One last practice day before New York
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Today will be the last day of blogging from training camp before Friday’s preseason game against the Jets. The Falcons travel to New York on Thursday so there won’t be any player availability then.
Demorrio Williams said he was fine yesterday after diving after a tipped ball and hitting the ground hard, we’ll see if he’s out there today. We’ll also monitor the Laurent Robinson injury. Petrino said he wasn’t 100 percent yesterday, but added this after yesterday’s practice: “I think he’s going to be fine by Friday. He took a lot of reps today. He is a tough young man. It is not his first injury so he will be able to fight through it and go. We definitely are going to get him some work on Friday.”
Kynan Forney is another player to keep an eye on. He didn’t practice yesterday after his back tightened up during a morning meeting. It’ll be a good sign if he’s back at it today. Alge Crumpler continues to ease back into action after a frustrating setback last week. Yesterday he worked the stationary bike outside pretty hard, we’ll see if he does any more than that today.

I love reading your blog every day, it is the best objective view of the falcons I have been able to get all year. TY for keeping it up :)
Anyways, Could you update us some on how Snelling, Irons, and more on Jimmy Williams is always fun to hear. I haven’t heard too much about how our backup OTs are doing either, considering Gandy seems to be injury prone a little bit I was concerned about them as well.

I second Collin’s comments. Great stuff. Speaking of the OT’s, how is our pass protection looking?

I guess it is good news for DJ that they have not brought in another QB. Do you think they bring another in when other teams start cutting?

Hey Craig, This is sorta off topic but I was wondering if you could ask Petrino about the Tight End competition again this week. He has said that the competition at that position is between Fells and Milner, yet Fells wasn’t put into the game even once at the Tight End position last night. It looks to me like it’s not a “competition” because they’re not letting Fells compete. Milner played the whole game. Seems like they don’t want anyone to outshine their questionable 4th round draft pick, and that means that politics are outweighing the true search for talent. They even cut his reps WAY down at practice. Are they trying to hide him for some reason? Maybe just see what he has to say. Thanks buddy.
