It’s Been Real, It’s Been Fun…
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Happy Holidays everyone! I hope that you all had a fantastic week last week. I had a wonderful time with my family and friends, spending quality time and cherishing each moment. There is nothing better than being surrounded by the ones you love. It’s priceless.
I spent part of my leisure time thinking back on the past year. I have had some real misadventures and I’ve definitely had some fun misadventures! I can’t think of one single date that stands out as the best of the best. I can recall one goose bump-inducing moment:
I’m at home, watching a guy of interest on the security camera. He is patiently waiting to be buzzed in, holding a bouquet of flowers. Goose. Bumps. My secured building set up sort of ruined the moment of opening the door to see him standing there with the sweet surprise. (Sometimes modern technology completely ruins romance!) I stalled just a minute as to watch him longer. Hopefully the new year will bring more of these kind of moments.
What about you? What do you consider your favorite misadventure/adventure of 2008? It doesn’t have to be dating/relationship related. What happened this year that made you the happiest? The proudest? Any regrets? Did you learn something new about yourself?
Did you try something new and exciting in 2008?
Happy Monday!

Happy Holidays I hope everyone is enjoying this time. Have to say that my young padawan (Jedi in training) and lil princess have provided the happiest moments for me this past year. I’m looking forward to some major dating adventures in ‘09 though.

Happy Holidays everyone.
WiseDiva that security camera is a necessary evil. Sorry, the moment was somewhat dampened, but hey the moment was still there. Enjoy!
Personally, I learned that I’m stronger than I thought I was. More importantly, I learned to be thankful for everything I have and not worry about what I don’t have! Hahaha, as far as dating, I’ve learned that it will happen when it’s meant to happen and not to push the envelope.

WiseDiva, I too am now looking back on the past year and all I can say is I’m thankful to see another year. Truly. I don’t have any dating mishaps to report so I’m merely thankful that I have my health and am not on any medication.

Morning Dreams & Leggs!!
First let me say that this past month has worn me out, I havent gotten enough sleep since Nov 30th! WHEW!!
On topic: Happiest moments were with Lil Mo, learned that I am stronger than I realized, that prayer works and I will be glad to see this year go. Overall it was a rough one with a few bright spots here and there

Leggs My holidays are going well…can’t really complain. Sorry to hear about your cold. Good news is that being sick is the best time to pamper yourself. Hot baths, hot (insert drink of choice), watch some movies. Take advantage of it, just don’t give the cold to me. ;-)

Guess it’s my time to have computer hiccups!
Good morning Mo. Hang on to those bright spots and let those dark ones go. I agree, my brightest times are w/lil leggs and then my quiet time when she’s w/her father. I have a chance to reflect and appreciate all that I’ve accomplished sometimes w/o an oar to help steer the rough waters. Nonetheless, we will keep making it!!!

Good Morning.
This has been a good year for me…the good and the bad alike. I learned some things about myself and about some of the people in my life. I learned to let go in some areas and to grasp on firmer in others. Acceptance is my motto in life now. Some things you just can’t change. You have to accept them and make the best of it.

One of my goals for ‘09 is to get a better filing system going for my household, to frame a lot of my daughter’s pictures and unpack my house (took it of the market last year).

Well, I do hope that the holidays were enjoyable for all of those who spent time with family and such…and I hope the New Year proves to be good for everyone as well.
What has been the most challenging for me this year has been learning the new life questions that I have to answer…the ones that have previously been answered no longer suffice for the questions confronting my life…and at 48, that is sometimes daunting…doable, but still a bit overwhelming all the same.
I have been more forward in articulating boundaries and therfore eliminating unwanted or unnecessary engagements…in the process, I am creating clearings and cleaning house of older issues and such.

Good Morning All,
2008 seems like a fast year..I learn long ago not to make resolutions and don’t live on regret..anything I did in the past is just that in the past. Life moves forward..even when we don’t. I do have this thing I do (i guess I got it from Oprah) What I know now..
My top two what I know nows are:
You can’t create a bucket list for people.
You have to teach people how to treat you.
The best thing that happen to me this year was..
Reconnecting with my Mother’s side of the family. I had not seen them since my son was a toddler and it is great to have them in my life again..it was like finding a missing piece of myself. For that I am most grateful.
Happy New Year All!

