Hey Babe, 44 took a hard hit last night but Snelling def looks like a keeper to me, he’s a tough one. It was refreshing to actually see our QB call a play change at the line, DJ really impressed with that one. Hope the knee isn’t too serious but methinks he was just trying a little too hard to impress, can’t blame him for that, tho. Joey needs to settle in … but at least he doesn’t refer to himself in the third person! The positive attitude from all the players is putting out some serious good vibes, or is that just excitement in the air? No matter, counting down the days ‘til the Dome opener on the 27th. See ‘ya there! Go Birds!

Special Teams and Defense looked better last night. I feel the offense will be better once Crump, Norwood, and Dunn get in the game. You have to be exited about this group of rookies on both sides of the ball, they are going to contribute. Joey H. just needs to chill out and realize he has 2 more games to iron out the kinks. Like him or not he is our starter. I really don’t think one can draw any real conclusions until after the next game. I’ll be there supporting the entire organization on the 27th.

The game I saw last night was Harrington making one mistake and our receivers dropping passes and running incorrect timing routes. The 30 MPH wind didn’t help as well. If we would have scored with multiple chances from the 4 yard line the conversation would be different today. But if I were Bobby I would not tip off any innovative plays in the red zone during preseason. Let’s keep running the vanilla package and work on the basics. I hope D.J. is not hurt but he needs to get out of the run first pass second mentality. He will only shorten his NFL career if he doesn’t. The defense improved a lot from week one to week two. Special teams looked better too.

Last year I commented on how lousy Vick was as a QB and that the Falcons should try Schaub a little more to see if he could be the team leader. Then when they let Schaub go to the Texans I said it was a bad move (I never imagined something like this, just Vick with an injury). Everyone blasted me for being a racist. (?) Just because I thought Schaub should be given a shot, I’m a racist? Then, when Vick gave everyone the double bird last year while walking off the field, I made a statement he should be fined and suspended a game. Still, everyone black thought I was a racist. How many of you idiots would like to have Schaub back now? He was pretty impressive in his win this weekend. Even ran for a TD. I never liked Vick because of his thug personality just like I don’t the white Jeremy Shockey from the Giants. I do not like their personalities for kids to look up to. Vick is getting what he deserves and ‘if’ he ever gets a chance to play (insiders from Goodell’s office are considering 5 year to a life time ban based on gambling not the dogfighting.) Good riddance thug!! Hope they get a few more of you whether you are white, black, asian, or hispanic. A “mistake” is when someone gives you the wrong change at the gas station. A “mistake” is when you skip a step in an Algebra problem. A “mistake” is the wrong food being delivered to your table at a restaurant.

The N.A.A.C.P. is lobbying for Vick to not receive a suspension from the NFL. They are saying that what he did was no worse than hunting and that he’s probably pleaing guilty even though he’s innocent. In typical Negro fashion, they are trying to confuse the issue. Vick engaged, knowingly, in a criminal enterprise for more than six years. He was involved in dog fighting and the gambling that goes along with it. He participated, personally, in the killing of dogs. To equate his activities with hunting is disingenuous and without foundation. Where is Ken Strychnine? When the dogfighting allegations appeared, Strychnine said Vick wasn’t involved. it was his theory that Vick’s cousin was to blame and that Mike had no knowledge of it. Then, when the government statement was issued, and Vick was not mentioned by name, he said there would be no indictment. Two days later Vick was indicted on two federal felonies. Strychnine urged restraint and clung to the presumption of innocence ploy. He talked about the evils of hunting and horse racing and he instructed us that Mike had done nothing more offensive than the jockey who uses a crop down the stretch. He was vociferous in defending Vick every step along the way. Now we haven’t heard a peep out of Mr. N.A.A.C.P. Where you at now b***?

Terrell, the reason for those numbers is two-fold.

One: Blacks sell drugs on street corners. How many whites do you see dealing on street corners? I could drive around RIGHT NOW, and pick out 50 blacks dealing on street corners. In the same drive-around, I couldn’t find EVEN ONE white dealer. Black dealers are so easy to find and arrest, it’s like fishing in a bathtub….

