The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
I hope the Falcons will take the 2-6 Browns more seriously than they did the Lions. It won’t be easy though because we’re pretty banged up, but good teams play through injuries and find ways to win. The Falcons will show how good they are this week against a team we’re supposed to beat.
We have to rebound from the crappy performance against the Lions. Vick has to take care of the ball, and the receivers need to make plays. It’s going to hurt if Norwood doesn’t play.
D. Hall needs to let his play do the talking. Enough with the blabbering. I say this every game, but we have to get to the quarterback. So many times this season, we’ve been a step away from a sack and he ends up making a big play. We have to get there quicker.
See you at the Dome.
Go Falcons!

D-Hall’s the only guy doing his job in the secondary. Webster -THAT IDIOT, he’s the one we need to worry about. That guy couldn’t cover an 80 year old.

Mora the same … Have you people noticed how Jimmy Boy works so hard during the game … taking notes for his many binders to take to his next job interview???? He’s hoping he can impress the next owner even more than he did “ARTIE” … he’s not dumb (just in football!) Then when he goes he’ll take along his boys, the Knappster, his WEBster and his Donatellister. BE PATIENT … they all can read (I hope.)

The injuries are really depressing, and now we have potentially more this week with Lelie, Crumpler and Norwood all in question.
The Falcons will never be able to put it all together. Why should we believe Cleveland isn’t going to light up the scoreboard? As it stands, this defense is right up there with Falcon defenses from the mid/late 80s…and the offense is teetering on going into the tank.
Ok Jim Mora Jr…you need to try another line other than “it’s not time to push the panic button.” I’M SICK OF THAT SH!T!

Things are looking bleak and the brief weak stretch of our schedule is nearing the end. Ordinarily I would be ecstatic about Webster being forced to the bench, but with Mathis also out and the thus-far putrid Jimmy Williams starting at corner, this isn’t going to be an easy game, which is a thoroughly depressing thing to admit.

The sad display in Detroit is an example of why I’ve referred to the Falcons as Foulcons. The wheels are very close to coming off this shoddy vehicle! Vick is defensive about his performanco of last week and players, for one reason or another, are disappearing from the ranks of the available. The coaching staff has failed badly and that’s going to continue I’m afraid. The Falcons won games against the Steelers and Bengals by outscoring them but just barely. With Crumpler and Norwood out, who is there to step forward and lead? The Falcons may win this game. I don’t think so, but they may. If they do not win, it’s going to be a long, sad second half to this season. Cleveland is not a good team but neither is Detroit. If there’s a hangover from last week’s disaster the Falcons may be headed toward another 8-8, or worse, season and Mora and his crew will be headed out the door.

Good grief, just last week before the Lions game this attitude was totally different. We were the 2nd best team in the NFC and Vick was all that. You lose ONE game, and yes I know it was the Lions but hell the Bears lost to the freaking Dolphins, and now the sky is falling. If we win say the next two out of three, y’all will be singing a different tune like you always do. Fairweather flakes!

who is going to play nickel back situations? Rossum? I just hope Cleveland makes an inordinate amount of mistakes because it will take a miracle for our secondary to stop anyone. It takes balance of strong pass rushing and good coverage in the secondary to stop a passing game. I would like to see more bump and run on (what is now) Williams side of the field let him get physical with those recievers get the timing off to give the pass rush a second longer to get to the QB.We are vunerable to quick slants because we blitz our linebackers so often to force pressure unfortunately the quarterback takes 3 steps and throws on that play negating the blitz as well. The fix for this to either continually drop the outside linebackers into zone underneath those routes or have the corners bump the recievers off the line to disrupt the timing and then hope a pass rusher gets to the qb before he can make a play. In a game where the team is beat up its up to the coaching staff to make the right calls at the right times.

Webster is out—everyone got there wish—-now we will see. It is not “fair” to throw the kid in—but there you go. Web is out, hartwell, Norwood, abe, forney, and a few others. Really excieted about this game—weather the falcons pack it in or not. We’ll see. Go birds.

Webster saw what was coming and feined injury! Great whatever it took! Anyone they put in would be an improvement. Will may take his lumps but in the in the secondary will be better for it. Now I gotta go and dance in the streets!!

For all you who are doubting the Falcons right now! Just sit back and watch! Now I have too admit there been some bone head coaching decision that has been made. But the players that we have on this team will allow that too happen! This is the game were it all turn around for the Falcons. This team has just become dominate in all phases of dthe game! From now throughout the reminder of the season! Watch!!!!!!!!

All us bloggers have said for weeks bench Webster. Well he is benched. It is time for our number 1 draft choice to step up and make our defense better. There is hardly any way it could be worse. If we continue to give up all these passing yards, the defensive coach should pack up his pickup and slip away into the night. We cannot expect to score 30+ points a game. Somewhere we have to stop our opponent.

