Punch-Drink-Love
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Whether you are blissfully coupled up, single for life, or reeling from a break up the primary goal is not to have an awful Valentine’s Day. Well MIA is here to help you in what I call the Punch-Drink-Love Valentine’s Day Plan:
Punch! Do you fall in the “reeling from a break up” category? This event is for you. The great folks at Crunch Fitness came up with a brilliant idea for singles on V-Day: Participants bring in a picture of their ex to tape on a focus mitt and pair up with another bitter boxer, because it’s time to get even with your former flame, burn calories, tone arms, and perfect your right hook . You will either score a black eye or some cute gym rat’s phone numbers. Live on the edge!
Drink! No need to drown your sorrows but perhaps try a new wine or specialty drink. Shake things up! Maybe grab some friends and attend a wine tasting. Vino Libro is a great place to do just that. Tomorrow night, they invite singles, couples, and fans of great music out - Gritz and Jelly Butta will be performing!
Love! Take some time to do something you love to do but for whatever reason, can’t do as much as you would like. Are you neglecting your photography hobby? Dust off the camera and capture the beauty of Atlanta. Do you love fashion? There is a Diesel Underwear Valentine’s Day Fashion Show (you’re welcome) at Primal tomorrow. (Details below).
Our resident Guy Decoder, Mr. M asks: What do you do for Valentine’s Day if you have 2 prospects? Who gets your time, flowers, candy, dinner, attention since its on a Saturday - that’s prime date night. Do you just take somebody to brunch and let them go to make room for your later plans? So, what say you, multi-daters, is the weekend going to be tricky for you?
Whatever you do, have fun doing it. No pity parties whatsoever! What do you have planned for the weekend?
For more information on the events, continue reading:
Ex-factor boxing class: Everlast and Crunch Hold Anti-Valentine’s Day Boxing Class for Atlanta’s Broken Hearts and Scorned Lovers. Pink boxing gloves and mitts provided by Everlast and all participants receive a complimentary Valentine’s Day goodie bag. Free and open to the public in addition to gym members, friends, and anyone looking for a good workout. Crunch - Buckhead at 10:00 am 3365 Piedmont Rd, Atlanta, GA 30305
Vino Libro Event: Valentines Day for Couples & Singles featuring Live Performance by Gritz & Jelly Butter - Romantic Couples 3 Course Wine Dinner in our private events room - $59 all inclusive. Vino Libro is located at: 933 Garrett Street SE Atlanta, Georgia 3031
Diesel Underwear Valentine’s Day Fashion Show: Saturday, February 14th @ PRIMAL Featuring NYC’s Dj Chachi! House, Electro, Hip-Hop, Rock Anthems, EDM & Mash-ups. 21 & Up to Enter! • Guestlist Good Until 11:30pm!

Morning All and Happy Friday!
Great ideas Wise Diva. I won’t be doing anything special this weekend. Just taking time to unpack etc from my past trip and getting ready to go out of town again. Oh and I’ll be watching the all-star events Saturday evening.
I would like to get a pair of those pink boxing gloves though.

Morning Looks like it’s all set to be a beautiful day. I’ll definitely be out and about at lunch.
On-topic Boxing sounds like a good idea. I need pics of the ex’s or anything, but I wouldn’t mind hooking up with a nice girl who knows how to land a punch.
I don’t celebrate v-day, so any prospects already know that spending time with me tomorrow isn’t any more/less special than spending time with me on Tuesday or any other random day. So, I won’t have to worry about how a prospect perceives going to brunch vs going to dinner, etc. We’ll just enjoy our outing like we always do, knowing that it has nothing to do with valentine’s day.

I’ll piggyback with Dreams I don’t celebrate V day either never did, even when I was married, guess it’s the way I was brought up. As for punching a photo of an ex I’m all game for that!

Good Morning Tazzee.
As for our plans for tomorrow, a little bit of something and a lot of nothing. We did talk before leaving the house this morning about maybe getting up going somewhere for breakfast. Or more like brunch. He offered to cook breakfast if that’s what I want. Right now it really doesn’t matter. I will probably suggest later going to see a movie on the big screen.
I just hate I will not be attending my friend’s wedding. Because that was what we had initially planned to do, since I can’t we will just something here together.

