Where’s Morten?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Can we bring Morten Andersen back? I’m not off the bandwagon yet, but this team has a long way to go. For every good run or pass play we had, there were more penalties, sacks and big plays given up to suck out any momentum we might have gained.
Then we actually get a nice long drive that has the Jaguars on the ropes only to have Prater shank a close-range kick. We should have scored a touchdown, but those are rare right now, and we need any points we can get. Prater better be gone.
The good news was that Abraham and the rookie Anderson had good games, Harrington didn’t throw any interceptions, and Norwood looked strong.
Bottom line for next game: 1. Offensive line has to protect better, especially during the blitz.
Harrington needs to get rid of the ball faster knowing the line can’t hold guys off very long.
Receivers have to get open, even if it’s short.
Defensive line has got to get more pressure on the quarterback. They did in the first half today, and the outcome was good.
It’s not fair to put a loss on one person, but Prater has shown he’s not going to make it in this league. At a time when points are precious, we need someone who at least can make a 30-yarder.
Falcons come home next week. Come on down and show the boys some support. Maybe they’ll play better with some home cookin’.
Go Falcons!!!
