Don’t count Hillary (and Bill) out
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Shed no tears for Hillary Clinton (or, if you’re a Hillaryphobe, don’t start cheering yet). She had one bad night in Iowa, but she and the “comeback kid” are often at their best when their backs are to the wall. Watch for her to show her mettle in New Hampshire and South Carolina.
But this could be the end of the line for John Edwards.

Why would it be the end of the line for Edwards when he beat Hillary? And he did it with hardly any money and hardly any media attention.
Hillary is part of the old establishment. I think Obama and Edwards exposed her last night as a media creation. I see her out of this by 2/5.

Isn’t it typical of flip-flop Hillary. A win in Iowa was going to be huge and set the tone. But since she lost, it is no big deal……ssdd

Paul - It’s Bill who needs to watch his back. Hillary might need the sympathy vote in order to pull this thing off.

Ditto to Paul’s 8:17. Bill Clinton, Democrats’ most beloved, will be vicious and destructive to anyone that stands in the way of his wife’s rightful place.
Clinton’s “at their best”????
We heard it here at Cynthia’s blog.

there’s no such thing as a “Hillaryphobe” - no one on God’s green earth is afraid of Hillary Clinton and also who is the “comeback kid”? - I hope you’re not referring to Obama because he’s not a ‘kid’ and what is or could he possibly be coming back from???

The comeback kid knuckled down and got back on message: “It’s the economy, stupid.” Mrs. Clinton’s problem is she has no message, and the emporor has been exposed as being naked. People do not trust her and think she panders. Going to New Hampshire to try and reinvent herself only solidifies this negative. Her future is about as bright as mud.

Cynthia, I believe that Bill is at his best when he has a female - other than his wife - with her back to the wall.

End of the line for Edwards? His finish positions him to become the nominee as the reality that he is the only electable candidate the Democrats have settles in with voters. Any of the three might make a fine president, but race (and inexperience) and gender (and being completely unlikable) doom Obama and Clinton and cedes the race to the Republicans.

DD-Debra: Re Bill watching his back: If Hillary becomes President and the (reported) rough-and-tumble family feuds continue, will Hillary’s Secret Service protection trump Bill’s [Secret Service Protection]?

Dueling Secret Service contingents aside, she wants it more than he ever did. He couldn’t have gotten it without her ruthlessness. She’ll neutralize him only if it benefits her, but she want hesitate if push comes to shove.

Congrats to Obama. Hillary finished strong enough. Her post-poll speech was endearing, and New Hampshire will bring the momentum she deserves.
It was her daughter Chelsea’s goon-face which took Hillary down those critical votes in the end. Makeover much?
What a shame. Hillary: Send Chelsea on a good-will round the world charity cruise. NOW.

Bill and Hillary are fine people. I just don’t want them in the White House again. Besides if we were all honest with ourselves, putting Hillary in the White House will only mean politics as usual. And last but not least, Bill and Hillary can both lie with a straight face and that just dosen’t set well with me.

This is definitely wishful thinking, Cynthia. Hillary has no way to spin Iowa as a win (like Bill did with his ‘92 2nd place in NH), and she was essentially tied with Obama in NH to begin with. Obama’ll likely take the first 3 primaries, especially given that SC African-Americans now realize he’s for real, and after that the game is over.

I would love to have a black president, but I just dont believe it. It’s Hillary. She finished strong enough, and she’ll outdistance everyone over the winter.
The clear frontrunner will emerge. It will be a woman. A wonderful woman, who is smart and down-to-earth and funny and compassionate. America will fall in love with their new matriarch. I think we all agree that our constitution could use some fashion-accessorizing. Hillary knows enough to look in the mirror and take off one bauble before she leaves the white house too. I dont know what that means. I hope I haven’t ruined Hillary’s campaign.

What change is Obama going to bring? How is he going to make this country better? He’s going to raise taxes and ruin the economy. If he brings the troops home, which I highly doubt he’ll do, we will surely get bombed again. Don’t believe me then look at all the times we were hit under Clinton. Democrats live in a fantasy world and offer NO NEW IDEAS! I don’t like Huckabee either and none of the candidates for that matter.

Caucus Carcass -
The Constitution has already been accessorized - it’s called the Bill of Rights.
Besides, Hillary and her ilk don’t give a flip about the Constitution; they simply have the courts to make up the law for them as they go along.