…Morning loves…
Centennial Park is beautiful anytime of the day!…There are “love birds” hanging out on the lawn, benches, and hugged up, down there before the night gets crunk.
PG I was sent downtown to Radio One on Marietta St. and was given a package. The package included a Alvin Alley postcard with a picture of Art Director Judith Jameson…very nice. I need an odd size frame to put it in. i enjoyed getting the A.A picture more than anything.
Tazzee It will be 24 hours of basketball in my spot (starting this evening). I got the boy a t-shirt for V-day and a cookie cake from our Cafe’ here at work. He has an 11:00 game tomorrow, and after that back to viewing the All-Star events.
GO HOWARD!!

Who gets your time - they both get time.. If you are playing the game fair then they both should know there is someone else that you are seeing…now one gets breakfast/brunch and a day time event..the other gets dinner and a night time event…no one gets flower or candies..period

Those are some excellent suggestions for anyone who is looking for a weekend activity…nontraditional and out of the box.
I will probably do my ususal…go hang out at Applebee’s…lol…I prefer locally owned places, but this one has a good list of regulars and an overall good mix of customer floating through…a few weeks ago, I had a blast with some younger brothers and sisters I encountered up there…a great conversational group of strangers with few degrees of separation…one dude that comes up there is actually from the ATL…so we all just was like cool colored kicking it…never did that much in the ATL…always tried to avoid establishments with too many of my folks…lol…but I have found quite a more down to earth mix here…and quite few more sisters who, like me, do not mind going out by themselves nor are they looking for a man/husband when they do…and the brothers are more sociable and less predatory…lol…so that may just be my outing tomorrow night.

I got a chance to meet her about 17 years ago…I was kickingit with this Emory prof and he had invited her to speak for a Black History month event…not bad for a Jew boy…lol…she is just DIVINE…such a lovely woman.
@Dreams Thanks for the idea about the cedar wood…I have a couple who are friends of mine and we like to get together and cook…so I will have to tell them about the cedar wood and give it a try.

M’Karyl Hey you’re welcome. Let me know how you like it. BTW, it doesn’t HAVE to be cedar wood. If you like the flavor from a different kind of wood, then go for what you know.
Drunk Man I like going to those wine tastings, partly because of all the drank available, but also because I like to people watch and laugh at alot of the people who act like connoisseurs but really don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. It’s even more fun when you’re with someone and the alcohol starts to get to you.

wow great suggestions for those who need to escape the fact that they arent in a relationship. if you arent in relationship and want to be, what is it about you that is preventing that from happening? and what are you going to do about it ?? how about spending v-day reflecting on that?? ppl cant get to that third level of ‘know thy self’ cause the second level is too scary. thats something to be pitied.
plus, v-day is an out for men wit agendas like rells… they only have to come through on one day out the year and they women choose to believe they are ‘loved’for the rest of the time. and even more pitiable situation.

Been there…seen that…wine is a very broad-based subject…and there are so many levels that a person can have to appreciate it from a simple palate understanding to a complex one…many layers on interest…but it is a hoot to listen to ppl who believe themselves to be connoisseurs add their flatulated .02…lol…I am knowledgable about basics…but definitely not a connoisseurs…big difference.

Mornting and Happy Friday I don’t have any plans for V-day but one of my girlfriends and I are going to have a few drinks at Applebee’s(Cascade) and mingle for a little while. Last time we did that we met some really cool people and had a great time. We’re going to leave from there and find a nice spot to shake our tail feathers at. Even though this day is geared towards couples,we make our own fun and just the same.

Similac a strong owner with no leash is better than a weak owner with a strong leash. We have a chick in our club that owns a 110 lb dog and she’s about 135. She can make that dog do anything to include run up to you and NOT bite you, then call him back. Its not the dog but the owner thats most important.

My single friends and I celebrate S.A.D. (Singles Awareness Day). We all gather at one’s home, and have dinner and cocktails. We do have a Valentine’s motif, with decorations, etc.
Last year we had heart-shapped pasta with sauce, pink champagne, and heart-shapped cookies.
We have a blast. No pettiness, anger, bashing the exes, crying about being single, etc. Just some friends getting together for fun.

