Peace and Love for Hall, T.O.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Don’t know which Christmas tunes you Falcons fans have been bumping in your Bat Mobiles. But I had that old Jackson Five disc in. You know, when Jermaine asks Michael, “What do you for Christmas?” And the old Michael –- pre-bleaching, real nose and Afro Michael -– blurts out “Peace and Love for everyone.”
Well he’s got his wish. At least part of it.
After an intercession by Deion Sanders, there’s nothing but Peace and Love between Atlanta’s DeAngelo Hall and Dallas Terrell Owens.
Here’s how the peace accord went down.
T.O. contacted Primetime. Who contacted D. Hall. While Hall wouldn’t called Owens his friend, he said the spitting incident was behind both of them.
He credited Sanders with setting up the call. “He was pretty persuasive,” Hall said. “He’d actually been calling the past couple of days, calling Deion to get me on the phone, but like I said. I didn’t want anything to do with the guy.” Hall eventually decided to listen.
“I told Deion this after I got off the phone with him,” Hall said. “I don’t think my Mom could have got me to the phone with that guy. For you to be able to get me on the phone speaks highly of the amount of respect that I have for you as a person and as a mentor to me.”
Now with Peace and Love settled with T.O., will Hall not let Steve Smith run past him this week when the Falcons play Carolina?

Another in the long list of lame and pathetic blogs by our so called falcons beat writers. At least wyche isn’t writing it for once. Also, why the hell does Wyche need to write an article about worthless players like D. Hall backing Mora. Of course he will back a coach who doesn’t call out the pathetic plays he has been accountable for. I thought Alge’s quote was more telling when he said if this would have happened early in the season we would have been affected more, but we know we have to win these games whether or not he wants to be here or not to make the playoffs. Please stop writing articles that encourage keeping Mora because the spoiled brat needs to be out of here regardless of what we do this season. WE WON’T MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, and it will probably be good that we don’t as sad as that is. Fire this entire staff, even Joe D.! Also, what was up with George Stewart’s fat arse bear hugging TO at the end of that game. What a pathetic loser, he was probably asking him how he could better do his job. This staff just continues to p** me off. Please BLANK, do something.

D Hall is currently the most overrated CB in the NFL. Constantly gets burned deep. Plays to soft in zone coverage. The majority of his INT’s have come from very bad under thrown or over thrown balls from the QB’s. He is “supposed” to be the fastest man in the NFL but I can’t tell. I think he really believes he can play like my all time favorite corner Primetime. DS was one of the only corners who could trick a QB into thinking a receiver was open and then react with the quickness of a cat and have the ball in his hands going the other direction. D Hall, you’re are not there yet my man. Think this kid potential is to the stars but for now, hush the mouth, humble yourself and just play.

I wonder if Deion and call D-Hall back and ask him to zip his lip and stop with the childish antics and think of the example he is NOT setting for his son and hurting the team acting like a brat on the field?

Who cares. Hey D-Hall, get off the phone and go watch some film to see why you got beat, so it doesn’t happen against Carolina. Because I heard he’s got some beef with you too.

Question…why do the Falcons still need help to make the playoffs if they win out?
They would be 9-7 as would Philly, and Atlanta would hold the tie-breaker over Philly because they would have beaten them to close out the season.
Anyone know the answer to this??
By Larry
December 20, 2006 05:31 PM | Link to this
Chris,
I think it’s because Philly could end the season 9-7 and still win their division. In that case, they’d finish ahead of the Falcons.
But what happens if Dallas wins their division, and ATL, Philly and NY end 9-7? NY would hold the tie breaker over ATL, and ATL would hold the tiebreaker over Philly, but Philly would hold the tiebreaker over NY. Who gets in then?

T.O. and DHALL deserve each other, they both think they are a helluva lot better than they actually are and one is a punk(TO) and the other is a GUTLESS PUNK(DHALL).

One question, after TO spit on DHall, on the next pass TO caught, why did he not get tackled by EVERYBODY!!!
What would a real man like SCOTT CASE or RONNIE LOTT have done to TO?
THE PUNK WOULD NOT BE PALYING THIS COMING WEEKEND.
Grow a set DHALL, the fans are more p** off at you for not being a aman than they are at TO for being a punk!

who is going to negotiate the peace treaty between deion and tim mccarver? that thing all those years ago was about the most classless thing there ever was and deion still will not apologize or admit any wrongdoing about it. pretty sad. you’re a real man, deion. a real man.
Still love you though deion. i just like pointing out your hypocrisy and continued desperation for attention. but you were definitely by far the best cornerback there ever has been.
WHy is Deion so in love with DHALL though? What is he seeing that the rest of us are not seeing in DHALL? it is very strange. When you are of Deion’s historical stature, you should never be the one begging and pleading with DHALL to get DHALL to do anything. That is just sad. Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Dale Earnhardt, Muhummad Ali, Joe Dimaggio, JOhn Elway, Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas would never be caught dead begging for some johnny come lately (and all too often too late) to answer their telephone calls. If he were still alive, you would not see Bear Bryant lowering himself right now to be calling around and begging for people to take the Alabama job.

