Leftwich Great!!!!! Anything other than “sackme joey”. Only one problem, he is not very mobile himself.Isn’t sacks the reason the jags cut him? This is sad, but the only person who probally can make this team a winner is at home because of dawgs.. Man I don’t even want to watch the university of georgia play right now!!!!

The falcons are horrible as a WHOLE - one player, regardless of who it is, will not make them a playoff contender. Leftwich is another loser. Don’t expect much. 3-13 this year. This city is cursed when it comes to its nfl franchise.

I don’t mind that they got Leftwich (anyone is better than Harrington), but they paid too much. 2 years 6 million for half a season? Well, we’ll see if this pays off.

How come the Falcons have not going after Vanderjagt? I mean I like old reliable Morten, but outside 40 years will have to go to unreliable Koenen.

Also, if we get top pick, GET DARREN MCFADDEN. He is a once in a decade player. Do not get sorry Brohm who plays in a conference that has no d. Get Matt Ryan in the second round.

well it takes a major ugly couple of losses to get the folks at falcons hq to wake up from there bad dream . just glad to have morten back he should have never left in the first place and as far as our new qb it will take a long time to get him up to speed in this offense oh yea bad ankles and all this could be the yr of musical players in a lot of postions try this hope for that desperate people do desperate things go figure !!!

I can’t understand why the Falcons would go after a QB who’s so fragile. Especially when your O line is so porous. Of course, most of the moves this franchise makes puzzle me. Hope Leftwich has a GOOD medical plan…he’s gonna need it…

I’d change more of the management of this team…maybe new management will have more guts to change/cut/draft players to really make a positive difference (in contrast to the negative results so far). I think the Falcons are a franchise who need a drastic shakeup from top to bottom. It’s not just the coaching, or just the kicker or QB - everybody, including management, needs to look in the mirror and not just pass the buck. I believe there’s poor decision making on several levels that needs to be addressed. No quick fix here - this’ll take seasons to change.

The only reason falcons sign Leftwich because he is black.Arthur Blank want to get back some of the black fans in the Georgia Dome and you know the reasons why.Arthur is about getting that mighty dollar and I understand what he got to do to get it.Leftwich made a bad move when he sign with the Atlanta falcons.Whenever Leftwich get his first start and do not perform well then the necks and blue eyes will ride him of out this racist city.I feel for my brother and he will realize that he made a terrible decision signing with this Vickless team.The falcons want win with Leftwich or any other quarterback with that offensive line.I will pray for you and Vick.I still say the falcons need Michael VIck.

Byron leftwich was released by the Jags because he didn’t work! he was given the starting job over the Summer and then quit working. the Falcons have just signed another lazy, shiftless picaninny to a big contract he can’t live up to. The entire Falcons Organization,both in the Front Office and on the Field is inept, pathetic, disorganized, and a disgrace to the city of Atlanta and to the NFL. Mike Vick did not have the courage to admit up front his involvement in the Dogfighting, and as a direct result, Mr. Blank made the stupid decision to trade Matt Schawb.

He was signed not because he was black, but because he was the only half decent NFL QB that was left out there since the season is now two weeks old. Any QB out there now is either too old, too green, too injury prone or simply can’t play. Leftwich is hardly a good QB (if he were he’d be on a team and not unemployed) but he is the best of the leftovers that no one wants.

You are right though, this city is racist—lead by the likes of Shirley Franklin, Andy Young and John Lewis who seem to have this nasty habit of running racist political ads against white candidates.

I like the Leftwich move although it sounds like good work if you can get it at $3MM/yr starting as backup. I had heard he dropped 40 lbs for his comeback- well he’ll need to have fast feet to live in our backfield. anyway, if joey bagadonuts had confidence issues yesterday, i’m sure he feels real reassured now. just think if most of us had job pressures like that to face for every screwup we manage!

Rich Mckay has got to go he is running the Falcons like a damn Mcdonalds, bringing kickers, Qbs off the street. I am convinced Tony Dungy did all the work in Tampa Bay and he took the credit for personell moves. Arthur Blank has given him a blank check, who knows why? The list of his bad moves: Rookie Kicker, 2 Years in a row having Morten Anderson bail him out(Hope Mort got well paid), 2 #1 WR Roddy White(Butterfingers), Alvin Jenkins(Bust), overpaid for John Abrahams. Mckays number one F**k Up was not knowing what his $130 million dollar QB Mike(I fight dogs) Vick is doing in his off time. Also converting signing bonuses to roster bonus so now they may not be able to recoup them.

Hes got to go, I say hire someone who knows how to evaluate talent and run a team. Lets get Ozzie Smith in here.

I used to be defensive when commentators talked about the lack of fan support for the Braves during playoff games, but now, I see their point. All of the racism still prevalent in this town really is disappointing. But God don’t like ugly, and that’s why this town hasn’t won a damn thing since the Falcons’ NFC title in 1998.