Two: A drug DEALER is what law enforcement is looking for, NOT users. The vast majority of white drug users ACTUALLY WORK, to pay for their stash and to pay for everything else they need. The vast majority of black drug users pimp drugs to support their chosen habits. They depend on WELFARE for everything else! If not for us Whiteys supporting your lazy butts, through Welfare, you’d be back to throwing sharpened sticks at possums and rats for food. I know it, you know it, the world knows it!

Moron, Heatley didn’t kill anyone. He was driving a Ferrari, speeding at 58 miles per hour, there was an accident and the car split in half. His passenger, sadly, was killed. Mr. Heatley was charged, tried, convicted and punished. The family of the victim, Dan Snyder, forgave Mr. Heatley and asked that he not be sent away to prison. They realized the incident, sad as it was, was an accident. Mr. Heatley did not kill Dan Snyder. He died from injuries suffered in an accident that happened very quickly on a rain slickened roadway. What does that have to do with Vick? Vick organized, paid for, and participated in a clandestine, criminal activity for more than six years. He raised and fought Pitbull dogs, bet upon the outcomes of fights, used electronic means to communicate times and locations of contests and traveled across state lines in the furtherance of his illegal enterprise. Dogfighting is an illegal one that, in most states, is a felony. Engaging in felonious activity and conducting it clandestinely, crossing state lines in furtherance of that felonious activity, and using electronic communications to coordinate that activity is known as racketeering and that’s what Mike Vick was involved in for more than six years. Please stop trying to compare the Heatley and Vick case. They have absolutely nothing in common! Vick is a criminal. He’s done much more than fight and kill dogs and that will come out shortly. He’s involved in narcotics! Also, don’t give us anymore of your feigned dislike of hunting. We know you don’t care about violence against animals. Hell, you aren’t even concerned about violence against humans. Mike Vick is going to prison and he won’t play in the NFL again. When the narcotics charges come down, you will be on here talking about how many people abuse presribed medication. Anything to confuse the issue. To those people who like to compare this to hunting:

Hunting = Legal and regulated (not to mention necessary for controlling the population of wild animals, as well as a source of food)

Fighting dogs = Illegal (not to mention despicable and brutal; not used for population control or food)

Now, if you people REALLY think they’re the same, stop your bitc*ing and do something about it. Write your congressmen or senators (like you even know who they are anyway) and explain to them that either you feel that hunting should be outlawed and punishable by jail, or you feel that fighting and killing dogs really isn’t that bad and you think it should be legalized and regulated, just like hunting.

If you REALLY feel that way, I feel terribly sorry for you and the state of our country, but do something. Take action. Make a change.

Bright note for Ookie! My baby mammy and I visited Mike Vick’s Golden Chitterling Restaurant last evening. That is some fabulous dining. When seated, our server, Rastas, brought us a mounded-up platter of pigs feet to appetize on. They were very tasty, not too briney, and just full of that good old grizzle and fur. mouthwatering still! We had a bottle of Mogen David 20/20 and it was delicious. i suggest the Tuesday vintage. Marvelous! Then came our entrees of steaming, hot, smelly chitluns. Man, talk about chewy! it took us over an hour to ingest that greasy mess but it was scrumptious! My only criticism is of the ambiance. It was difficult to hear over all the loud, rap music being played on the stereo. When you go, be sure to pack yo nine. The parking lot is dark and some of the people lurking there aren’t interested in fine dining. Also, be prepared to be disappointed. There are no photos of dogkiller in the restaurant. Bon apetit Mofos!