Hope everyone had a very happy holiday with their families. 2008 has been much more painful than fun, although there have been some memorable moments. I’m glad to see the end of this year. I’m praying 2009 will be better and easier. Don’t think I can take too many years like this one! Definitely had some memorable dating mishaps though! Going to try to be more open and less jaded this year!

Morning Blog and Happy Holidays!
I had a fantastic Christmas, spent with my SO & his family in sunny Orlando in his time-share! It is truly the happiest place on earth, though you can tell they have been hit major by the economy because SO said it was not nearly as crowded as usual for that time of year. We did not have to wait long for any of the rides at Universal/Islands of Adventure either. Truly priceless moments - 1. Seeing my SO’s daughter being the perfect new mother to her Baby Alive 2. Hearing his son scream “Spiderman, please save us!” on the Spiderman ride and 3. Seeing my beautiful stocking hung for me with all the others when SO picked me up from the Orlando airport.
2008 has been truly great for me due to my SO welcoming me into his & his childrens life. I have also strengthened some friendships and made up with another friend. Work has gone really great and I am thankful my company’s cutbacks have not affected my division and that my division is a growing area.
I don’t really make resolutions, but there are some things I would like to accomplish in 2009. I plan to work harder on building my side business and, since it is my real passion, putting it in a position to become my main source of income. I am going to improve my diet. I already ate kind of healthy, but I am going to set the bar higher to attain optimal health for life. I am going to organize my home office and donate/give away things I am not using in my home to simplify my life. I am going to become more technologically savvy by taking advantage of the opportunity to do so at my company and through my SO, who is a techie. I am going to keep better contact with friends and family members. I am going to go green more than ever, travel more and give more quality time to my church.
All of those things I have already started working on, so they won’t be too hard to accomplish.

I like this—->You have to teach people how to treat you. Some will take heed and want to be around you, and others will simply say “bunk this” and keep stepping. Either way, you’ve shown them your worth and if they don’t believe in your worth as you do, then nothing lost, nothing gained!
Kym, glad you were able to connect w/your mother’s side of the family. Girl, I feel you on that missing piece of yourself. I found a missing piece to my puzzle when I attended my father’s funeral.

Good morning to all & I hope that everyone had a great holiday.
Leggs: I feel your pain on being sick Christmas. I had the flu. So, I basically spent it alone. My wife and inlaws were out most of the day. I hadn’t had the flu in years. So, I was ticked to say the least.
Kinda like Kym, I don’t really set any resolutions. My friends and I only set the yearly goal of staying out of jail, it may seem silly, but it helps us keep some situations in perspective.
Leggs
As far as filing, we use a binder system at home for our bills. We have 12 (1 for each month) three-ring binders (the largest that they sell) and dividers for utilities, credit cards, etc. We print all bill (for the electronic billing) and print all canceled checks (since most banks make them available online now)or payment confirmations. We match the bills with the payments and three hole punch them and put them in the binder that would correspond with their month.

Hello Everyone
I trust that everyone had a wonderful holiday.
‘08 has been a trying year for me… I am grateful for being reselient and being able to maintain my sanity through the crazy times. Throught it all, I learned that I am stronger than I thought and I learned to appreciate and embrace being “me”, all that I am, all that I’m not and be OK with it all.
I am looking forward to ‘09 with optimism and expectation.

This is getting crazy on the computer burping.
Sounds like a great setup PoppaG. However, I’m thankful I didn’t get the flu, but being sick wasn’t any fun. It was somewhat hard to pry my child from her new phone just to get me some juice. This is her 2nd shopping spree for Christmas and must admit she did much, much better this year with less $100 less than last year.
I feel better coming into work this morning than staying home where I should be. Just getting dressed and putting on some clothes helps in the healing process.