Y’all need to read Steve’s joke of an interview with Little Jimmy Mora.
What a freaking puff piece!
Hey, Steve, next time we want to read stuff that soft, we’d have to read the ingrediants off of a bag of Stay-Puft Marshmallows.
And to Little Jimmy Mora… cry my a freaking river, you spoiled brat. It must have been really hard to be given everything handed to you on a silver platter because of your last name.
Your defenses in San Fran sucked. Terrence Mathis has come out and pretty much said so, and the numbers from your last year there prove him out.
You had no business being hired here, and you can thank your lucky stars your name, your magic notebooks, and your outstanding interview pulled the wool over Arthur’s eyes.
You’ve robbed Michael Vick of a sucessful career by bringing in your BFF, Greg Knapp, to fit a square peg in a round hole. The man doesn’t even allow audibles at the line of scrimage for God’s sake!!!
And you’ve robbed us, the fans, of a stable franchise that should be led by Lovie Smith for the next 10 years.
So excuse me if I feel no pity for you and your petulant attitude.
Little Jimmy, we sure are going to miss your immaturity at the press conferences. We’re going to miss your terrible offensive and defensive philosophies.
Oops… did you get that, that was sarcasm!
The sooner Arthur fires your dumb@$$ the better off all parties will be, including us, the fans.
Good riddance to spoiled rubish.

I agree with one of the earlier posters, why all the sympathy for Mora. Heck, he is only being nice to the media and fans now because he put his foot in his mouth. The guy thinks its all about him and his useless coordinators and undercoached players. No regard for the fans nor the media. His blind loyalty and coachs player mentality is the reason for medicocre results. Then the guy wants us to believe that back to back 8-8 seasons are indicators of success. Not with the investmnts Arthur have made, he has taken top shelf talent and made them average are even below in many cases. What is obvious to many fans and media types, he’ll tell us we don’t have a clue and its just a matter of execution. Garbage, is this system they have installed and trash is what it has yielded. No razzle dazzle, no imaginative plays on either side of the ball. Blank is not as hell bent on winning as we thought either because no way would a guy who trashed my organization would be leading it the following weekend. Mora has gotten to where he is on name, not merit. His track record is unimpressive and doesn’t appreciate the grind most coaches have to take to get one of the 32 slots available in the NFL. Mora needs to go, yet the writers continue to try to shift the blame on the players and not this Benedict Arnold and his 49er reject coachs. Sickens me, as it should all true Atlanta Fans. Hire a freaking 49er west coast puke and he back stabs the players, fans, owner and the City. Yet, as always he gets a mulligan. Membership in the good ole boys club has its privelidges!

Enough with the Lovie Smith banter. While I am NOT a Mora supporter please explain to me what offense he has brought to the table in Chicago? Defense yes, but Offense..please! So if he was hired here and our D was awesome, but Offense was what you see in Chicago now, you “Vick Haters” would still be hating! As for Dhall the reason he gets beat is our D system is too damn soft. Let him play man all day and then we can all pass judgement. With all that is going on with the Falcons right now, this particular topic takes backseat billing in my opinion. I would like to know the status of Norwood. Is he expected to play Sunday and if so, to what extent? What does Donatell plan to do to plug all the leaks in his defense? Why has the running game gone south over the past few games? Will the defense abandon the “soft zone” concept and throw caution to the wind in these last two games and come with the heat? Will Knapp open up his offense more against a suspect Carolina secondary? Please give us football coverage!

Fact of the matter is D-Hall ran his mouth like crazy in the beginning of the season (“im going to get three picks, two tds”) and when his boasts werent happening he starting pressuring himself to make the big plays. Now he’s been getting burned almost every game (saints, cowboys, steelers). Other players dont like him at all…that guy on the lions wanted to hurt hall, owens spit in his face. Another quite revealing thing just occured to me. Do you guys know that the falcons are 0-18 in their last 18 games when trailing going into the fourth quarter. Isn’t leading your team down the field when it counts in the fourth part of being a great qb. Apparently when a comeback is necessary Mr. Vick can’t do it. Also what stats do you want me to use, passer rating, passing yards, yards per attempt, yards per completion, completion percentage? The only two stats you guys have are TD passes (over 57% coming in 3 games) and rushing yards. Now if he was a RB, I would care about that. Now what stats are you guys looking at?

**I dont feel too bad about Hall and TO making up. Lets face it, Hall must have said something pretty awful for TO to react that way, so I would surmise that Hall deserved the spittle.
I have to laugh when Hall annoints himself the fastest man in the NFL but then gets beat week after week, by the receivers he is assigned to play.
And Hall never met a runner he wanted to tackle. The guy stinks at tackles in the open field. Pro Bowl what a laugh.
As for Deoin, he is also a joke. Remember when he told the Falcons he wanted to be a coach for them and bump experience, he didnt need that to coach. And the Tim thing where Sanders dumped the water on the guys head, was a very immature and stupid thing to do , even back then. Too bad Sanders didnt have a big brother to step in and make some phone calls.
Well at least Hall can go to dinner again with TO and Steve Smith. Maybe together, maybe go home together, share some loves. You dont do dinner with opposing players. Ask Vince Lombardi about dinner with the other teams players…..* ” *I wouldnt go to dinner with my own players !”
Falcons are a joke .
