No more games that don’t count

Good finish to the preseason even though the starters were on the sideline. A win in preseason doesn’t matter much, but maybe it will help with the confidence level. Can’t hurt to have a pick-me-up before the season starts.

Time to see what Harrington is about and if he has what it takes to lead this team. He disappointed a lot of people in Detroit. I think he has what it takes, but it’s a tough situation to step into. This guy was picked up to be a backup, not a starter.

Jason Snelling and Adam Jennings have had a good preseason. Joe Horn was too quiet. I was excited when I heard we got him. Goodness knows, he burned our defense too many times to count. Now it’s time he brings it here.

Jamaal Anderson and Jimmy Williams were impressive on defense. Can’t wait to see Abraham healthy. He was the biggest playmaker when’s he’s healthy, but he has to stay healthy.

Can’t wait to see everyone back on the field.

Different without Vick

It was tough being at the Dome knowing that Vick isn’t the Falcons’ quarterback anymore. This season is going to be different without the flashy, exciting, unpredictable play of Vick. Maybe it won’t be such a bad thing.

A lot of people are selling their season tickets. I’m not one of them. Vick was a big reason I bought season tickets a few seasons ago, but he wasn’t the only reason. The team needs our support more than ever.

Joey Harrington isn’t Michael Vick, but I’m happy with the way he played tonight. He broke the huddle and walked to the line on a mission. He was accurate. He led the team on a couple of scoring drives. He talked to his teammates on the sideline. He sat with his teammates. He congratulated his teammates when they came off the field after a score. He gets it. He knows he can’t do it by himself, something Michael Vick thought he could do.

Demorrio looked good. Really impressed with Jamaal Anderson. Have to say I miss Kerney pumping up the crowd. Got to hope that the run defense improves when everyone gets healthy.

Can’t wait to get Friday’s game done and start the season. Let’s see what this team is made of.

Win could hurt

The win in the preseason doesn’t mean much, but Shockley’s injury could be bad. Tests are today, but it didn’t look good. Let’s hope for the best.

It will be nice to get everyone who’s injured back to see what this team is going to look like. Snelling and Jamaal Anderson were impressive. Can’t wait to see how they fit into the mix. A lot of guys still haven’t played in the preseason, which is a bit worrisome.

I liked the way Redman kept his cool on the winning drive. He looks like a solid backup.

Can’t wait for the preseason home opener. See you at the Dome.

Glad Falcons are back

The final score was bad, but you can’t tell much from a preseason game, especially the first one. Harrington looked solid, and we escaped any more major injuries.

Shockley looked too much like Vick, hopping around in the pocket, getting passes batted down and intercepted and missing open receivers. I hope he settles down because I would like to see the hometown boy be good enough to be a backup.

Rookie Laurent Robinson has had a solid camp and continued to look good in the second half.

Thank goodness there are only three more exhibition games left. I’m ready for the real season to begin.