Kimmie yes I did get my old fashion Christmas. We had a total of 11 people at our house for Christmas. They all stayed there for 4 days from Wednesday to Sunday morning. It was nice having people camped out on the den floor watching movies and just sharing memories and life happenings. I had plenty of help. It was nice.

Morning Folks!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
2008 was a year of highs and lows for me. It’s funny because as I sit here on December 29, it’s almost like 2008 didn’t happen.
The best part of the year was moving back to ATL. These past few months have been stressful, but the move was definitely worth it. For me, 2009 will be a ‘do over’ year, LOL.
I’m not one for resolutions - perse, but I do set goals with deadlines. Right now I’m up to #36 on my 40 before 40 list. My goal is to get that list completed before the new year, giving me about 17 months to complete the list.
New Year’s Eve will be church then game night at a friend’s house.

Hey Guys
A friend on ours is suggesting a “progressive” dinner for New Year’s Eve. Have any of you heard of this?

Just wondering if anyone has done this before?

Good for you getting that old fashioned Christmas. We had 8 people with us last week. So there was plenty of help around.

Orlando at Christmas can be pretty cool. Yes, Orlando’s tourism industry has been hit pretty hard. I’ve seen some amazing offers by Disney themselves for their themeparks. Recently, my dad made the remark that the only plans to go back to Orlando when he takes his grandchildren to Disney World…(1) he has grandchildren (2) we have no children neither now nor pending.

Leggs it was very nice. And feeding that many people at one time is some real work. There were so many different kinds of cakes and cookies being passed around and consumed but they still managed to find room when it was time to eat.
Poppa if and when you finally take the plunge and venture into fatherhood if your actions and reactions are any close to my husband’s I need to warn you wife now.
I loves my husband Lord knows I do but I’m gonna kill him if don’t stop touching my belly and insisting on giving him-or-her a daily good night peck. And then he manages to sleep the entire night with his arm across me. Don’t get me wrong I like to cuddle but can a sister go to the bathroom in the middle of the night without a five alarm alert asking if every thing is okay.
I have to remember this is my third and his first.

Yes, passports are a necessity now. The border restrictions will make it tougher to get back in the US without a passport.
I actually love having a passport. It seems to get me through airport and cruise ship security quicker than anything else.
BTW, thanks regarding me being sick for Christmas. You are right that thing was like a ninja. That bug did a sneak attack on me and got me good. I haven’t had the flu since the mid 1990s while finishing college. I was probably due anyway.

Now, I doubt that I will do any of that. Being the cost conscientious type that I am, I probably won’t sleep due to thought of having more mouths to feed.
One of my best friend’s became a father of fraternal twins on Friday. He spent the whole pregnancy period pacing.
Also, having had some experience with a baby under the roof, I know the work involved.I would still probably be somewhat excited, but still probably be a pacer like him. Lawyers and law students just worry a lot about possibilities. It is part of the make-up of an attorney.
The friend works for a big bank here in town, and it hasn’t been a good year for them.

Leggs Yeah he is cute.
He is so freakin’ cautious. I appreciate it but it’s not that serious and I can’t get him to realize that. The biggest risk for this child right now is in what I eat. Before we had our consultation with the doctor I forewarned to the doctor to tell him that we can pretty much do every thing that we did before. I can work around the house and go out with my friends just the same. Aside of from our play fighting, him throwing my over his shoulder or lap giving me a spanking and/or throwing me on the bed nothing changes right now. Those last few uncomfortable months are when it’s going to all change.
I was reviewing my vacation time and days off for 2009. I am going to try to take the month before my due date off. And I still get 12 weeks m/l following that.
I think I am going ask Mase about us taking a week vacation around February or March. I want to do something before I get to that uncomfortable doing any and every thing stage.
The only mention he has made about finances so far is us having to postpone our early retirement plans and he asked if I want to become a stay at home mom with this one. That will take away from the money that we have coming in now. He had a towing business a few years ago that he let go and is talking about starting up again. So while financial concern is probably in the back of his mind he is just outwardly excited now to be having his own baby.