Morning Blog and Happy V-Day in advance!
One of my employees is in the hospital, since last night, to give birth to her baby boy! They are expecting him to be 9 pounds. She has a 18 month daughter and 10 & 12 year old step-daughters. Welcome to the world Trey!!!
SO and I are going to go to dinner and a movie to avoid the rush tomorrow. His mom is keeping the kids. We were supposed to test for our orange belts tomorrow, but we are not ready so we’ll do it next month. His basement is finished so we’ll probably spend the rest of the weekend moving all the stuff back in it from the garage. So exciting, I know.

swiss, for black folks it’s usually your ghetto, loudmouth cousins. You know the ones that ruin the family functions with their mess.
For white folks, it usually your redneck, hillybilly type cousins. Same behavior at family functions.
We all got em somewhere down the line. lol
We use the term “cousins” for whenever something nice gets taken over by folks who are up to no good and don’t know how to act in public!

He just needs to chill in my opinion and don’t put himself or the fiance’ thru the misery!
I was really not impressed with any of them, male or female!

@kimmie *just sounds like he had a personal issue with his girl, not with women in general. * I agree. They said so much but it was all about nothing.
@mello Well I respect the women for admitting they are just plain stupid because the truth is that there are plenty of them out there. Problem is they see no wrong in this behavior yet they wonder why they get “treated horrible” as the one young lady, stated.

as general rule if I ask a chick out and my offer doesnt trump any others she may have then we’re dead in the water. The key to dating happiness is only deal with those that see value in your product.
Truth, you’re right. We are dead in the water. If you aren’t thinking of me until 12 hours before you want to see me, you don’t see value in my product anyway.
Happiness in dating for me works with people who value my person, as well as my time.
If I’m free, you get my time, if I’m not, I’m not going to jump thru hoops just because you thought of me in conjunction with your morning wood.

mytwocents yes I have a “princess diva” as she likes to call herself. No coincidence that she calls herself that since that’s how I treat her everyday of the year. She’ll receive the affection and royal treatment that she receives from me everyday. of course we’ll do something special this weekend, like we do every weekend. man I always look forward to that smile and a big hug. No matter what bullsh_t I went through that day, that always makes me feel like it wasn’t that bad.
M’Karyl yeah I’ve seen that happen before too. pure comedy.
Shelby Shea Every year at this time radio ads, commercials, and peers make women feel that they are entitled to special treatment on this day, and men feel like they have to do something special to be deemed worthwhile. Ared People who are into each other don’t realize it at 6pm on a Friday, it’s a constant and evolving process. Shyt, maybe thats why relationships die on the courthouse steps. LMAO
My neighbor behind me has one of those wack azz sloping backyards so they have a company come in and build a concrete wall to level out the yard. Nice looking wall. They spend a week buidling it and when they start loading the dirt in the wall collapses. This is some funny shyt. 30 minutes later they had all left. They’re back now but I cant wait to see if this wall holds up.
A little education for the masses:
Personal hygiene left much room for improvement. As a result, many women and men had developed acne scars by adulthood. The women would spread bee’s wax over their facial skin to smooth out their complexions. When they were speaking to each other, if a woman began to stare at another woman’s face she was told, ‘mind your own bee’s wax.’ Should the woman smile, the wax would crack, hence the term ‘crack a smile’. In addition, when they sat too close to the fire, the wax would melt … Therefore, the expression ‘losing face.’

It’s still all on Valentine’s Day. I never say buy. Yes all holidays including your birthday are marketed, commercialized and expected.
@RELL Would you be up to making candy or drawing or making flowers? Again this is if you know this is what she likes! What makes her smile? At the end of the day in question isn’t it the smile on his/her face the mission for all of your efforts of that day? Rell I am confused. When did acts of appreciation or attention become simpish?
So again I ask. Why try to control the day and put off what she likes vs. what you think will make her stoke your ego a little better?