The only problem this team has is in stepping up and being the team we saw in the good games. It’s not coaching anymore, we run and pass, we blitz, we even have a few trick plays. The coaches can’t put the “problem players” (Webster, Forney, Hartwell)back in the game because they are all hurt. Maybe we miss Mathis, but somebody else wanted his job before he got hurt, now that somebody (whoever it turns out to be) has to show and prove.
The Falcons lost three games because of lack of effort (the Giants game was lack of effort from the coaches), lack of heart, lack of something, that caused them to play like they didn’t even want to win. Coaches at the pro level can’t be motivators. By that time the players are a bigger deal than most coaches. Pro players had to be highly self-motivated to even get into the league, and if they can’t stay motivated (at least by the money) then they deserve all the disregard and disrepect that losing brings.
I believe this Falcons team can show that they indeed have enough motivation and heart to be the team real fans know they can be. First stop on the road to glory is this week against Cleveland. Win or lose, if they show heart, we’ll be just fine.

Raiola, of the Lions, says he’s going to “take DeAngelo Hall’s head off,” the next time he sees him. Here’s hoping he does! I saw the hit he put on Kitna, with a forearm to the head, after Kitna was down and it was vicious and it was flagrant. Hall started a bunch of jibber-jabber and gave his phone number and address when he was told of what Raiola says but Hall had better stick to hitting people from behind! Raiola has the ability to render that thug motionless and I hope he will. By the way, several folks, including Wyche, have been disrespecting Kitna’s ability but they shouldn’t do that. Kitna has passed for 2200 yards this season. He’s about nine hundred ahead of Michael Vick.

I am sure Mr. DeAngelo Hall will be much more focused on his coverage skills after the league office fines his “dirty birdie booty” a chunk of his change for being the cheap shot artist of the week. That was one hellatious of a headhunter job he unleashed on John Kitna. Congratulations to the rest of our no-class league secondary for making Kitna look like Dan Marino for the day!!!

“There once was a Falcon corner named DeAngelo Hall”
“Who staked a claim that he could cover the best of them all”
“Then along came John Kitna throwing to his Motown friends”
“While King Arthur’s hand was way up Prince Jimmy’s rear end”
“DeAngelo discovered he’s a headhunter who can’t cover or defend.

Tito,
I know you’re a Falcon hater but who cares what Kitna’s stats are? OK, he helped beat the Falcons, big whoop, he also lost to the Packers and Jets…2 bad teams, he’s never done this consistently. He is the epitome of mediocre! As for Hall, who the heck does this guy think he is? Apparently, he thinks he’s Deion Sanders (he even wears his old #), but here’s the problem: Deion at least backed up his talk with his play, Hall does only occasionally. Come on D-Hall, just go out there and play the game you’re capable of, don’t take cheap shots or talk out the side of your mouth, just go out and let your play do the talking. I have a feeling the game this Sunday could be a struggle. Cleveland has a tendency to stick around until the very end, and if we’re not careful, the Browns could sneak out of here with a W. We need to jump on them early and make Frye or whoever their QB is beat us. We need to keep the pressure on them and force them into mistakes. Here’s hoping we get back on track…..GOOOOO FALCONS!!!!

1Faconfan,Kitna is always referred to as a mediocre quarterback but the fact is he’s better than that. In ten years, many as a backup, he’s thrown for 20,433 yards and 118 touchdowns. Vick, in six years has thrown for 10, 393 yards and 62 touchdowns. If Kitna is mediocre, what is Vick?

Great predictions.
Can we solve the depth problem at CB by switching Roddy White? I mean he’ll never get any interceptions but he can be counted on to “play the ball.” :-0 (Sorry. Sick humor.)
Go Tyson & PJ: we like your protection package! The rest of the DLine has gotta step up and stuff the run holes. If Kerney is getting triple teamed, the other guys need to break through to disrupt Frye.

People you have no football knowledge. Learn the game before you talk about players. D-hall has been doing his job when your in the zone D you are only responsible for a certain part of the feild. That’s why they call it zone D.And when your D puts you in bad feild position it makes it hard for any offense. Thats’s the #1 reason we beat the steelers. Fans stay down with your team or find another team to cheer for. Nobodies forcing you to cheer for the Falcons

Webster, Bad call to say that Jason Webster is not injured but faked his way out of being benched. The man has had a fractured vertebre in his neck before and I have no doubt his injury is not fake! You know I have been reading these blogs all season and everyone is down on Webster. If you people really knew the inner workings of an offensive coaches mind you would see that on almost all pass plays the first option is to go away from the stongest DB which on the Falcons is D. Hall and this is a must if they are playing zone defense. Now that puts more pass plays in Jason Websters zone therefore more passes are going to be completed against him it is just a matter of numbers. If you were coaching against the Falcons would you throw D. Halls way very often? This is not to say that Webster is the best DB in the NFL but he is not the worst either he is just the weakest of the 2 evils in the secondary.

