That’s All Folks!
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Ahhhhh, summer. The thought of it makes my mouth water. I’m sure all you teachers out there know what I’m talking about. Luckily, my summer vacation starts tonight, after I’ve put the finishing touches on my final story of the school year.
Yes, folks, I’m taking a break — from blogging, from journalism, from the daily pressures of life.
For the next few weeks, some of the other reporters and editors on the team will be filling in as blogmaster. They’ll be getting a baptism by fire, I’m sure — just as I did six months ago. But they’ll also learn that so many of you share the same passion that we journalists do for education.
That has been truly gratifying for me to see. And, for that, I thank you.

Gosh…do you get accused of only working “part time” like teachers do? We’ll miss you. ARe you returning in August when school starts? Is someone else going to cover CRCT scores, summer school, the covert goings on of the school boards that always seem to happen when teachers are on vacation?

I know you will miss us but have as good a time as you possibly can and don’t worry about us—be very concerned for your fill in’s though! :-)

All I got to say is that I promise to stay off of my blog (the first day). I WILL be lurking, but my position is made pretty clear in the blog itself! (And you should be able to tell I wrote it without even looking at the by-line! :P)

We promise to be nice to the next victi, er, wonderful person who takes over this blog. I know at times it seems like a thankless job, but we really appreciate all you’ve done. Take care and best of luck!

Bridgett, hope you enjoy your time off! As Janine said, with EOCT and CRCT scores coming back soon, hopefully those will be topics that can be addressed on the blog.
BTW, as a cross blog reference, there is a interesting topic on the Sandy Springs blog today asking what parents who are no longer K-12 school parents do with their time.