Yes indeed…it can be purely comically entertainment…I have someone I was acquainted with here…she drinks Henessey…she ask me if I wanted a shot one day…to which I responded “sure, a shot of brandy might help take the chill out of the day”…well she went on to inform me that Henessey was not brandy, that it was Cognac…and I said well Cognac is brandy for Cognac, France just as Armagnac is brandy from Armagnca (sp?), France…well she went on to call me an ignorant hef because she said that I did not know the difference between brandy and cognac, and that she did because she has had both and they do not taste the same…of course, all I could say was “awrighty now…drink on”…lol

I do know my Son’s grandfather thinks Eharmony is the best thing going.
Shelby - older people are gonna think this because eharmony matches you up based solely on compatibility. You get no say so in physical appearance.
I was curious about eharmony, so I filled out the free form just to see what it says. I got 8 or 9 matches, no photos. Each guy was 5’7” or shorter. I’m 5’11” and that wasn’t gonna work for me. I’m gonna need to see what you look like and be taller than a leprechaun. lol. I think if I had paid, I could have seen their pics.
But eharmony says the physical doesn’t speak to true compatablilty so they don’t factor it in. And they select ALL your matches for you. At least with match, you can select the people who catch your eye, for whatever reason.

efforts for that day…again you sound like you plan more for the wedding than the marriage…you should strive to please your partner daily…before a day on the calendar..so do my efforts count less on 2/15 or 2/16….you sound like an attention w******* that feel entitled to some flowers and candy because you let some dude long you from the back…sorry honey if you were with a real dude he would be looking past 2/14…feel me…prolly not..but just my thought in the city -plug
ummm its simpish because half these dudes are with women they dont want..they only with them because they get sex easy…they dont have to work for it….so they give the lil bs tokens of love to these woment to keep them around….please tell me why we even celebrate this vday?

First, I and my 7 yrs old son transferred here with my job on last year, Got laid off 3 months later, was out of work for a year, My rent was never late, My car was able to stay in its parking space (no repo), I never received a shut off notice for not one bill, including the luxury cable and internet, me and my son ate without foodstamps (not to say they are bad) but we ate, cuz I still have hips and legs to prove it.) I even was able to help my sister with her bills) I had no more savings, but God opened doors, touched people hearts, and even wiped some of my bills with payments I didnt make, and still dont know who made them) and not one bill collector called my phone! Then the same job who laid me off, called me back.. even though they are laying me off again.. God got me! He sustained me until my work picked back up. and he will do it again.
So with that, I know the hand of God because I Seek his face daily. Success is not defined by how much you have.. it is defined by how very little you need.
I serve A God who’s promises and word does not return unto me void. never has, and never will.
And Dreams I live in Austell… He had all good days, teacher didnt have to speak to him and he participates well..

I have a question for you. I know that the phyical is what attracts us to others most of the time. But if you some how gotten to know a guy and he was what you would call “perfect” in all areas except height. Do you pass him up because his physical attributes don’t…. Measure up lol ?

you should strive to please your partner daily…before a day on the calendar..so do my efforts count less on 2/15 or 2/16
That was the point that I was trying to make to Angie the other day. Valentine’s Day is just another commericalized occasion for Hallmark (and merchants of goods & services) to fatten their pockets.

I sometimes belong to both. They each have pluses and minuses. eHarmony - more expensive, seems to have more educated group, it takes some effort to go thru the profile (the so-called matching criteria), the process tends to go really slow because you have procedures in their “guided communications” that make you and your matches go back and forth for awhile before actually directly communicating (unless you opt for “fast track”). I have had good experiences with it (almost got married twice). I do get the perception that there are many more ladies than men. I get maybe 20 or so matches a week (I must be the dating equivalent of O+ blood or vanilla ice cream or something), while the ladies seem to only get 1 or 2 a week.
Match, the pluses are you can connect immediately, you can peruse thru all or screen for criteria (size, weight, height, age, etc.), more to choose from. You decide more of who you think you want, i.e. looks, etc, and less upon some real or imaginary matching criteria. A little less emphasis on spiritual beliefs maybe (plus or minus I suppose). Minuses, you seem to see a lot of the same people, week after week, month after month, and even year after year. It seems that once they compile a list of who they think you are compatible with, the list does not change or very little regardless of how long you are a member.
Both work well for my temperament. I’m not much of a lounge lizard so I really do not enjoy the bar scene pickup, or the gym scene (built more for comfort than speed). I do however write well, and equally important “read” well, so they naturally fit my style.
I think that the two compliment each other, but I think I like eHarmony the best.

