We’ll find out who’s a pro on Turkey Day

The Falcons broke practice today with several players saying they were eager to see how the team competes Thursday night against visiting Indianapolis.

Some players said they were eager to face the defending Super Bowl champions but they weren’t sure everyone was over the recent loss to Tampa Bay or has regained focus on the task at hand knowing that there won’t be postseason play.

Believe it or not, and this is true in all sports, some of the motivation to play well is being on national TV. Although the game is on NFL Network, which is not available in every television market, the fact that people who typically don’t get to watch the Falcons might be tuned in, has some players stoked.

This group of players hasn’t shown an inclination to mail it in so far, so it will be interesting to see the true professionalism of this team on Thanksgiving.

One thing to be thankful for is this season is almost over. As for the Thanksgiving day game, be thankful for tryptophan. I’d like for someone to address all the injuries that have happened this season. On top of all the #7 drama, new coach and the like, this teams has sustained an unusual number of players going down. What gives?

We have all the makings for a Bad News Birds type game. Can heart really overcome superior talent? A better question would be can heart really overcome vastly superior talent? We have so many backups and practice squaders in there that I’m afraid Manning wont get touched because our guys will have forgeten what it’s like to actually be allowed to make contact with a QB.

Are there any plans to do a big article on Jamaal Anderson and his rookie struggles? I think it would be a good read. All we ever hear are little snippits and overused talking points about how he’s doing the dirty work and how it takes linemen longer to adjust. I’d like to hear fresh opinions on Anderson. What are execs from other teams thinking about Anderson? What do his college coaches think about his struggles? What does Anderson himself think? Is this a surprise to the draft gurus who had him ranked so high? Is it too early to worry about him not panning out? There is a lot of controversy over the underproductive DE.

This team has fallen farther than the Smith family could have ever taken this team. I wish Arthur never bought this team. Thursday we all will be glad the game is on NFL network since we will get embarrased

At least we might have a prayer now that Leftwich is out. Sore tailbone? HAAAAA ;) That was Bobby’s way out of saying he really screwed up last weekend! That being said,he’s a rookie coach so we can expect some rookie mistakes. If we stay patient with him I think he’s got what it takes to eventually get us what we want…A WINNING TEAM! It’s Thanksgiving so I want to say I am SO thankful we have 3 WINS!!!! Happy Thanksgiving everybody and God Bless!

Hey remember last year the Chicago Bears were unbeaten mid-season. The Miami Dolphins were traveling to cold Soldier Field as 15 point underdogs. Guess who was the QB, Dolphins pulled an upset.

Trivia: Also who was the last team to beat New England in regular season, and who was the QB to beat Tom Brady. Who was that guy anyway.

I am hearing the same attitude from him, before he faced Chicago last year and before he faced New England. This team is playing for pride now, nothing to lose - the Colts better be ready!!!

Come on Steve, this one is over before it starts. And with the whole season over also, its time to start watching the Thrashers, who are the only hope of postseason play in Atlanta.

Leftwich is a much bigger disappointment than Harrington. At least Joey will get back up and keep playing, Leftwich reminds me of Donovan McNabb who seems to pack it in midseason if the Iggles are out of contention. Joey might be just good enough to stay on as a backup behind our soon to be drafted future QB. Leftwich seems to have nothing left. Defensive woes continue as Coleman and Trey Lewis go down. Why did we let Josh Mallard, now a starter at Denver, Darrell Shropshire and Paul Carrington go this year? They all got replaced by players who can’t stay healthy. Mallard, Shrop and Carrington were all healthy players, we missed again by releasing healthy players for retreads.

Nice pep rally. Falcons lose and lose big. Doesn’t matter if it’s Harrington or Leftwich. Doesn’t matter even one bit.

It’s easy to fault the offensive line, quarterbacks, owners, etc., but let’s face it… the root cause of the problems this season is the stupid and selfish actions of #7. The team and fans put their faith in him, and will continue to suffer until the team can be re-built sufficiently. Maybe a couple of defensive scores can keep the Falcons the game on Thursday.

When are we going to draft or sign new players for our offensive line? Petyon Manning will look horrible for playing for the Falcons!

“This group of players hasnt shown an inclination to mail it in so far, so it will be interesting to see the true professionalism of this team on Thanksgiving.” Steve Wyche, youre a joke! This mailed it in weeks ago! If you stop shinning on ESPN, you might have seen that already! True professionalism? This team is full of scrubs!
