First, on Sunday, he says he will accept whatever punishment the team gives him. Now, he says he’s appealing the fine.

On Sunday, he said he was OK with a suspension. The fine is less than what he would have lost for being suspended a game, and now he wants to appeal it?

What kind of education to they give these guys at VT? Anyone read Hall’s quote?

MeHall could care less about the unprofessional act he did last Sunday. Its all about him and I appreciate what Petrino is trying to do for the team. Without a doubt Mora’s success was with Dan Reeves players and Petrino’s heartache will be with Mora’s bunch. Give him a couple of years with the right players and he will do us a good job. And how about the bright Michael Vick and the next stupid move of his. Boy I’m glad he’s gone and look forward to MeHall playing elsewhere! Bring on Dan Reeves as the GM!!!

I have watched MeAngelo the last 3 years, and in his mind he is a shut down cornerback. I just don’t see the proof on Sundays. He runs around hot dogging, doesn’t like to tackle, and gets burnt in crucial situations. At this point, I would trade or cut him. He is becoming a big distraction that needs to be dealt with.

What a piece of work D. Hall is. I feel he lost any respect the fans had for him Sunday. I was there for the Panthers game. When the defense came off the field after Hall lost it you could tell Grady Jackson and Chris Crocker were pi$$ed off at the little jerk. Those two and others were slamming their helmets to the ground in disgust. I don’t know why Petrino didn’t man up and bench his a$$ right then. Some of these guys have no self control and need to move on. We can lose without immature punks who can’t control themselves. Also that ESPN Town Hall Meeting was a joke. Vick and Hall=cancers or team killers. Those two have made our city and our team the laughing stocks of the NFL, and ESPN just slurps it up, while Vick continues to get in trouble. What a bunch of idiots. Y’all just keep telling him he hasn’t done anything wrong.

This sounds about right to me. As much as I’d like to bench the guy for a game, I think you’re hurting the team if you do that. By D-Hall’s reaction, my guess is that a 100 grand fine makes a significant dent in his wallet. In other words, the fine means something. Good move by the team.

The fine and the benching were a good start, but the fact he is appealing after after He said I will take whatever punishment comes down shows he is not a team player and I guarantee a punk like that WILL LET IT AFFECT HIS PLAY and his attitude which just might destroy the clubhouse.

He has already lost his teamates respect because they don’t know if they can count on him.

Now he is appealing instead of being a man and taking responsibility.

That crowd at the ESPN Town Hall Meeting really made a*******es of themselves. When the moderator posed the question “Do you think dog fighting should be legal” (or something to that effect)they really were over the top with their whooping and hollering. I was embarrased for them. But what do you expect when they pulled the dolts off the street in that area? I saw the town hall meeting and it was terrible. The Negroes were excusing all the illegality Vick engaged in and hoping he would return to the Falcons to carry on his legacy, whatever that might amount to. This morning came the announcement of Vick’s failed drug test. Anybody surprised? Not me! Hall, another bum from Virginia Tech, should have been yanked off the field last week, suspended and then released. He is not a good football player and he’s a lousier human. Get rid of this garrulous, prevaricating, talentless Negro. As for Vick, his failed drug test now makes him a violator of the NFL’s drug policy. He will never play in the league again. Additionally, after having made tons of money, i doubt he could squeeze a ten dollar check through the bank now.

The guys I hang with on Sunday kept telling me that Vick wasn’t smart enough to be a quarterback, read defenses and audibilize. They said he runs because he can’t find secondary receivers —- because that is the one thing he can do.

It never really struck home that he was so incapable of exercising even elementary judgement; however, his behaviors over the past several months, including testing positive for drugs before his sentencing is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.

Vick’s career is shot! I question whether he’ll ever dress out in the NFL again. This is absolutely incredible. Incredibly stupid!

I do hope this puts to rest the mindless alegiance of his band of homies who view his plea as some “white conspiracy.”

The reason you continue to languish is because of poor judgement, bad decisions and the unwillingness to accept personal responsibility for your actions.

With all the government aid, scholarships and grants that are available, there is no reason why any black kid who wants to excel cannot receive the education to succeed in life. The opportunities are out there.

Reparations have been paid by the taxpayers of this country for 50 years in the form of government programs, set-asides, quotas, preferred hiring policies and affirmative action.

Face it. The reason so many blacks continue to languish in this land of opportunity is not because of the color of their skin or white oppression, but because they refuse to take advantage of the opportunities that are readily available. Those who look forward and reach out to the opportunities that are available have gained the benefits of this generous country and are enjoying the good life.

Quit making excuses. I refuse to accept your blame. Invest in your education and self-improvement instead of rims and you too will realize there’s no place on this planet that affords a grander opportunity for the “good life” than the good ol’ USA.

There are many black people who are disgusted by Mike Vick. And there are many whites who realize that not every black supports someone who breaks the law.

I think the fans at the Dome this weekend will see the guy who should’ve been our QB for the next 5-6 years light up our secondary for 300+ and a couple TDs.

But I also think Joey will have another good game through the air, with the Falcons trailing for a couple quarters, and I think we put some points on the board in the 4th to win the game. We’ve got to learn how to score late in the game, and I think this is the week that we do.

Let’s just hope Jerious gets more than 9 touches on O. Seriously, give him 15 and he takes one to the house. Guaranteed.

The majority of the people who support Michael Vick don’t condone his actions. They support him because Michael Vick has been brutalized by the relentless media, especially his hometown news paper. They support him because they feel sure the man has broken the law, but he doesn’t deserve to spend the rest of his young life behind prison bars. 5 years at the very maximum would have been acceptable, but 40 years of a human life is a lot of time for dogs that would have probably been taken by the pound and euthanized anyways. Some of you guys care entirely too much about seeing man’s life crumble, even if it was at his own doing. Is it too outlandish for some people to feel that such motivation could be stemming from racism in some cases ? Just because black people are always crying wolf doesn’t mean there isn’t a wolf.

Anyways, since I just went completely off topic with my rant/vent, I hope everyone can use my words to gain a little insight, because knowledge IS the only cure for ignorance.

I never blamed AJC for anything Michael Vick did. That is beyond logic. Let me clarify also that I never SAID racism is to blame for Michael Vick’s actions. Once again, that is beyond logic. Were you at the town hall meeting ? You must have been interacting personally with the crowd. Television has a way of putting a spin on everything to make it entertaining. Those people could have been booing because the moderators were rejecting their questions or altering their questions. Maybe, they were just booing for no reason, who knows..I was watching it on TV probably like you were. Can I ask you this then ? Are the fans at the Georgia Dome wrong when the boo a bad call by the refs ? The referees are just doing their jobs like the moderators, and the fans feel like the refs aren’t doing their jobs adequately ? Hrm..

There are some seriously screwed up people on this blog. Internet anonymity certainly brings out the best.

As for the actual TOPIC of the article, DeAngelo has not played for a coach that required much discipline from his players. Let’s take a breath and recognize that he’s a talented player who may actually learn after he’s been fined and benched a couple of times (I say a couple because it will probably take more than one). Despite what he thinks based upon his comments, he is not equal to the coach within the organization. In my opinion Petrino is handling this the right way so far. His job as a new coach is to establish credibility with his players, so hopefully this is the start.