WTF??? I’m not going to list all 36 but my list includes things like going white water rafting, increase my net worth by $75k, wear false eyelashes and become a big sister/mentor. When I first started the list I was stumped because I was trying to think of major things to put on there. But then I just started listing a bunch of small stuff I want to do. Ooh, I just thought of another thing to put on there…
Stormy My old neighborhood used to have progressive Christmas parties. Never heard of a dinner like that. I hope you have fun.

We’ve done New Years Bar-b-q’s before. If the weather permits, it is quite fun.
I think that we will have the dollars and change dinner, but it will be different. My wife’s great grandparents are from Jamaica. So, there will be a Caribbean flavor to it the New Years dinner. I know for sure that there will be some rice and peas, curry goat, and jerk chicken. There will be a peach cobbler as well.

Tazzee “wear false eyelashes”??? Really?
I watched the Bucket List movie a few weeks ago with my sister girls and we were talking about some of the things that we have done that are once in a lifetime experiences and some other things that we would like to accomplish or experience.
But wear false eyelashes…that’s pretty unique for a “to do before…” item.

Raqi, unfortunately, it’s going to hard to convince Mase that you can do the same things. As you stated, this is your third and his first. He is going to watch the growth of your stomach up close. He will be in amazement from here on out. He will marvel that you can carry all that around and never complain (ROFL at that one). BOO!!!! That work?* LMAO
Tazz nice list. I’ve already white water rafted, been a big brother, and plan on increasing my wealth by about the same amount in the 09. Either great minds think alike or your crazy as me. LOL
This year I acquired a whole new group of good solid friends, let go of some old ones and though things were tough it’s been one of the best years of my life. I’ve found inner peace and have learned that nothing is as important as that. Defend that at all costs.
One day I’ll share with you what I lost in 08 and what I found out about me. It’s a beautiful thing.
A dude with a plan can accomplish anything. LOL
Mo whats up woman? Hit me up at atlred01@yahoo.com.
My sister didnt cook because she had a bug and the invites were too far to go on xmas. One of my neighbors made me a bangin rum cake and another a german chocolate cake, red velvet and some type of cake with whipping cream (cant remember the name.
Anyway the sun is out and its a beautiful day.

Raqi LOL - that was the first item on my list after I stopped trying to put major things on there. The thing is, there’s not much I want to do that I haven’t done. I added the Pro Bowl to the list although I’d already booked the trip before I started the list. Going to the Pro Bowl is something I’ve wanted to do for some time now.
I also had to make sure they were things I could do in less than two years. For instance, I want to sing the National Anthem at a Falcons game. I’ve been saying since our first year as STH’s that I was going to send in a ‘tape’ but I never got around to it. Then when I moved to Houston I didn’t because I was traveling for the games. Well now I only have one season to make it happen before my 40th.
I also want to go to the Soul Beach Music Festival in Aruba - that’s usually around my birthday and since I’m doing a major overseas trip for the 40th, that only leaves 2009.
OK, let me stop because I’ll mess around and talk about all 37 items, LOL.

Hey Everyone,
New Year’s Eve is my bday, so I am looking forward to it. I don’t make resolutions, so I don’t have to worry about that. This month marks my full 1 year anniversary here in Atlanta. If this weather doesn’t brighten up, I might have to head back to Phoenix lol.
This is off topic, but does anyone know if I write off my closing costs for my house on my taxes this coming year? So far, what I have seen on the internet is both yes and no lol.

Page you write them off this year. Take your HUD-1 (settlement statement to the tax preparer so they can capture all write-offs) Also, take a look at increasing your exemptions so you get more money back each pay period vs waiting for a large refund at the end of the year. When I bought my first home I increased mine to single w/5 and I believe I got close to a hundred dollars extra every pay period, but I didn’t get a huge refund at the end of the year.

