Is Sandy Springs Going To The Dogs?

The City Council’s 2008 budget earmarks $25,000 to transform nearly one acre of city parkland into Sandy Springs’ first fenced-in, off-the-leash pooch park. The park site’s top contender: 22-acre Ridgeview Park on South Trimble Road.

Dog lovers say the space is long overdue and have promised to provide park benches, doggie toys and monthly clean up. Sandy Springs will be responsible for fencing, irrigation and lawn care. Both sides are aiming for a fall opening.

NorthSide.Talk wants to know what you think: is this a good use of city funds? Are you anxiously awaiting the time when you can let Fido frolic freely?