Fee glad your keeping your head up about this. Things will work out.
More info:
As incredible as it sounds, men and women took baths only twice a year (May and October) Women kept their hair covered, while men shaved their heads (because of lice and bugs) and wore wigs. Wealthy men could afford good wigs made from wool. They couldn’t wash the wigs, so to clean them they would carve out a loaf of bread, put the wig in the shell, and bake it for 30 minutes. The heat would make the wig big and fluffy, hence the term ‘big wig.’ Today we often use the term ‘here comes the Big Wig’ because someone appears to be or is powerful and wealthy.

Personally we all have perferences and we like what we like BUT if his height is bothering you so much so that you would be willing tolet him go inspite of his “perfectnessness” then maybe you should look within ‘cause that’s where the issue lies…with you. It teeters that grey area between being superficial(from another’s view) or being true to yourself.
Would you really let something he had no control of be the cause of letting him go?…..I’m sure there are a plethora of reasons but height….hmmmm.

Shelby, no I don’t pass him up but it’s never happened to me. Short guys approach all the time but are usually insecure about their stature and therefore don’t get very far with me.
5’10” is the shortest I’ve dated, I wouldn’t rule a good man out, but the shorties have simply never stepped it up. Probably best for both of us.

After reading someof the comments about eHarmony. I find myself wondering if the men who join eHarmony often do not put in their pics. Most of the women do have pics, and if they do not, I do not respond at all (as shallow as the next guy about a pretty face). I guess over the years I have had close to 1000 matches, maybe 900 with pictures (their addition not mine, they keep tabs), so I can wean out the (how can I be PC here), somewhat “appearance challenged” ones without ever getting entangled.

Funny story. I was working on a power plant project out of town and coming in on the weekends. My best friend Craig is 6’6” tall, so he naturally likes taller women also. I had an account with Match, so he asked me to do a search for taller single women in ATL. So I set the criteria, height (5’10” or above), age, body type, etc. One of the “hits” was DanainATL (her screen name). She was a 6’ blonde with a really nice Glamour shots pic or two. Like most men, I immediately looked at the pictures first. Finally I started reading the profile. It started out this way, “READ MY NARRATIVE FIRST BEFORE EMAILING ME…I AM A TRANSEXUAL” He/she/it, had a great sense of humor, and seemed to at least as pretty as 70% of the ladies I had dated, and 100% of the ladies in Jackson County AL. Craig nor I had any desire to jump the fence, but the guy/gal/whatever did have great pictures. Weird!!!! It was funny showing the profile and pics around. Those construction types would look at the pictures and drool, then start reading the profile out loud and would read right through the “trans” part before the “light would come on”. One guy said, “I thought she looked like she had an Adams Apple”.

RandyT the date was quite hilarious to me. We met at a sports bar to watch the NFC/AFC Division Championship games that year. I was there first talking to a friend on the phone - she was concerned with me meeting this dude alone. So when he sauntered in I told her “he’s here, let me call you back - I think he’s gay” But when he threw his hand up, pushed my shoulder and said ‘Gurl! Let me tell you…’ it was confirmed, LOL.
It was fun though.

Staceye - I think they will get back together EVENTUALLY! See this thing with Naomi & Archer is definitely not going to last cause he’s a player. He’ll realize he was almost at death’s door and decide to REALLY live it up. Naomi is okay with having a little fun, but she’s not going to be down with that for long. They almost never show the chick Sam is messing with, so that’s a sign it’s not going to be long term. They are going to make their way back to each other.
I love Addison, Sam & Naomi, that tough blond lady doctor and from Grey’s - Chief, Bailey, Sloan, Derek, Yang & sometimes Meredith. I could care less about the others like Izzie & George. The Callie lesbo storyline made me sick to my stomach.