Atlant a is a great city, but we have so many transplants that it is difficult to find true Atlanta fans. How do you all think Steeler fans almost outnumbered us. They were already here. My city hopefully is not filled with the ignorance i read here, if it is for sun it is not very funny. I am born and raised here and I support the Falcons, not one player. We have to support our TEAM. Mike made a dunb choice now he has to deal with it and let him. But as for OUR Falcons it be known that i for one will not waffle with the down fall of one ignorant player no matter his skin color. The beauty of sports is that it is entertainment and does not have a direct effect on lives unless we let it. I will watch the falcons and go the games because i am an Atlantan. I’m about as conservative as they come, but to be totally honest, hunting game animals, (if one doesn’t SINCERELY NEED food), is as bad as dog fighting. That’s just my opinion, but I can’t see the difference. A very high percentage of game animals are tracked, (sometimes for many miles), while bleeding and gravely wounded. Not only are they dying as they flee, they’re dying in unimaginable pain, they’re dying in a state of agonising terror. What’s the damn difference!? I hate them both!!

Latest News: there has been an agreement between prosecuters and Michaels attorney that Vick NEVER killed dogs or gambled on dogfights. The NFL (Goodell, specifically) has repeatedly said that any sanctions levied against Vick will be based on the NFL’s own investigative work. Not on what is in the plea deal.

So, let’s assume Mikey gets by with a plea agreement that doesn’t admit to gambling. Let’s say the judge accepts that and that is it for Vick’s legal matters.

If the NFL’s report says that Vick “knowingly associates with gamblers or gambling activity” (and I’m pretty sure that giving your boys money to gamble on dog fights and to fund the whole operation falls in this category), he could still face a lifetime ban.

So, why, again, do you think Vick will get less than or up to 1 year? Are you really that dense?

How do some of you people even type the letters that show up on the screen? With the lack of intellect being exhibited by most MV7 supporters, I’m actually surprised you people can even form (somewhat) coherent thoughts (would’ve put “sentences,” but a lot of the “Yay Mike!” crowd can’t even get that right). When Q and P-Funk appeared before Judge Hudson he told them there would be an upward departure at their sentencing. Translation: more prison time than the government advised. Well, the elevator is going to keep going past the mezanine for Vick. He will get three years in prison. After his release, the NFL will give him two years of suspension. Good luck Arthur in trying to recoup your funds from Vick. Just ask any mortgage company, credit card company, finance company, or local merchant when you loan money or give credit to some of these people. It’s almost impossible to get paid back. The best news I have heard lately is that the Falcons are going after $22 mill. Does everyone realize that the birds will take a $ 15 mil hit on the cap next year?!? Don’t be surprised if you hear that Judge hudson advises Vick there will be an upward departure in his sentencing because of aggravating circumstances. Vick, after all, was the money behind this criminal enterprise and he participated in killing dogs and in gambling, though he’s tried to make it appear he wasn’t very caught up in it. I believe he will give Vick at least thirty months and perhaps as much as thirty-six. The NFL will, in all likelyhood, suspend him for two or three years beyond whatever sentence he serves. Yippppeeeeee! He’s way past done Foos!

Terrell - It is a celebrity “perfect storm” and Vick is unlucky (and full of himself) enough to be the “victim”. Consider,

(1) He had achieved hero status. Certain behavior is expected from heroes (2) Vick had begun to appear pouty after losses; to blame others. This is not hero behavior. (3) The water bottle thing. Made him look silly especially his proposed conspiracy theory (4) He began talking about himself in third-person; referred to himself as “Superman”. Things that a real hero doesn’t need to do (5) He lied to us, more than once, which means he took us for chumps. Folks don’t like to be lied to, and they especially don’t like to be taken for idiots.

People expect more from their heroes. Everyone was repulsed by Jeffery Dahmer, but no one had ever heard of him and there were certainly no expectations one way or the other. Vick was Wheaties box material by contrast and somehow managed to manifest enough non-heroic traits that he finally sank his own ship. Mainly it was his taking everyone for granted that did him in. Folks won’t forget that – especially from their heroes. They might forgive eventually, but they won’t forget. That is the price of celebrity.

I hope Vick realizes that, to a man, forgiveness is a process. He can’t just say I’m sorry and be forgiven. He must do his prison time, be of a contrite spirit, do a complete U turn with his life. How long does this process take? I don’t know. I hope he was sincere, however time will tell. I really couldn’t get a read on whether he was truthful or not, because he has lied so much. I still think he should serve time and a suspension and then see if he does in fact change his life. He has a long way to go.
