Sometimes men don’t know when to shut up. Honestly, they can be so close to sealing the deal but, for reasons unbeknownst to womankind, they torpedo any chance of getting laid. In an effort to help men get laid more (you’re welcome!), here are 5 ways not to get laid.
Bragging: Boasting about the size of your wallet, package, technique, or material possession is annoying. Most of the time, when a guy has to become his own street team, it’s because he is making stuff up. Your reputation should precede you. If you have to hype yourself, we probably won’t even believe you. You need more people.
Condescending tone or behavior. I don’t care if you can top a woman in a sport, scrabble game, or IQ test. If you try to make her feel as if you are far more superior, it’s a turn off. The female ego is bigger and more fragile than yours: handle with caution.
Making disgusting sounds, smells, or jokes. Listen, if a woman has decided that she wants you to serve up some O’s, she doesn’t want to see you acting like a frat boy. It’s not cute, sexy, or endearing when she is trying to have dirty thoughts about you. Knock it off.
Child’s play. Any mention of wanting to make a baby will automatically disqualify you from a rendezvous. When a woman has decided that “It’s just sex”, she definitely won’t like you trying to breed with her. Know your role, accept it, thanks.
Display psycho behavior. If you want a woman to feel comfortable with you, you may not want to disclose your proclivity for collecting blow up dolls. Keep dreaming, crazies - or hide the weirdness as much as possible.
Ladies, what can you add to this list? Have you ever met a guy that actually talked himself out of getting lucky? What did he say or do?

Rell lets come clean. For guys the booty doesn’t even mean that much anymore. Part growing up and part the high risk. 15-20 years ago any chick short of a known crackhead (and sometimes her too) was in fuego. Now most cats take a 2nd look at prime beef. MLL come on now, lets keep it real. Chicks get a fraction of play they used to. I know of ABSOLUTELY NO dudes on the hunt like they used to be. Now cats are just out rounding up scraps and claiming a kill. It’s like a dude says hi and women are on here claiming hot pursuit. Bolo. One surefire way not to get laid is giving low-grade backhanded compliments. Attempting to get a sexual favor by complimenting a woman’s kissing techniques will only get you left alone.
I had that happen once. The guy said I was such a good kisser that he bet I could give an awesome below job. Dumbarse.
I just laughed in his face and got in my car and went home.
Another way would be to insult a woman while trying to come off as sarcastic or cute.

Just Saying How long have you been blogging on this particular blog??? If you had done your damn home work you would know where the regulars who have been on here more than a year or so are coming from. I admit that we were rough on Blanca her first few weeks out, but she needed to know what she had to contend with. She’s been on this blog less than six months and already has had other people give blog topics on her behalf which shows tall tale signs of lack of due diligence and creativity. I can’t say that about Wise Diva. If you got someone in mind that you feel can bring a fresh perspective then go to the correct sources instead of coming on here thinking you’re going to get a lotta backup cause you’re going to find yourself standing out in the middle of 285 by yourself.

To my knowledge even the “hunters” have never devalued a “good woman”. But in all honesty, how do you get to that “good woman”.
Is it through her pain in dealing with lesser men? Is it by trying to continually reassure her of your intentions? Is it sticking around long enough for her to see that you are one of the good ones?
In this day and age, both sexes want to recognized for something other than the traditional roles (hunter/gather, homemaker, sexual partner), but very few have the courage of their convictions to really command that from someone else, let alone themselves.
So we play the games by the rules we’ve heard from others, try to muddle through the swamp to find the other side.
Never let us, either sex, start from a place where one is more (or less) validated by how we feel.

I guess being a moderator is like being a quarterback, sometimes you will make a bad read and throw a interception (or in your case write on a topic that people don’t like) and the majority of the time (hopefully) you will be able to pick a defense a part (again in your case write on a topic that people love.) So forget about the interception and ignore the crowd calling for your head and come back tomorrow and throw the winning TD.

I don’t wanna know what a woman “brings to the table” as long as she has the drive to achieve her goals, I’m assured that with a little luck, she’d get them.
Sticking around though is hard and you know it. Ladies do not make it easy. First you wanna know this, then you have to test that, on top of having to wait for, figure out, assess…it just gets tiring sometime.
Nothing worth having is going to be easy to get, I dig that. But in the male/female equation, I’m starting to feel like women are making it harder - just because.
Just to see if I’m gone make the effort (I’m not);
Just to prove to me that you’re worth the effort (why would I talk to you if you weren’t);
Just to prove to yourself that I’m worth it(see above parethized comments);
In the end, I just want to meet a real woman that knows herself and is confident enough to behave accordingly. At 30, I don’t play around with representatives, the fantasy, whatever….save that for the next lame.

ok, Dan so in essence, you are defining the extent of the effort said woman has put into herself according to what? Your determination of what that effort should look like manifested in her for self according to your standards which may or may not coincide with standards she has set for herself. Isn’t that placing the onus strictly on her for what is ultimately your decision as to whether to or not you want to make an effort depending on factors that strictly pertain to you?
If you deem a woman worthy of your effort, doesn’t that have everything to do with you and not her? She would already have herself together by the sheer fact that she attracted you, so the effort from you would be about you…your effort to get in her space, I would think, and not to make her over or continue her development.