Only 1 chic who was too clingy, too fast & 1 chic who, umm, fudged a bit on her body type. But for the most part, I had good experiences. And then I hit the jackpot. :-)

Im getting the stuff myself Raqi.I have already kinda given the plot away,i hope not completely.I signed the secret pact with my daughter last nite and queen heard us talking about pancake mix and asked if i was saying so coz i wanted pancakes this weekend.I said yes. But because shes not prego,im gonna make her mad first, i can risk that!I will be home late, really late, unusually. If she calls me,we talk but i will tell her im going out.I am gonna pass by publix and get all my supplies. Then get home in the wee hrs. Then wake up my dghter to do the Vee cook.Shes gonna be mad that i didnt make the plans official with her first. If she rolls into the kitchen with a frown in the early morn,i know she will change that in a minute when she sees me in her kitchen apron. If she sleeps in then all well, after I roll in the bedroom with the breakfast, all catered, she makes up with me!!

Fuddrucker’s is a heart attack on a bun…I have never eaten there because seeing one commercial did it for me…and I worked the Chef’s Grille where they sold 1/2 lb burgers, so I imagined what it was like…way too much burger to eat at once…but I had an acquaintance that could put down about 2 or 3 of them without a problem…he was probably one of those 200 plus pounders that you saw.

Why did you get a 1/2lb burger and not a 1/4lb or 1/3 lb? 1/2 is 8 ounces of uncooked beef. 1/4 is only 4 ounces of uncooked beef. Don’t blame Fuddruckers, you chose poorly! You should have gotten a smaller burger. They have other options than 1/2 a cow.
I don’t eat there often because I don’t eat many burgers period.

@melo — Victorian, yes. And I’ll allow the comparison to Dickens — he’s a bit soap-opera-ish, though not geared as much to chicks as Bronte. But there’s no comparison at all to Chaucer. Not only totally different era, but Chaucer is as raunchy (a good thing in my estimation), controversial (for his time) and politically incorrect as they come. Nothing even remotely chick-ly about Chaucer.
Then again, I’m not sure how well reciting Chaucer would go over for a romantic, V-day gesture — particularly if you do it in the original Middle English. Maybe I’ll try that w/ swiss miss & see how it works. ;-)

@melo — Try this out on the queen:
Whan that Aprill, with his shoures soote
The droghte of March hath perced to the roote
And bathed every veyne in swich licour,
Of which vertu engendred is the flour;
Whan Zephirus eek with his sweete breeth
Inspired hath in every holt and heeth
The tendre croppes, and the yonge sonne
Hath in the Ram his halfe cours yronne,
And smale foweles maken melodye,
That slepen al the nyght with open eye
(So priketh hem Nature in hir corages);
Thanne longen folk to goon on pilgrimages
And palmeres for to seken straunge strondes
To ferne halwes, kowthe in sondry londes;
And specially from every shires ende
Of Engelond, to Caunterbury they wende,
The hooly blisful martir for to seke
I had to recite that shyte to my prof in the Middle English for my Chaucer class as an undergrad. Spent the weekend prior in a casino in Biloxi, practicing out loud & drinking while waiting on my then GF’s mom to drag her arse away from the slot machines. Got some strange looks, to say the least. LOL
(It’s the first 18 lines of the General Prologue of the Canterbury Tales, BTW).

Have you ladies tried Flip, yet.? It is pretty good. The milkshakes are very good too. They are frozen with liquid nitrogen so they have a little smoke like trail that follows them.
Flip (Burger Boutique) is on Howell Mill. My wife say that the chef was a guy that was on Top Chef.

Tazzee Good you didn’t cry i gotta enough tears over here to share from your leaving Houston.
My co-worker been here 4 years to my 6 and we built a great rapport. Started off shaky, but we got it right. I didn’t think i would cry cuase i was the one not talking about it at lunch. But she came over and gave me a big hug and told me i was the coolest black-women she ever want to work with…lol..only she could say that. See what i’m sayin? I started tearing up when she said make sure to call her so she can learn how to make dressing and not stuffing for her family. inside joke
Her husband insisted that she stayed at home with the 8 and 1 year old…becuase it was too much on her. <—- look at that.

PG, Flip is on my list. Creative Loafing gave em a good review and my very picky homegirl went there and loved it.
Howell Mill is my old neighborhood and close to my pole classes, so I’ll be visiting soon. The Top Chef guy also makes these liquid nitrogen margaritas at another restaurant he’s affiliated with in town.

