Same old song and dance

The Hawks game tonight vs. New Jersey was pitiful. They didn’t deserve to win that game even if they had pulled it out.

It was like watching the Hawks from last year, not the past few weeks: They failed to adjust after halftime. They also couldn’t make their shots (40% FG in the first half, closer to 25% in the second).

Marvin Williams was the only bright spot in the second half. He adjusted and turned up his game by scoring 15 points after only scoring 4 in the first half.

Settle in for a lot more losing. This is going to be a brutal month. I can’t complain, though. The win the Hawks got on Sunday made my prediction wrong. I didn’t think they would win one game in the month of February. I will revise that and say that they will only win one game in the month of February.

How can you praise Marvin Williams? I like the guy, but he has to start producing. At some point, we have to stop hearing about all this “potential” and start seeing it. Yes, he scored last night, but most of it was from the free throw line. He has too many nights in which he is a nonfactor. Great stat line he put up during the Laker game. Time to stop babying that guy.

Also, Childress is starting to remind me of Al Harrington. Childress misses at least one layup per game, lately. Al Harrington was great at that.

This team still sucks. I don’t know if I have the guts to watch on Friday night. That game will get ugly.

It’s going to be a brutal year any way you look at it. The hawks are young and yes we do have a lot of ‘Potential’..But what about now? The hawks orginization has proven time and time again that they have no idea how to make decent trades or even how to draft. I like Joe Johnson but for the same amount we’re paying him we could have had a more prolific player. No decent player in the NBA wants to come play for Atlanta. Not a one. Do you blame them?

The trade deadline is approaching here within the next few weeks. The hawks need to make something happen. If we don’t we will end up just missing the playoffs and obtain a draft pick which we’ll end up using to draft some schmo from Delta College. I think Mike Woodson and the entire hawks orginization needs to be let go. Including Dominique. What has Nique done for the atlanta hawks lately? I like to prospect of bringing in long-time atlantan Gregory Glover to run the show. He is not real well know but has proven he has a desire to bring great basketball to atlanta and would actually work hard for the fans and the city. He at one point even made a guarantee that within the first two years of him coaching and running the show..If the hawks didn’t make the playoffs..He would refund 2X the amount paid to him. What a character. We need this guy. I petition all of us Atlanta fans to write the ‘Spirit’ owners and refer them to Gregory Glover. Lets bring Atlanta back some class.

You know I couldn’t agree more. Mr. Glover is a longtime Atlantan not only does he have a love for basketball but he is also a very smart business man. I think he’d make an excellent coach. I think he’d make an excellent GM. I am definitely going to forward this to the Spirit owners as well as contact every media outlet in town and get the buzz and vibe going so we can finally celebrate having a winning basketball team.
