Game 4: Series tied at two
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
What a game!
Another sold-out crowd backing our Hawks; the Hawks playing with passion and refusing to back down in any fight (i.e. the altercation in the second which resulted in technicals on JJ and Zaza) and scoring 32 points in the fourth (to the Celtics’ 17) to tie this series at two games.
Even Woodson is doing a better job at rotating his players. Maybe his new look is making him a better coach.
Unfortunately, the Hawks have to go back on the road, where they only won 12 games in the regular season and Boston only lost six on their home court.
Maybe this will be loss number seven. :)

Defending home court against the Celtics is a major accomplishment for this team. Congratulations!
Take it one game at a time and try to steal one in Boston. Ball movement was much better than the regular season.
I had forgotten how exciting playoff basketball is when your team is in and playing well.

JOE IS THE MAN!!!!!!! That was an amazing performance….And ZaZa helped set the tone with his play. I hate the fact that he got the tech, but i think it sent a message to the Celtics. Now the Hawks have to withstand the Celtics runs in Game 5 and not get down on themselves….
I hope that these last two games will show the fans of Atlanta what can happen when a young team has the home crowd behind them. Yes, there will be some ups and downs, but overall it will be very exciting.

I doubted the Hawks could win Game 4. There, I admit it. No more doubts now. Proves anything can happen! Don’t stop now!

The Hawks are in the Celtics head now. 3/4 of the battle is mental. The only question is can we keep it up? We must run, run, run. Curiously, why didn’t Woodson do this doing the season, i.e., rotate players, and put the team in fast attack mode?

I’d like to see KG suspended for his overall actions, especially against the ref. However, that won’t happen because the NBA wants to see the possiblity of a Celtic Laker finals. They’ll also use the fact the ref in question didn’t eject him for his actions. It’s funny, all coaches and most players can get ejected for arguing with the refs. But certain players on certain teams, like THE CELTICS KG, can forearm a player and a ref in one incident and only get a warning tech. There were 2 other players that didn’t do anything close what he did and they got techs as well.
If the Hawks can weather the emotions and hostility they’ll face from the Celtic players and fans in the opening quarter, they can take this next gm. The Shamrocks will expend a lot of emotion and energy in the opening mins. We should use that against them by pressuring the ball fullcourt. By the 4th qtr, the big 3, expecially Garnett, Paula Pierce and Perkins will be without their legs and energy.

Go Hawks! You’ve made us proud. You just didn’t give up being two games down or being 10 points down in the beginning of the game. You kept focus on the prize and you you did it. Keep up the good work, and now you have to win away games in a hostile enviroment. Can you do it??????

Will the janitor be back for game 6 to blow his airhorn at the end of the shot clock?
Atlanta sports= worst joke in the US. Great seats still available- all bandwagoners aboard !
Celtics will win in six, giving Smith and teammates time to go smoke with Josh Howard.

rumor mill: according to the Wilmington (Delaware) newspaper, the 76ers might be looking to sign Josh Smith as a free agent this summer.
That would be a big blow to the Hawks if that were to happen.

I wish the Hawks had locked him up last year. No idea why they didn’t, unless it was related to the ownership mess. Fortunately Smith is a restricted free agent, I believe, so the Hawks could match any offer he gets and retain him. He’s going to make bank for sure.