Folks, you’ll notice that the coward wh left this didn’t leave his registered screen name. As for being a leberal, I’m happy to be one. Congress is full with liberals now Redneck! I’ll continue to call thugs what they are and DeAngelo Hall is a thug! Video proves it. In fact, the whole of the Foulcons’ defense is based upon thuggery. Like it? I don’t care. The person who left this post is a thug. He sneaks in and leaves, the equivalent of, graffiti, defacing this blog with his foul leavings. Get up the courage to, at least, sign in under your screen name. I suspect Suck here and he doesn’t want another suspension, so he puts down a fictitious handle. The Falcons are in real trouble and fans, such as the one who left this post, are part of the overall problem. They’re happy with thugs and the style of play epitomized by the flagrant hit on Jon Kitna. They don’t demand excellence and they never get it either. The Falcons seem to be in position to for a playoff dive and that’s all fans such as Suck, or whomever, deserve!

D Hall sucks! He has a great ability, big mouth and talent, but his skills of covering in zone sucks! Roy Williams showed that last week when he scored on a post route in front of Hall, who didnt make a effort to make a play on the ball and let Williams run across the field for the score! In fact, this whole team sucks, from ownership to min. paid player! I will not be shocked if the Falcons lose to the Browns!

Hey vabirddawg, Have you watched Vick today? Every throw except the drop by Leile in the endzone at the end of the first half has been bad! Behind, overhead, underthrown, low & behind… And he has gotten protection. You can’t blame the o-line for lack of pass protection in this one. C’mon open your eyes and see what it is. He has been VERY bad today in 1st half.

I really don’t know what to think - gutless team ? bumbling coaches ? This season will make last season’s look successful. T, I AM NOT saying Vick is doing well. Other than those 2 games that were total aberations, Vick is not a QB. I have said all along that we would be a better team with Vick out of the backfield and Schaub as QB. At least my Dawgs won this weekend, so it’s not a total loss. Go Dawgs!

Let me make one thing perfectly clear…..The Falcons will never win a Championship as long as Micheal Vick is under center. He is an absolute piece of s**. Number one the guy cannot even line up under center. Damn…And yes it is a final score…The Falcons have once again become the Falcons….A miserable group of football players and even furthermore a terrible group of coaches who cannot get this team up for the game…..This team is no where near a contender. You know what a contender is? How bout the San Diego Chargers, who were down 28-7 at the half on the freakin road, and have scored 42 points in the second half to steal a win over Cincy. That my friends is a contender. With a schedule ahead for the Falcons, the season to me, is absolutely over unless some real soul-searching is done within the next week or two.

F-O-U-L-C-O-N-S! Now that pretty much sums it up, doesn’t it? The Falcons are a sorry team from top to bottom. Let’s hear the excuses for Vick. Let’s hear how the three turnovers weren’t his fault. He played his usual game and the Foulcons lost as usual. The Browns played well and deserved this victory, just as the Lions deserved their win last week. The Foulcons are not going to any playoffs. Bet on that!

Falcon still have a chance to win the Division New Orleans this Sunday. They will throw and throw this week you can bet on that Our Run defense has not been bad, but teams are using the short passing game to occupy our LINEBACKER then they hit us with their running game Zone defense is not the strenght of the Falcons WE got to allow our LB to blit sometimes must bump the wideout off the line of scrimage to disrupt timing if you are going to sticks to this cover 2 defense. AND WATCH OUT FOR THE REVERSE THEY ARE GOING TO RUN WITH BUSH I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISE IF THAT ISN’T THE FIRST PLAY OF THE GAME FOR THE SAINTS. And if ROSSUM is starting we need to hepl him with a safety at all time might leave the middle of the field open you have to pick your poison. He is a liability out there. Kick the ball away from Bush at all times simple S** don’t allow his team to feed off his b******. We need to run Norwood alot in this game if he is healthy then hit them with Dunn. US THE SWING PASS TO KEEP THE OUTSIDE LINEBACKER HONEST AND FROM RUSHING DOWN HILL SINCE WE ARE THIN UP FRONT RIGHT NOW. Short up pass plays 5 yard outs and stops on first down keep us in second and short. Work Vick out the shot Gun. SCREEN PLAYS CAN BE OUR BREAD AND BUTTER THIS WEEK BECAUSE THEY ARE GOING TO BE COMING HARD UP FIELD. are on a two game losing streak so they are going to be eager to make that big play on defense. Watch. ALL THE FACONS HAVE TO DO IS PLAY WITH EMOTION AND Vick slow the game down in his head AND THE RECEIVERS HAVE TO CATCH THE EASY PASSES AS WELL AS THE Difficults pass also. Sounds easy it is GO FALCONS
