Would you report your children to police?

Last month, six teens were charged with breaking into 150 cars in Alpharetta and Johns Creek. (Read the full story)

The Northview High School juniors and seniors are accused of taking a range of goods from iPods and laptops to purses and golf clubs in a robbing spree that lasted through the Thanksgiving weekend.

They later confessed to Alpharetta police, and Wednesday morning will go before a Fulton County judge.

All six young men — ages 17 and 18, so they’ll be tried as adults — may have gone free, save for the actions of one parent.

This parent, who has asked police to protect her or his identity, saw the stash of pilferred goods from the holiday weekend heist and called the law.

The amount and value of the goods they took amounts to felonies for four of the six students, police said.

As a parent knowing the type of trouble your child could get into for such deeds, would you turn them in to police?
