Game 6: There will be a game 7
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
I love proving people wrong.
A lot of people thought the Celtics would just pound the Hawks and take the series in four games. I must admit I thought the Hawks were in trouble when this series started and I love the fact that are proving me wrong.
Game six was one for the ages. It only rivals another game six in Hawks playoff history (1988). This year, the Hawks kept hanging around and didn’t quit. They allowed the Celtics to get in foul trouble and the Hawks would go to the line and stay and about 7:50 to go in the fourth quarter.
Now, it’s on to Boston for game seven. JJ, Josh Smith, Horford and even Marvin Williams have had a great series. The one player who the Hawks need to come through in order for the Hawks to win in Boston is Mike Bibby.
Scoring 10 points a game on Sunday for Bibby just won’t get it done in Boston. He needs to be a force.
A force to lead the Hawks to round 2.

Man, I can’t even begin to understand the feeling that has came over this HAWK fan. I have waited 10 years just to be a fan of something so small to some, but so big for me.
GO HAWKS!!!

GO GO HAWKS!!! YEESS!! It was awsome. This team has guts. I give all the respect to the players. I wonder did BK save his job too. Hopefully Woody will move on and we can get one of these great coaches currently on the market.

Bibby needs to drive to the basket in Boston. He pulls up for way to many jumpers early in the game. Coach needs to let him know. Get the offense moving so the Celts don’t know where the punch is going to come from. Use Stoudamire and Richardson to spike the punch…It is the last game make it count!

I agree with Maurice, get the ball to JJ earlier in the game at the point, he opens up a much harder offensive set for Boston to defend against that Bibby. Win or lose Hawks have shown that next season should put a lot more fans in the seats and that will do great things for a young team.

Great job by the Hawks. They’ve really energized this city. Now if they can only manage to snag coach D’Antoni of the Suns, the czar of fast-break basketball. Make it happen BK, make it happen!

If Atlanta is going to beat the Celtics in Boston they are going to have to pull out all the stops.
If Marvin isn’t 100% I’d bring in Mario West to play D on Ray Allen. At least that way Atlanta would only have to deal with Pierce from the perimeter. Mix it up with Childress and Acie to come off the bench.
Bibby must charge to the basket. It’s obvious that Boston cannot hang with Atlanta’s speed, and the Hawks can’t settle for jumpers on Sunday.
The three D’s: Drive, Draw, and dish. Simple no?

Tally-ho, let’s enjoy the show. I’m sayin’ now, the HAWKS beat BOSTON, they beat CLEVELAND and go to the NBA finals.