Just curious as to why the color of a persons skin is going to make him a good president? Is his black pigment going to end islamic fascism? Is his black skin going to make the economy better? Surely, his socialist health care isn’t going to make the health care system better. If you idiot liberals think “universal socialist healthcare” is going to be great then you might want to visit your local dmv and understand that the way that it is run is exactly the way you will be treated. You people really live in a fantasy world.

Substitute “Hillary” for Cheney or Bush or Gonzalez, or the little mad genius Rove and good pal Scooter; then your statement would probably make more sense. As it stands now, it’s just short of ridiculous.

Hey DebbieDoRight and Caucus Carcass,
I guess bj’s in the oval office, lying under oath, withholding documents requested by the judicial authorities and destroying court requested evidence are all part of the executive priveleges as well. These two are more crooked than a spiral and everybody knows it. Bill didnt lose his law license for doing the right thing, sweetheart.
There would be some firsts if the big B does win though. It means the first time we have a woman as the President and the first time we have a rapist as the first lady, or husband, slave, or whatever she decides to call him.

Any body that vote for Obama for our next President deserve just what you are going to get another “Bush” all talk and no action. As for you DebbieDoRight you don’t no what you are talking about. Bill Clinton was one of the best President that we have ever had along with President Kennedy and President Carter. I hope you will never need health care because with Obama you will never get it. He never once during his campaign did he mention (maybe once) that he would help people that need help care he only talked about bringing our troops home and nothing else. He talks a good talk but he will not full fill his promise to the American people maybe with a little more years of experience he could be one of the great President to come along in a long time but this is not the time. Maybe in four years from now. Experience is the best thing for this Nation. All you woman who do not support Hillary to be our first female President is just jealousy. You should be happy that women have come this far and should stand behind her for making a turning point for the Nation and showing the Nation that women can be “President and not sit back and wait for the men to always run our county. As for “Oprah” they should take her woman card away because she only wants Obama because he is black. She has always said in the past that she was really great friends with the Clinton well where I come from friends stick together and support one another to the end of time. Oprah is a big fat “B*h” and lier. “GO HILLARY YOU WILL BE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT” and bring our troops home and you will look out for all the senior citizen that need help with their health care. All you younger people that still have your parent alive think about how they are going to pay for their medical bill because I no you want help them and one day you will be old to and need help and Obama is not the President that will help you.

Where has this discussion gone! Poor Leon, you must be completely ignorant…Clinton, Carter, and Kennedy our best presidents!! I about fell over. Not familiar with Kennedy’s term, I was to young. During Carter’s term all I remember was trying to buy a first home with 13% interest rates. During Clinton’s term(s) I had to explain the meaning of BJ to my young son! They were great alright!

At some point, folks have to look at the candidate and ask themselves .. “Do I really like this person; their character; their values; and their priorities?” When I really look at Obama, my answer is YES. When I look at Hillary, my answer is ‘NOT AGAIN’!

I agree with Cool Bob’s comment that he posted yesterday. I hope all of those black leaders with slave mentalities - John Lewis, Al Sharpton and yes even a celebrity or two (Magic Johnson) fell stupid. I guess they thought Hillary would give them status. If I were Obama now I would not even give them the time of day.

Sandy if you think you know so much about leadership then why don’t you run for President oh I forgot you don’t know the difference between a back end of a elephant from the front end. How dare you use the word Rapist. No body got raped. Why do all you stupid people always want to use the word rape on these profile are you’ll fantasize about wanting to be and wondering what it would be like. As for you Marcus were you a shame when you got your first BJ. I bet not. Probably lay around in the dorm and talk to your buddies about how you got some poor stupid girl to give you one because she didn’to how to say no. Now that you had to explain to your son what a BJ is he want have to come and ask you all about it when he goes out and experience his on. As for you Sandy stick with the Rep they can use a “B” like you to support them. Hillary will do just find with out you. Now go back to what you do best “Nothing” and don’t keep complaining because women don’t have a say because no body wants to give them a chance. A bj in the oval office is just a good of a place as being in the back seat of your car. All politician are some what crooked or they would not be where they are today. Makes you just want to get on the Bandwagon so stick with the Rep. they all can use someone like you and show them disillusioned a person you are.
