This should be easy
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Why this game should be an easy win:
– The Bucs have won only three games and have lost four in a row. They’re starting a rookie quarterback who’s thrown as many interceptions as he has touchdowns. If the Falcons can get pressure in the backfield, the secondary could have a big day.
– The Falcons came to life after spotting the Redskins a two-touchdown lead. The defense held tough in the second half and didn’t allow another point.
Why this game probably won’t be easy:
– The Falcons haven’t done well against teams they should beat this season. You never know which team will show up from week to week.
– It’s still Tampa Bay, and their pride is at stake. They’re at home, and Gruden needs a win because he might be fighting to keep his job.
Go Falcons! We need this win to stay in the playoff hunt, and the next three won’t be easy.

well said…
Let’s hope the Falcon’s come out w/ a sense of urgency and play like their season is riding on this game…which every game left must be treated as a ‘must win’ (Crap, I hate using this worn out catch phrase) if the Falcon’s want a shot at the wild card.
Since they’re home & their stingy D, Tampa could be a dangerous team if ATL lets them hang around…so I hope ATL puts them away early.
If the O line protects Vick and the WR’s catch passes I think the Falcon’s should do fine. Tampa lacks decent a passing game so stopping Caddy will be key.
GOOO FALCONS!!!

Nothing comes easy for the falcons. Tampa may run over them. They are pretty even with the falcons on RB. Tampa has an upgrade on WR. Tampa has an advantage at QB.
By keeping it real!

No win in the NFL is easy. The Falcons do there Jobs we win! Not Giving up 14 points in first quarter and deep passes and dropping balls we will be OK ,if not long day!

The Bucs are pretty much hurting everywhere.
Their main WR is out for the season. When he was in, he had the dropsies.
Cadillac Williams is having a sub-par year and he has a fumbling problem.
Their offensive line is porous and the defense is fast at the ends, but is susceptible to big runs.
The fans are angry in Tampa Bay and the coach is on the hot seat.
These are the kinds of teams the Falcons lose to. We can probably beat the Colts or the Patriots, but the Bucs and the Lions? They give us trouble.
This is a make-or-break game for this coaching staff. If the Falcons come out not ready to play, heads should roll. If they come out not looking at the records and just blow them out, then the coaches can breathe another day.

Tampa will give it all they have and I think that will be enough to beat the Falcons by three or so.

Tampa has always had our number. We should not ever forgot how they dominate us on defense! Stay hungery and stay healthy and believe in each others ability to be a play-maker!

I love it. The playoffs (screw the BCS Bowls) are just around the corner and the Falcons are in the drivers seat. They will have no one to blame but themselves if they do not make the playoffs. Of the four 6-6 NFC teams, only the NY Giants have a better chance of making the playoffs besides the Falcons. PLEASE HOME TEAM DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY! The Falcons’ chances of making the playoff are still alive even if they lose this game, however, why back into the playoffs when you can go in through the front door! I will be one sick puppy if they lose this game. My heart can’t take this rollercoaster ride of season much longer. I expect the Dallas game to be a loss, but the Falcons must win against the Bucs, Panthers, and Eagles!

Hi. I’m John. I’m from Dunwoody. Did you get that? I’m John from Dunwoody. I think I am better than everyone. That is why I say I am from Dunwoody. I think that if I tell all of you that I am from Dunwoody, you all will be impressed. The reality is though that I merely rent out a room in my mother’s basement in Dunwoody. Yes, I’m a loser, that is why I hate everyone. My life is so pathetic that I have to hate someone.

