain is not a Republican.”
Ok, but in another, more literal way, he is a Republican. In fact, he is about to be the GOP nominee.
I am about sick of being told by others who or what a conservative is supposed to be.
Don’t like McCain? Don’t vote for him. But as the Florida primary shows, there are plenty of Republicans (myself included) who feel just fine about him.

I voted for the tallest guy! James Oglethorpe, George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Ronald Reagan were all tall men and made Great Leaders!
Vote for the tall guy with the nicest family!!! He will look good in the White House! That’s what it’s all about…right?

And once again we hold our noses and vote for the lesser of two evils. Anyone else sick of that? I wish we could get a candidate who is not a career politition. Then again, I guess that’s like borrowing money from someone who is not a banker….

The most sensible candidate, from my perspective, left standing has the least support. End the war, secure the borders, reduce government and taxes = Ron Paul. But the peeps seem to favor “100 more years of war if necessary” McCain and universal health care (bigger government) Hillary.

Of course McCain isn’t a Republican… he’s a conservative.
It’s no wonder the GOP faithful don’t recognize what that means any more.

Huckabee will win the South! Are you nuts over at the AJC all Democrats? Is that why you think McCain is gonna get the GOP nomination? Trust me John McCain is not a true Republican! Mike Huckabee is a true Republican and Southern Baptist! Remember we are in the Bible Belt people and no way Mitt Rominy will win here lol nor McCain!

Why don’t Tucker & Bookman have the guts to allow blog entries on the crap they refer to as ‘editorials’?
Can’t believe Tucker’s not ranting more of her Voter ID drivel and the make believe legitimate voters that she claims will be affected. Does this woman actually know anything about politics other than every issue is just another opportunity to raise the race card?

Hey, 4 Huckabee - you should be advised that posting a true comment on this liberal blog will likely result in having it deleted (as mine was earlier). I’m still laughing about it as it obviously ruffled a few left wing feathers!!

Amen, Pompano. These inept AJC “journalists” delight in raising controversial issues but could care less about the opinions of mainstream America. In response to your question, I am positive that Tucker knows nothing of politics and will pull out the race card at the drop of a hat. That’s obviously all she knows how to do. Dogs bark, ducks quack, cows moo and Tucker plays the race card. It is a simple product of combining estrogen, emotion and a general (albeit warped) perception of not being treated fairly. Maybe an AJC group hug might be in order for her.

Can’t figure out why so conservatives are enamored with Mitt Romney. He’s a liberal masquerading in Ronald Reagan suits!! Being rich with good hair doesn’t make him a conservative.

Why you should vote for Hillary?
Talk is cheap. Can anyone name one thing Obama has done even in IL?
I’m involved in the financial lives of so may Americans (Credit & money Management).
While Obama claims he did not vote for Iraq war, did anyone of you think with yourslef it was because he was NOT holding ANY PUBIC OFFICE.
Not until 2-3 weeks ago, all you would hear Obama say was “CHANGE” nothing else. No concet or facts to back it up. Meanwhile, Hillary was repeatedly talking about the same issues and cacts (Healthcare, education, children, etc).
FINALLY, when he decied to discuss his plans, he copy cat a good portion of it from Hiallry’s then he changed some (to include changing Hillary’s $5 Billion to his own $10 Bil).
How much experience does Obama have to compare with Hillary, Macian, Romney. For god’s sake he just took the senate seat a year and half ago.
Obama has no respect for the Flag, National Anthem, doesn’t know how to handle an opponent (State of Union). How can he deal with the head of other countries- in opposition to U.S.
As a consumer advocate, I call Attorney Generals, congress and Senator’s offices around the country to help senior Citizens. Guess what. I called Obama’s office TWICE to get help for IL seniors and also help with Lisa Madigan (IL-AG) office; his office never even returned my calls. I’m in GA, wanted to help his citizens and he wouldn’t even lift a finger to call.
Hillary has been a successful senator for 7 years, 8 years very active First Lady, Years ARK First Lady and has done a lot for women. Obama, 3 years Senator (That’s IT!!??).
Clinton years economy was great and even in AR, what changes did Obama make to even benefit IL?
Obama hasn’t said anything about Healthcare, Our Children’s health or education while Hillary has been on the subject the entire time.
I listen to NH and SC debate, it seems Obama needs Edwards to complete his sentences, plus haven’t heard any plan’s Obama’s has, beside “change.”
I can go on for ever. However, I hope I did educate some of you who blindly follow any FOOL just because he says we need **change.”“
Show me which candidate has experience, done more for you- your family and friends, and for women around the U.S. —-besides Hillary?
Among all candidates, Obama is the least experience one on the other hand Hillary has years fro AR to D.C.
This presidency must be won by the most qualified candidate, not “race” or “false promises”.
Unless proven otherwise, my family and friends votes are going to benefit millions.

One thing in favor of Obama - in today’s politics perhaps:
Least Experienced = Least Corrupt
These days, I view “Experience” among politicians as negative.
