Trans fats not just an oil change
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Trans fats are the Darth Vadar of the nutrition world and more evidence keeps pouring in. A study in the medical journal Circulation found that the subjects with the highest levels of trans fatty acids in their blood were three times more likely to develop heart disease.
Trans fats are found in solid margarines, solid vegetable shortenings. The primary source is usually commercially fried foods; but the good news is that many restaurants are changing their oil to trans fat free.
But, what about all of the trans fat in baked goods, crackers, soups, salad dressings etc etc. Are you concerned that it’s hard to measure the amount of trans fat you may be consuming???
