Love Shack: Free speech or a zoning issue?

A wag on the Northside Vent offers this analysis on Johns Creek’s battle with the owner of the Love Shack adult entertainment store:

“The Love Shack is not a constitutional question, it is a local zoning issue. Many supported cityhood to have more input in zoning issues — this is one.”

Roswell running circles around traffic

Imagine Atlanta’s Beltline without the development headaches. Just a scenic ring around the city with people strolling along sidewalks and riding in adjacent bike lanes, all of it connecting points of interest.

Roswell is not just imagining it. It’s going to build it.

The north Fulton suburb has finalized plans for the Roswell Loop, a connected circle of walking trails and bicycle lanes that will ring the city and link its parks, schools, natural resources and historic downtown —- all without having to get in a car.

“Awesome,” said Shelly Cunningham of Roswell, who rides her mountain bike several times a week along a path that will be part of the Loop. “My route is pretty, but I’d like some diversity. Connecting it all would give me that.”

The Loop is the centerpiece of Roswell’s new transportation master plan, which is unique in Georgia, according to planners.
