THOSE WINS VS TAMPA/CAROLINA/SAINTS WERE NOT GOOD WINS, JUST AGAINST A WEAK DIVISION……

I think AB missed his opportunity with Whisenhunt. Think about the difference sans PETRINO. One less year of pain. That being said, I’m not complaining with the current staff.

Clearly, WHIZ COACHED UP the Cards who seemingly slithered into the playoffs, seemingly coasting on a NFC West sked. My daughter is a huge Panthers and Jags fan (here, kitty, kitties) and I was telling her about the ATL game. I’d even say, Whiz’d played his team dumb in the regular season to snooze the rest of the NFC to not ratchet it up.

That’s coaching brilliance if that is what he did.

There is an interesting video on NFL.com where you hear the “sounds of the game” refs going over to each side to tell the coaches that AZ was jumping the snap count and they were about to be called for it. For what it is worth, other fans screamed, I thought it was “let the boys play” attitude of all refs.

Glad to see a former Falcon helped keep another team from advancing in playoffs. Good old worthless Algae “Another Coughup” Fumbler lets ball slip away near goal line. I always knew NFL officials were too ignorant to keep time. They proved that in Tennessee. Titans could damn sure use a dependable field goal kicker. Yardage does not mean squat. Points do! Too bad the damn Falcons did not have a shot at Kittens. Can anyone say NFC Championship Game?

By VICK SUPPORTER 2, that has been my argument most of the year. The NFC South was a very competitive division, with all teams at least .500 or better, But it was not the strongest, the NFC East was. If you read some of my post in which I believe you do because I see you use a little of my material in you arguements, the NFC South lost to to the NFC East when they played head up and Denver beat everyteam in the South except for Carolina. The Falcons were privilidged to play a weak schedule. Matt Raynn will suffer next year against a stronger schedule because he is not battle hardened. That is why the Falcons and the Panthers lost to The Cardinals. They were not battle hardened. The winner of the NFC South next year will go deeper in the Play-offs because they will ahvewfaced tougher teams and be better prepared for that level of competition. Joe Flacco will be a better prepared QB next year because he played in a real NFL offense and not that college offense the Falcons devised for Ryan. Plus Flacoo will be tougher and more battled hardened because of the level of comp. he played against this year. In order for the Falcons to thrive and be a true competitor for a Super Bowl, they must get tougher on the Defensive and Offensive lines. That is why they should have drafted Glenn Dorsey. Sam Baker is not they key at Left Tackle, I have no problem with them drafting him but he is not a first round talent. WhenBaker played against play-off caliber D-linemen he was also exposed. But most Falcons Fans will just be happy making the play-offs every two or three years. Typical Falcons Fans.They are happy to have a mediocre team. 11-5 against a waek schedule and first round play-off lost is mediocre at best. I said it a month ago if the Falcons make the play-offs they ewould deserve it but, it would not mean they were one of the 6 best teams in the NFC it would mean that they had one of the 6 best records.

Falcons, 2009 version of 2008 Cleveland Browns!!!! No More than 5 wins in 09 for the Durty MOFO Birds. SUCKERS

33 - 13. Wow. Kurt Warner for MVP. Larry Fitzgerald proved he’s worth that contract. Definitely takes some of the sting out of last weekend’s loss. Now if the Eagles can just take care of business in NY today it will be Battle of the Birds in the Desert II.

At least the Steelers are keeping some interest in this race. I, for one, am not very interested in watching a Superbowl featuring two teams that backed into the playoffs. If this thing pans out to be an Arizona/Baltimore championship, I’ll probably be skipping the Superbowl for the first time ever. Very disappointing that neither the Falcons nor the Panthers showed up to play Arizona. Of course, after watching Delhomme for several years, we all knew he had that kind of game in him; too bad he decided to stink it up when it mattered most. Oh well, the championship game will be determined by defense. The Eagles and the Ravens have the advantage there. However, here’s hoping for a Steelers/Eagles Superbowl …

By RYAN SUPPORTER 2 can you say turn-overs, that is what your boy did the last 3 games oif the regular season and the play-offs. You people keep talking about how great the Ravens defense is and that is the reason they are still in the play-offs, Well, you are RIGHT. Defense and running gamne is the key to excell in the NFL. The year the Colts won the Super bowl they were terrible against the run all year but in the play-offs they shut the opposing team run down. You people also keep talking about Dorsey like he had a terrible season. 46 tackles for an interior lineman on a bad team is pretty good. The biggest concern about Dorsey is if he could stay healthy, I believe he did that last season to a greater extent. I would have been happy to have Redman as the starting QB last season and address the other needs on the team. That 11-5 record from last season is misleading. The Falcons are not that close to being a contender. Their key players are aging and going into free agency. The Falcons will take a big step back next year ala the 1999 team the year after the Super Bowl when Dan Reeves let all those vets go and the Falcons had a very dissappointing season. But, If Flacco with that big arm played under Mike Mularkey and Musgrave and with Joe Cools, cool laid back style of play and his ability to make plays with his big arm, the Falcons may would still be playing in the Play-offs. Remember the Ravens defense has not changed since last year and they did not make the play-offs then difference, Joe Cool and the #1 run offense in football. Now they have Joe Cool at QB and they are in the AFC championship game. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Falcons, The 2009 version of the 2008 Browns. The Falcons will win no more than 5 games against a much tougher schedule.

You said before the season started that with Ryan at QB the Falcons would go something like 2-14. You said you were a real fan and that real fans know the state of their team. What happened? How could you be so wrong? What are YOU smoking? The only time you sound remotely close to being right is when you agree with someone else’s insightful post. Mark Bradley said the Falcons were blessed when they drew the Cardinals in the playoffs. And so they were. The Cardinals went on to bless the Panthers and, today, the Eagles. They’ll also bless whomever faces them in the Super Bowl. Kurt Warner is one of the best quarterbacks ever to play in the NFL and Larry Fitzgerald is, hands down, the best receiver playing today! Time to respect the Red Bird!