PoppaG Yeah for some reason I am not feeling very traditional about stuff these days. I decided a few years back that me and my son are a family and we have to make our own traditions. One thing I plan to do with the boy is teach him to cook. He can make a few things..but he is going to learn to make mac and cheese from scratch(he ate damn near a whole pan by himself) and spagetti(without having some of the noodles un-cooked) he loves pasta. Sorry but he can’t leave my house in 5 years and 8 months without know how to feed himself.

No, I didn’t. I had some inside information that Derrick Brooks had injured his ribs that week. Now, he has an injured quad.
The defense is really getting up there in age. The defense is what had been carrying that team. Gruden is as much as an offensive genius as Shanahan is. I have a dislike for both of those guys. Gruden used Dungy’s guys for his Superbowl. He hasn’t done jack with his own choices. So, I was happy to see “Chucky” disappointed. I like some of the guys on the team, but Gruden is an azz to the highest degree. I will not cheer for Tampa as long as he is the coach…period. I have many ties to Tampa, FL, and feel sorry for their fans.
Also, do feel sorry for Cadillac Williams, though. He worked hard rehabbing one knee and now the other knee is hurt.
Monte is headed to Tennessee, which I knew about since that Monday night game against Carolina. So, now would be time for a fresh start for that team.

Tazzee Believe it or not with all of those treats at the house I only had a couple of sugar cookies and one tiny ultra thin slice of plain cheesecake. I gained a whopping –4 pounds over the past holiday week. We had a small turkey and a whole ham. I wanted some of that turkey soooo bad but it was fried in peanut oil so I couldn’t touch it. We also had Brunswick stew but it was too spicy so I couldn’t have it either. We had the regular traditional side dishes but the smell of the collards made me sick, the dressing had some of the turkey cut up in it. We had pigs in a blanket appetizers which I ate too many of and they returned.
Roasted potatoes, green beans and jello was my Christmas dinner. But it was one of the best Christmas’ I have had.

I think he felt better that the Cowboys didn’t get in.
I was sick for most of the last week, but seeing Dallas get what was coming to them made my weekend.
What made Jerry Jones think that having Terrell Owens, Roy Williams (the receiver…they also have a safety with the same name), Adam Jones (his mom named him Adam not Pac-man), and a few other “look at me” players would result in something good with Wade Phillips as coach. Wade is too soft. Cowboys went from strict Parcells to lax Wade Phillips. Too much of an extreme.
Sorry to hear that Romo collapsed in the shower though. Sounds like he may have cracked ribs. Those can really hurt. He had to be helped up and down from the podium. I have new found respect for him. He sat and answered every question even while he was hurt. He has a rep for performing badly when the calendar hits December, though. That is when you earn the big bucks.

As a former player, I have a respect for Philly and their players (they run that organization pretty good now…they know when not to pay the big buck, but make a competitive team). However, I so dislike their fans. I’ve actually saw a game at the Vet. That was something serious. I was smart and didn’t wear any paraphernalia of my team. However, I saw what happened to those who did. They got some real live crazies in Philly and they all manage to get season tix…lol.
That game was the perfect storm for the Cowboys. Philly really had something for which to play. Cowboys continuing soap opera kept on churning, etc. Romo still has issue with dealing with the pressure.
As we used to say, “Pressure busts pipes if they can’t handle it”. He had a hard time handling it yesterday. Granted, he may have been hurt and old azz Brad Johnson was the only alternative. That part of the blame goes to Jerry Jones. He needs to get a decent backup. There are major rumors that Jerry Jones is waiting to Michael Vick to come back.

Lawdy, lawdy, lawdy. Thought the hiccups was fixed.
No KP, no one is walking across the screen. I saw the Great Debaters before it came out, Alvin and the Chipmunks and the Secret Life of Bees before they hit the theatre. Nope, clarity is 100% on the money. You guys must see Gran Torino. Clint Eastwood as his old irascible self. “Get off my lawn” much like “go head, make by day”.

I have sat and watched football with Mase. I have sat and listened to my sister girls that like the sport go on for hours talking about football. And I have yet to have a different outcome. I do not like nor get the game. I think it’s because the game is too slow. Too much stopping and standing around. I don’t mind sitting thru a game of basketball because there is always something going on. I can even endure baseball and it’s a little slow. But football…sigh, I just don’t get it.

