Petrino finally declares his return
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Even though he’d addressed the issue twice this week, Falcons coach Bobby Petrino never said that he would not entertain any potential offers from collegiate programs or that he planned to return to coach the team next season.
So, after being pressed again, Thursday, he finally gave a definitive answer.
“All my plans are to be here,” Petrino said. “There’s no question about that. I get asked the same question every day. That’s my plans.”
Whether a collegiate program tries to change those plans remains to be seen but word is that Petrino is not being seriously considered for any of the job openings or potential vacancies, the most attractive of which are Arkansas and possibly LSU.
In another note, offensive tackle Todd Weiner was placed on injured reserve today after having his second left knee operation. The Falcons have 13 players on IR, 5 of them players that have started.
Five of those players were used as tandems, which make their losses doubly painful. Weiner, a right tackle, and left tackles Wayne Gandy/Renardo Foster were all lost for the season with left knee injuries. Defensive tackles Trey Lewis (knee) and Rod Coleman (thigh, knee, triceps, hand) both went down against Tampa Bay nearly two weeks ago.
A lot of teams have sustained a lot of injuries, including Sunday’s opponent, St. Louis, but the Falcons were already a team that had a small margin for setbacks — and they’ve had more than their share.

Thank God! What could be worse than P-U-trino leaving? Oh yeah, staying would be worse! This man, by his horrible coaching, has made us grow fonder of the memory of when Dan Henning was here, stinkin’ up the place. There’s a guy, just fired from that trade school on North Avenue, who would make a much better coach for this lousy franchise. Get him, get somebody but rid yourself of this mental midget P-U-trino.

I’m glad Petrino is staying but I will not be convinced until the start of the 08 season. He has a reputation for changing his mind. If he stays for next year I hope the Falcons can find a quarterback, a running back, some healthy offensive and defensive linemen, a couple of safeties, and oh yeah, a kicker. Then maybe Petrino’s system will have a chance, at least for one more year.

Praise the Lord! What could be worse than P-U-trino leaving? Oh yeah, that’s right, his staying would be worse! This man, by virtue of horrible decision making and even worse coaching, has managed to restore Dan Henning’s legacy to the positive side of the ledger. There’s a guy, just fired from the trade school on North Avenue, who would make a much better coach for this moribund franchise than what they have in P-U-trino who has shown himself to be an unsalvageable fool. Please, somebody, hire this guy for your college and let us try to resurrect this franchise and restore it to the ranks of the merely awful, instead of where it is now in the ranks of the rankly, offensively awful.

If you truly knew Coach Petrino you would realize that he is only able to utilize about 1/10th of his playbook here due to injury and being Vickless. He came here on the agreement that Vick would be here and he could open his book for an explosive season. Don’t blame him for the lack of talent on this current squad. Blame Rich McKay. He is the primary individual who is in charge of signing new talent. His performance here has been pitiful. Prioritize your blame. I guarentee you if you consider the it factor we would be have lossed maybe 3 games.

Putridwino is without honor or character. Lies suit him as they did Adolph Hitler or (fill in blank with name of ANY politician)! When big green talks BP will listen! By packing his bags as quick as he can. Do not expect to see him on Falcon sidelines in 2008. Good riddance to bad garbage. Putrino can take everyone but Andersen and Norwood. As if he, or anyone, would want the pathetic quitters! Bye bye Bobby!

DON’T WORRY ARTIE AND RICHIE, IF BOOBY LEAVES, YA’LL CAN STILL BE THE THREE STOOGES OF THE NFL. IF YOU REMEMBER WHEN SHIMP LEFT THE THREE STOOGES THEY QUICKLY REPLACED HIM WITH CURLY AND THEY WERE STILL RIDICULOUSLY FUNNY! MORAN WAS REPLACED BY BOOBY AND NOW ARTIE AND RICHIE CAN HIRE ANOTHER IDIOT AND THE FALCONS WIN THE TRIPLE CROWN OF HILARITY.
