The second half begins
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Last year, the Hawks won 10 games after the All-Star break including two of the last three to end the season. Based on the way the Hawks played to end the first half, there is a good chance they could do that again this year.
Right now, the Hawks sit at about 11th place in the Eastern Conference. In order to be one of the eight conference teams in the playoffs, the Hawks would need to win, would need New Jersey to realize they can’t win without Jason Kidd and for the other teams just to beat up on each other.
The second half starts tonight with the Bulls. The Bulls have won both meetings with the Hawks (106-104 and 94-86). The second game vs. the Bulls, the Hawks didn’t have Speedy or Lue and Royal Ivey got the start. Most likely, that will be the case again tonight. In fact, besides Ivey and Johnson, Marvin, Wright and Josh Smith will probably be the other starters.
Since the Bulls have won nine in a row vs. the Hawks, a win tonight may be difficult, but making the playoffs is still not out of the question.

Speaking of Jason Kidd - I would like to see BK at least make an attempt to add Jason Kidd to our team. If they want to move him at least make and offer. Offer them Speedy and/or Sheldon / Marvin? to get Kidd in a Hawks uniform. Even if we can’t get Kidd in a trade at least show you have a pulse BK by making an offer. Jason would be one of the missing pieces we need and this would give you 2 - 3 years to find his replacement in the draft (See New Jersey - Marcus Williams as an example). Then all you would need to focus on in the draft is bigs. (And for God sake don’t give away a 1st round draft pick for Kidd - I would rather lose out on the trade - even if he would make us better.) Also, do not let the Lakers get Kidd, even if he would be going to the west coast. They already took one of our 1st round picks and got the center we need - Andrew Bynum —-just an FYI.
Get her done BK!!!

I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see the Hawks winning tonight. ZaZa is awful…OMG what a complete waste of a roster position. Everyone loves talking about getting a PG via trade…and yes, I would love to see a REAL ONE in ATL, but we need a REAL CENTER. Someone who can score and rebound. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for the draft and see if we can get one to….does this sound familiar..”develop”.

If anyone doesn’t agree ATL doesn’t need a big man…here’s a look at tonight’s 2nd quarter…with just under 3 mins left in the 2nd quarter, ATL only has 3 shot attempts inside of 7 feet, and missed one of those.
