Good News, Bad News

Good News: Indiana lost to Charlotte. Hawks magic number down to one for a playoff berth.

Bad News: Hawks lost by 10 to the Celtics. With the Indiana loss and a possible Hawks win, they could have clinched the final playoff spot in the East. They didn’t.

Good News; Philips Arena had a sold-out crowd tonight. That was good to see. The crowd was rocking and the game was competitive.

Bad News: This isn’t over yet. The Hawks have to travel to Orlando on Tuesday, travel to Miami the next night. One more Hawks win or an Indiana loss means the Hawks are in.

It’s hard to win a game when you refuse to rest your best players. Woodson never rests his best, so the Celtic bench ran all over his team. Great coaching, Woody.

CORRECTION: The Hawks don’t have to travel to Orlando on Tuesday because it is a home game, not an away game.

Yeah, old Woody is in rare form. If he thinks we have a chance to even win 1 game against Boston (should we make the playoffs) with a 6-man rotation then he’s as clueless as he seems. You have your 2nd string PG (& top pick) sit on the bench & watch J-Chill run the point? Wow…

Woody PLEASE!!!!!! I agree how clueless can you be…You have to use the bench..YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TOO….Let Mario West play, He’s am all out hustle guy let him put some pressure on Ball and cause a little disruption…Please Woody show us fans you have some sort of basketball IQ…Cause a 6 or 7 man rotation is going to get us swept, i would just love to win 2 games against Boston..Increase my Hopes for next year….Also run and gun when you are down big…with MB, SS, JJ, JS, AH…run and shoot (jerry glanville style) LOL!!!

Goodness, I can not take anymore of Woodson. How do you NOT tell your guys to double team old azz Sam Cassell when he hits jumper after freaking jumper? How many game killing three’s does he have to make? If they do not fire this bum after this season, the Hawks no longer exist to me. HE HAS GOT TO GO! The players on this team deserve better than this. He is the worst 2nd half coach in NBA history! UGHHH!

Same old thing. The Hawks can’t beat anybody that doesn’t suck really bad or is missing key players. This “team” will NEVER accomplish anything of importance. And no, making the playoffs with the leagues 18th best record is not an accomplishment.

Hawks stink.

Never fear the Wizards are here. Toronto one back w/2 t play. D.C. wants Cleveland in the round of 16. They get it by beating the Pacers. They will win tomorrow night.

The Hawks are capable of stunning the Celtics and knocking them out of the playoffs. Will is happen? It is doubtful, but certainly not impossible. If the Hawks can concentrate for 48 minutes each game of the series and run the offense through Mike Bibby, there is a better than even money chance that the Hawks WILL upset the upstart Celtics. The recipe for success to beat the Celtics is to BE CERTAIN THAT YOU CAME TO THE ARENA TO PLAY 48 MINUTES OF HARD-NOSED COMPETITIVE BASKETBALL OR ELSE THE CELTICS WILL LITERALLY BLOW YOU OUT OF THE ARENA. Also, make absolutely certain that the offense is being run fluidly with Mike Bibby at the controls and sustain a solid defensive effort for 48 minutes and I believe there is any team out there that can stay on the court with our Atlanta Hawks.
