Time to upgrade ya!
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
NEW YORK CITY - Hey, it’s moving time folks.
Like one of our former first ladies of the blog (Beyonce) like to say, it’s time to ‘Upgrade ya!”
We’re moving from our longtime home here and shifting over to the shiny new bloghood that the kind folks at ajc.com have constructed for us.
And they have informed me that we can’t bring any pets, our funky old furniture or any leftover venom Ando has for the rest of us and Billy Knight (sorry money but it’s in the lease I just signed). Everything else is good to go, including Clyde and his man-crush on Mike Woodson.
It’s a new set up that promises to be cleaner to read, your posts will hit the screen faster and your words will come out grammatically correct no matter what you write fine, I was kidding about that last part in the hope that this new system would automatically fix my mistakes (not going to happen).
But this new deal does promise to be more user friendly for us all. So make sure you bookmark the new site (http://blogs.ajc.com/hawks/) and sign up for the Hawks Blog RSS feed to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the conversations to come.
This, my friends, is change we can believe in. So hustle over to the new spot so we can chop it up before the Hawks and Knicks get busy tonight at Madison Square Garden.
Who knows, B. might be in the house tonight, too. Maybe she wants another shot at being the first lady of the new blog?

Better late than never!
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
WASHINGTON - The Hawks didn’t make it here until 6:30 this morning, roughly seven hours after they departed Philips Arena for the airport.
And they beat me, and apparently the other 15,000 people that are supposed to be here at the Verizon Center to watch the Hawks and Wizards, by about 12 hours.
You thought LeBron James got some calls Sunday night, he’s got nothing on Mother Nature. Because when she feels like wreaking havoc on the world, all you can do is stand by and take it.
Better late than never.
The big question tonight is can the Hawks muster the energy to deal with a clearly inferior foe a night after an emotionally charged game and (heartbreaking loss) take care of business.
A good team should be able to take care of that business.
Time to see if the Hawks qualify.

Time for the Hawks to shine(?)
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
HAWKSVILLE - They had to wait for the playoffs last year before anyone took notice.
The basketball loving public has already had time to make up its mind about teams by then.
So consider tonight’s Hawks-Cavaliers game at Philips Arena golden opportunity for the home team to reintroduce itself to the masses.
Now is the time for the Hawks to shine, with ESPN in the house and celebrities from all walks in the seats around courtside (to see LeBron James do his thing, of course) just waiting to be impressed.
Since these opportunities are so far and few between for the Hawks, they can’t afford to trip over their own laces tonight.
Anytime Spike Lee and Bill Murray brave the elements to join Ciara, Christina Milian and the likes to check out a game here, I’d say it’s worth our attention (as if we needed anyone else to make this our usual party).
But as huge games go for the Hawks, this stands as one of the season’s best opportunities for a true “statement” game.
Knock off these Cavaliers tonight in convincing fashion, and watch your team’s profile rise. Get handled and well there’s always the playoffs.
Time to get it on.