Iceman,
Howdy and thanks for stealing Bird Babe, a woman I love, though we’ve never met, away from me. Yes, I think I’ve mellowed considerably. Football, though very entertaining sometimes, is still just a game. It’s not worthwhile for me to put a great deal of energy into it. What ever happens in football happens and my fixation upon it won’t change anything. Frankly, I’ve reached the satiation point on fotball and, in fact, I’ve gone past it. With the NFL on television three days of the week the novelty of it all has disappeared. I don’t have any emotion left for football. Whoever wins wins and I don’t particularly care which team it is. Guess my football mania days are behind me and I don’t miss them. I’ll still come around here just to catch a glimpse of BB and I’ll say “hello.” It’s always good to see you and I hope you’re well and happy. Take good care of BB. She’s a nice girl.

Bird Babe, that’s the best blog you’ve written. I totally agree. With that said, Falcons win! No way(with the current state of the Bucs)should the Falcons lose. If the FALCONS LOSE, JIM MORA JR. AND HIS STAFF SHOULD BE FIRED DIRECTLY AFTER THE GAME. The defense is healthy enough to hold Tampa’s offense to NO MORE THAN 10 points. The Redskins defense is better than Tampa’s and the Falcons scored 24. JIM MORA JR. DO NOT LOSE THIS GAME.

As long as Derrick Brooks is playing, there’s ALWAYS a concern for the Falcons, regardless of how awful Tampa’s offense is playing. I wouldn’t mind another 14-3 win dominated by the running game and prepare for Dallas! If Vick only throws the ball twice the entire game I don’t care, just take care of business and control of destiny!
John from Dunwoody, remind me to pimpslap the stank off your mama for bringing such a racist b@stard into this world!

I sure wish you guys had traded us Norwood for Lelie when all that crap was going on. The way our running game is lagging (no big plays whatsoever) I’d love to have that threat in the backfield every freakin’ play. I bet that would create a little space for our new rookie QB. Norwood running to the endzone through the thin air of Denver would be a pretty quick event, I bet.

John from Dumwoody,
Please turn in any posters you may have of Vick. Also, please hand in your #7 jersey and any, Mike Vick, autographed items in your possession. You are hereby excommunicated from further worship of Mr. Vick and you are advised to stay off the bandwagon should Mr. Vick ever amount to anything more than a piddling, running quarterback. You are now banished to the hinterlands of football. Don’t despair! You have plenty of company out here.

No way we will lose I’ll tell you why—the renewed life of the offense has sparked the defense. You saw the beginning of a new season for the Falcons last week. Dunn always plays great aginst his old teammates, the line actually protected Vick last week, Jenlins caught an audible rope from Vick who is playing his heart out. If there are no stupid block in the backs (Roddey), or too many holds, or QB fumbles—-the Falcons win by 10! 31-21.
Tampa’s QB is an expierement despite what Gruden see’s in him, we will blitz and rock him. Milloy, Abraham, and even Brooking will have a good game. You could see it in their intense play last week. Boley, and Hartwell will make their presense too.
All around I say we take care of business and start getting ready for the reasl challenge in the dome against Dallas——-datz da game that will seperate the players from the contenders.

As I have predicted, Atlanta will lose to Tampa, defeat Dallas, defeat Carolina, and lose to Philly, finishing the season at 8-8.
Atlanta will lose today to Tampa primarily because of two things: they are poorly coached and poorly led. Both teams have very mediocre head coaches who inherited their teams from two superior coaches (Reeves & Dungy) and, after one successful inaugural season have steadily lost the interest and respect of their respective players. Also, both Tampa and Atlanta sport two mediocre quarterbacks with one (Vick) incapable of leading his team and the other too inexperienced as a Rookie piloting a bad team.
Tampa by 4.

I have a point I need to make and I would like for you guys thoughts on my observation. It’s kind of funny that Vick needs only a few yards to be the first quarterback to run for over 1,000 yards and he seems to not want to break the record today. I guess he works only for Nike and not the team and the fans. If that’s the case then his best efforts are based on things that are off the field. No matter how good he’s playing, we can’t have our leader, especially trying to make the playoffs, thinking about showing out on a big stage to break an NFL record. What do you thing of my observation of Vick on today’s game?
