No chance to finish .500

St. Louis — Another poor performance by the Falcons Sunday, although they made it interesting, culminated in a loss to St. Louis. The three-win Falcons fell behind quickly and couldn’t beat the Rams, who got their third win. How bad was it? The Falcons turned to backup quarterback Chris Redman in the fourth quarter. Redman replaced a struggling and banged up Joey Harrington. He lead the Falcons on two scoring drives but came up short on a third. With the loss, the Falcons can not finish with a record over .500. With four games remaining, the best the Falcons can do is 7-9 — the same record that got Jim Mora fired after last season. Think that will happen? Games remain against New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Arizona and Seattle.

Well, the Falcons will lose against New Orleans, Tampa Bay and Seatlle for sure. Arizona may fall down, so we may go 4-12. That’s exactly what I thought this team would be this year.

And only 4 more games to go! I, for one, can’t wait for it to end.

Quick, somebody get members of the Atlanta Police Department out to Flowery Branch, A crime has been committed! Falcon players have stolen paychecks again. Taking money under false pretenses. Drag all but Andersen, Norwood and Redman away. To Hell with their rights! These losers and quitters have none. Lock the C+++++++++S up then throw away the key. Lock ‘em up with Vick if possible. Even losers and quitters deserve company! Maybe one day there WILL be an NFL team in Georgia. Looking forward to THAT day!

This is pitiful. Perhaps the more prudent course is to encourage Petrino to pursue a college vacancy rather than worry that he might leave.

Did anyone REALLY expect this REALLY bad football team to win 8 games this year? I don’t expect them to win 8 games next year! When Vick was the QB, his performances did a lot to mask a team that is not good defensively, w/o him REALLY bad offensively, and now has a coaching staff that includes terrible playcalling. It is nice they have the highest paid Fullback in the NFL, though. Got that KEY position covered. what an incompetent franchise. Cracks me up that Redman, who was kicked to the curb by the Ravens, who have they own QB issues, got playing time.

Maybe they’ll keep feeding Dunn the football. He seems to be one of the top producing backs in the league. His unique combination of speed, power and elusiveness is only matched by his incredible effort as he smashes through tacklers, fighting for every extra yard.

It’s great knowing the team has such a great handle on their RB situation. tremendous awareness of who is producing, of who is threatening the opponents.

As a season ticket holder, I abso-freakin-lutely LOVE it. how aboutthe rest of you?

Dunn has 3 times the amount rushing atts. as Norwood 180 to 60 but only about 100 more yards. If Norwood had 180 atts. then hmmm. Everyone want Darren Mcfadden in the draft but its possible we already have him on the sideline, someone should let the coach know.

Hi Steve,

Is Warrick Dunn the team’s most effective RB?

If you think he is, under what circumstances is he? Short yardage? Long yardage? Base set? Passing set? Why?

Thanks.

Aahhh…how comfy…this old familiar feeling, like a old blanket….being all hopeful and optimistic since 2002 has been too much. I think I prefer the familiarity of knowing its a 4-12 season in week 12.

Heck, I’m surprised that they’ve won as many games as they have this year. Hopefully the rest of the home games will be blacked out. To bad they’ll still be on tv for the away games though.

One question for Petrino. Why the hell hasn’t Redman played more this season?