PoppaG I checked hulu - they only have the last 4 episodes like abc.com. I have a lot of stuff to catch up on. Hopefully fancast is legal too because I’m not trying to get in trouble.
Speaking of trouble, I got bit by a red light camera in Cobb county two weeks ago. Usually I know when I’ve ran a red light (don’t do that often) but this one caught me by surprise.

@PG…but others can reply:
Question: if someone walked into a room and said to you “I am going to make a pronouncement on such and such a subject…would you infer from the meaning of the word that meant he was making a authoritative statement of judgement or opinion about the subject…sans any experential or intellectual knowledge about the subject matter…just looking for a well reasoned and well rounded POV.

AJC gave it good reviews as well. I liked it too. I’m not the biggest burger fan. I haven’t had a BK or McDonald burger in about 2 years. Steak N Shake is the bruger that I get most often. Sometimes, I get a burger from Marlow’s Tavern or Gordon Biersch. ( I like the beer at GB) But that is rare.
Be prepared to wait. It has become the trendy spot to visit. It has gotten to a point that they use the parking lot to the auto repair shop that is across the street from it, and sometimes that lot is full, too. Sometimes they have to have a cop to stop traffic so people can cross the street safely. We went for lunch one day which wasn’t as bad as I’ve seen the evenings be.

It would depend on who made such a statement. If I knew that the subject was in their background, I would have an easier time seeing them as an expert.
Otherwise, I’ll need proof.
I was psych major and now a law student. Generally, I want to see empirical data or proof for most stuff. I’m just that cynical.

A pronouncement is an authoritative statement that is law or at least they think it should be law.

Very rough, very clumsy modern translation of the previous (can you tell this conference call is boring me out of my mind????):
When April, with his showers sweet
The drought of March has pierced to the root
And bathed every vein is such liquor,
Of which truly engendered is the flower;
When Zephyr, with his sweet breath
Inspired has in every holt and heath
The tender crops, and the young sun
Has in the Ram (Aries) his half course run,
And small fowls make melody,
That sleep at night with open eye
(So pierce them Nature in their spirit);
Then long folk to go on pilgrimages
And palmers for to seek strange shores
To far halls, known in sundry lands;
And especially from every shires end
Of England, to Canterbury they went,
The holy blissful martyr for to seek
That them has helped, when that they were sick.
Please make this call END!!!! I’m dying over here…. LOL

I guess that you win. I am not a big burger fan.
However, I did have an In and Out Burger last summer when we went to LA. It lived up to the hype. Ravens Tackle Big Willie (Anderson-own Fatburger off Sidney Marcus was interested in trying to franshise them, but they don’t want to franchise.

Oh yeah I promised to post the poem..it has been a busy day..
Anti-Valentine’s Day Poem.. Who said this Ok?
Who said your disrespect was ok? From my Queen to that Heifer all in one day…
Who said your cheating, your deceit, your lying would be ok? Love of my life to lying b*&&(d all in one day…
Who said this yelling and fighting was ok? Pillow talk to F)k off all in one day…
Who said walking away; leaving was going to be ok? Passion unknown to calling damn Tyrone all in one day…
Really can these feelings be ok? I loved you…you loved me we said until our dying day. Didn’t think death would be so soon. What in the hell happen? Where did we go wrong?
How do we start over, do we even want to? Hot and fast now it is just kiss my a*…can we make this mess ok?
Keep packing, get the hell out of the way…I don’t give a damn how you leave here…just leave OK?

PG, just said the winner of them all…In-N-Out burger! I had two on Monday. Yum!
Yeah, they won’t franchise em, keeping it a family owned and run company. Boooo…
I’ve never gotten into Five Guys. One of my co-workers ruined it for me when she said the burgers taste like In-N-Out. They don’t and my taste buds were devistated. The burger is good, but not compared to In-N-Out.

For those of you out there w/o anyone to spend V-D with, don’t frown. It’s just another day where commercials and gimmicks leave some single women feeling depressed. This day also challenges a person’s self-worth (for some strange reason). STOP IT. STOP IT!!!! WHY allow society to dictate what should make you happy. So what, you may be alone this weekend. Be thankful for what you have, and keep loving yourself. That’s all you have to do.
