A halftime suggestion
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Hawks lost to the Heat tonight. The score probably would have been worse, but Shaq didn’t play. One fan remarked “The Hawks act like they are allergic to the rim.” Other fans hid their faces when they were shown on the video board. Tough crowd.
Let’s change topics and address the halftime entertainment at Hawks games. Tonight they had the High Impact Squad. These were group of four people dressed like the crows from “The Wiz.” They basically did slam dunks with trampolines. Anyone who has been to a Hawks game and seen this act when SkyHawk does it in the second half. Funny, Skyhawk didn’t do that act tonight, I wonder why. In fact, SkyHawk was on the sidelines probably thinking “Geez, I can do that. In fact, I do. Every night.”
Here’s my suggestion for halftime fun: Bring back the Hawks Drumline. We only see them when the introductions are being made. Let’s see more of them. People would actually watch them. Think about it: A good routine and BAM, you’ve got a act.
Hawks take on the Raptors on Friday at Philips. They might be favored in this game.

Here’s an idea, Hawks ownership: Put together a winning team.
I don’t care about halftime entertainment. I care about wins. Who’s with me?

Halftime entertainment?
The Hawks have been programmed for YEARS as a circus act and NOT an NBA franchise. Their mission is to make fans spend on concessions and go home with a trinket. The commitment to winning games is putrid and misguided.
The front office is among the worst, historically, in the league. Just check the draft history and draw your own conclusions. Payment of a major contract sum to Joe Johnson was a HUGE error. Belkin was right.
Wake me when the over-pumped in artificial noise stops

The team needs to stay positive and take one game at a time. They need to focus on each half, each quarter and each possession. I believe in the HAWKS. The defense is looking better. NO more complaining, no more excuses.
Did anyone see the program the other night on ESPN about 5 reasons not to blame Portland for taking Sam Bowie ove MJ? During the program they gave statistics on how every championship team in the NBA (except for MJ’s Bulls) had a GREAT CENTER. So I think the Hawks need to get a GREAT CENTER.(VERY GOOD CENTER or at least a Good Center or maybe just “a” Center to get started.

The best thing the Hawks could do at halftime would be to fire Billy Knight. Maybe hand out tomatoes to the fans and have Billy run around the court while we throw them at him. Or maybe eggs, yeah, eggs would be better. It would make the 2nd half more entertaining as the players slip and slide on the egg covered floor. If we are not going to win lets at least have some fun!

Did anyone see how well the Heat moved the ball last night and how the Hawks seemed like they were playing with 4 men while they were doing it.I dont know if they are just getting caught outta position, too aggressive,or just outta shape at 20 yrs old.Whatever it is we need to at least try that on our end of the floor if we cant stop anybody else.GO HAWKS!

If NY wants Al, we do this:
Al, Chil and Lue or Delk and or first and second pick for Marbury, Frye and their first.
We take Taj Grey or Al Horford or the best available big PF/C.
Then we apply our big $ to landing the best available FA center; Nene, Pryz, Gooden.
PG: Marbury/Ivey/Delk or Lue SG: JJ/Salim SF: Smoove/Donta PF: Frye/Marvin/Horford/Batista C: Zaza/Gooden/Edwards

How bout at halftime we have a lottery. Draw ticket stubs, if yours is called you get to play in the second half. It couldn’t be any worse than it already is.