To Now we’ll just make a stop at Zaxby’s or something to save on buying snacks.
You gonna kill the movie theater by doing that. The snacks is how the theater gets its money. Majority of the box office goes to the distributor. Why do you think movie tickets cost so much. Will Smith makes nearly 20 million a movie. There is no real amount of popcorn that can pay that bill.
The average box office split is 65/35. That means for every 10.00 ticket the movie theater only gets 3.50 and the movie folks get the 6.50.
If people weren’t nasty, filthy, rotten pigs, there would be no need for ushers and such to pick up stuff.
There is no way around the radioactive xenon light bulbs that project the film onto the screen. Each projector lightbulb is over $100.00.
Not to mention that the theater is like every other business that needs to pay utilities like GA power, gas bills, etc. That make the difference in concessions.
Atlanta is a major target of Hollywood because we have a huge bootleg market here. The FBI has had stings going on in the West End flea markets, and other places around town. So, if you get caught buying a bootleg you might get into some trouble. The economy is hitting Hollywood too.

Raqi I don’t know what to say to make you like football. I guess I don’t see it as slow, I’m yelling so much during the plays that I need the stopping to take a breather. Basketball doesn’t do it for me as much, but I watch when there’s nothing else on. Baseball? Now that’s a sport I can’t watch - no matter how hard I try, I can’t watch it. I go to the games for the fellowship.

The biggest thing I’ve learned dating wise this year.
Well, for one, it’s okay to give someone a second chance if they are sincere. We all need a 2nd chance from time to time.
But at the end of the day, all the love and adoration will not work in a relationship if each party has two differnt philosophies regarding the future. I think I already knew it, but definitely had to experience it to know for sure.

…I am still sleepy ya’ll…good morn, I mean good afternoon… smh (looking like a bobblehead) There was never a dull moment the entire month, but well worth it; besides having to take down this gigantic live tree, so tall it touches the ceiling (don’t know what I was thinking) and oh, being on punishment. But I’m not taking that thing down for another week or so! Hmphf!
Awww… Raqi, that’s beautiful. Something tells me your husband is going to want to have a portrait taken of him kissing your belly. …now teary eyed.
PoppaG Agreed on all that!
The defense is really getting up there in age. The defense is what had been carrying that team.
Heck, yeah! They totally wore out their defense. Heyal, Brooks and Barber already have superbowl rings anyway. Yeah, there butts will really be in something awful after Kiffin leaves. No choice now, but to make better use of their defense rookies, though there a little late being that the superbowl will finally be here of all places.
I will not cheer for Tampa as long as he is the coach…period….So, now would be time for a fresh start for that team.
Yep!…starting with Gruden, which brings me a little solace with my own little idea that maybe their defeat was somewhat skewed. That way, they’d really consider the idea of replacing Chuckie. …just a thought. Can’t blame me for dreamin’ lol
Last night, one of my uncles (Raiders fan) walked throughout the house teasing a few folks at my grandmother’s birthday dinner, who held onto what little faith they had left in the team, then left to go collect his money from several bets. While after last week’s home game, my other three (uncles)and a few of their potnahs went riding over to Raymond James and a few tailgate parties, just to yell out Go Chargers! The Bucs Suck! among other things, just stirring up more of a mess.
Funny how I don’t really care for the Bucs, but was still a little disappointed…like the feeling of not being able to stand a problem child(ren), but in the same shell, you try to embrace them. Maybe I’m in denial LOL
…And… Go Raiders! Ok, I can’t even get up for that anymore but they thumped those Bucks. Superbowl in 010 baby. Oh, just hursh, Truth! I’oun wanna hear/read all that! Hahahaa! Alright, lemme stop…

PG Yeah been with Philly a long time. Seems like everytime they try to come down on McNabb he steps his game up. Like the time Rush Limbaugh said he only gets props because he’s black…went to the superbowl that same year and McNabb had one of the highest QB ratings in the league. The fans are brutal though. Sometimes they’re the biggest critics of McNabb. lol Romo has track record of folding under pressure so I wasn’t surprised yesterday.

Football can be slow, so I can understand your sentiments. Especially, the way that the last minutes of each half get time-outs and 2 minute warnings. The end of each half can be very slow.
However, it seems that it just isn’t something that interests you. There is nothing wrong with that. Fashion doesn’t interest me so I probably wouldn’t be interest in the fashion designer show on Bravo.
I felt the same way about Hockey a few years ago. I didn’t like it at all. Then, I actually went to a Rangers/Thrashers hockey game and got appreciation for the sport. I still don’t understand all of the rules but I can follow it much better.
However, I seen grass grow faster than some baseball games progress. Baseball is under no time restriction and if the pitcher keeps stepping off the mound or the batter steps out of the batters box, it can drag on even longer.

I remember the wife being so upset with me while watch the Sixth Sense. Half way through, I whispered to her Bruce is a dead guy. I figured it out when Bruce Willis and the boys mom were just sitting there in the same room not saying anything. Something just clicked at that point with me. The boy was the only person to have a conversation with Bruce’s character.
Anyway, when the ending was revealed, she was upset with me. She thought that I had seen it before. So, I had to go back and explain what I saw that got me to my conclusion. After I gave her my feelings that Bruce was dead, I spent the rest of the movie finding things to prove my point and pointing them out to her.

I understand.
One of my good friends was a movie theater manager. So, I know that is the way that he fed his table. He even started there as an usher. I have known some managers to let some regulars customers in free (usually during the week) as long as they purchase something from the concessions.
My friend knew his Monday regulars. They were usually senior citizens that didn’t want to deal with the weekend crowds so they waited until Monday to see a new release. He would pick one of them let in free each week. He said that he wouldn’t lose anything by doing that. The film still has to run and all of that. Rewarding regular customers is something that some chains (he worked with Regal) believed in. They would send more business to him.
Also, I highly recommend the Entertainment book. It has coupons for AMC and Regal. They make up the cost of the book.
We used the Dave and Busters coupons a few weeks ago and got 100 extra credit on our power play card. (Dave and Busters uses cards instead of tokens, now.)

Although you already know the ropes, I believe you may be somewhat secretly excited about it as well (though you won’t admit it):-)After all, this can still be counted a first for you as well, simply because it’s his first with whom you’ll share these treasured moments with…especially if it’s a girl <—— now THAT’S what I’m gonna pray for. ;-)
Someone once stated,… in the ultimate analysis, we are all mere temporary custodians of the wealth we generate, whether it be financial, intellectual, or emotional. The best use of all your wealth is to share it with those less fortunate.
I believe that we have all at some time eaten the fruit from trees that we did not plant. In the fullness of time, when it is our turn to give, it behooves us in turn to plant gardens that we may never eat the fruit of, which will largely benefit generations to come.
A fixed mindset, creates a tendency to avoid challenges, to ignore useful negative feedback and leads such people to plateau early and not achieve their full potential. (Hence the saying of old dogs and new tricks, it’s no wonder there just for kids).
Indeed, the highest form of knowledge, it is said, is self-knowledge. I believe this greater awareness and knowledge of oneself is what ultimately helps develop a more grounded belief in oneself, courage, determination, and, above all, humility, all qualities which enable one to wear one’s success with dignity…
So as I’ve gone forward, I’ve learned overtime to accept and embrace all of life’s challenges as “blessings in disguise, no matter the burden.” <—- And that right there will be a constant reminder to me,be it a new year or simply a new day.
….and finally, good night ya’ll…

No doubt love can give you insight. It lets you know that you’re alive and willing to experience the peaks and valleys with another being. Love makes your heart soar and helps you to always wear a smile both in spirit as well as on your face. (Dedicated to Raqi)
Nonetheless, year end is no joke, keep those antennas up so you don’t get jacked (ROFL). Sleep tight tonight.
Good night!