Truth Exactly!!! If the problem is people haven’t been able to make their mortgage payments for various reasons, why in the hell would you bail out the folk who are standing on their necks to begin with?? I propose (and I could be wrong) that they pay off these folks houses with a clause of their property taxes would go up a certain percentage for a period of 10 years. The special tax would also be percentaged out to repay the government back on a yearly or monthly basis depending on the homeowner. That way, the homeowner can go about the business of genuinely stimulating the economy by buying into the market place through the use of goods and services to get themselves back on track.

Chink No. That’s the misconception. True a lot of did come from deceptive lending on the part of the mortgage companies because they were giving people ARMs to get them into higher priced properties. The biggest problems were the skyrocketing unemployment and salaries not keeping up with inflation and the price of gas. Some people started borrowing against their homes to stay afloat only to get the doors slammed in their faces or realizing their houses aren’t worth what they’re currently paying. If it’s not FHA insured, mortgage companies can just simply sit your a$$ out on the street w/o much recourse.

I agree that the gov’t is taking on a lot.
However, the real estate market (and energy costs) drive our economy. Some lenders will have to be saved. Bank of America can’t take on all debt. You’ve got to have other banks.
It stinks, but everyone is to blame for this mess. Not just politicians. The American citizen has sat on they arse and cared more about Simon Cowell, Paul Abdul, Randy Jackson than what their elected officials are doing. In effect allowing them to get away with all kinds of stuff.
How many people actually check on the bills that their politicians sponsor? Not many, therefore, the elected officials have no accountability until they mess up. No one can really make an argument that politicians are trustworthy enough to not check up on. They have shown time and time again to the contrary.
In the late 1920, President Herbert Hoover decided to not do something. His decision helped the fall into some worse than it had been. It was called the Great Depression.
We all share in this mess. We all share in fixing it. It is price that we pay for apathy. It has an expensive price tag.

The ARM loans, even traditional mortgages are not the problem.
The problem has been deregulation in an effort for the “free market” to rein free.
This deregulation allowed independent mortgage companies to generate loans (the NINJA) loans that were then sold to the likes of IndyMac. The loans were further sold to secondary market that further securitizes the loans piece by piece.
Ex: Foots your house is part of at least 10 securities called CMO (collateralized mortgage options) that were sold as an asset and your monthly payments are broken and paid (depending on the years) to a number of different people.
What is happening now is that these securities once thought to be liquid assets readily tradeable for cash are garbage. The SEC never look at them, S & P simply rated them without viewing them, and every bank has some on their books.
Now the government (the people that brought you the trickle down theory in practice the last eight years) now want to bail out the originators and the supposedly smart businessmen that created this mess. All the while the average American’s property is lost to foreclosure, bought by the banks (that would be liquid by now with our tax dollar), and then resold to more investors and future homeowners.

Poppa I agree, but some people can’t see past their own struggles. My local politicians weren’t going to return my phone calls right away if I called about how I can’t feed me and mine. They’re going to refer me to another govenrment agency that’s there to allegedly help me. I been to some of these agencies and the biatch behind the counter has an attitude problem with everyone coming in the door and she knows she’s not going to be held accountable. Her check is going to be paid with funds taken off the top of the pile while everyone else is getting the leftovers.

Yeah, the stock market is diving again today, that’ll make 500 points in the past 2 days. Same as last week, although they rallied on the Govt’s announcement of bailout plans. Now the plans come to light, people’s confidence is not assuaged.

Haters (i.e. those people that subsequently joined the daily discussion but didn’t/wouldn’t agree with the masses or the regs..but not really) and only labeled as such by the original/old bloggers…mostly. Hence, the less frequenting of the blog by those said folks cause newbies intruded and then stated that they’ve moved on because the more things change the more they remain the same. Why is the perception that it’s hard for women to make friends? I have several extremely good friends. Through many years of addition and attrition, we have ended up in a Sister Circle of Six. We don’t always agree, but then again, we’re such individuals, so how could we? But we love each other like sisters.
I think I heard somewhere (as advice to guys) that if you see a woman without any women friends, run… If her own kind doesn’t understand or like her, why would a man think he could?

@Dan Some very real truth in that statement…my experience has taught me that so many women will grow older perpetuating the same mentality of youth into adulthood…I did not deal with that until my early adulthood…it is not true of all women…some sistahs are true to the self and they do not have those problems…but it is rare and spare…like all things righteous…love your neighbor as you love yourself…imagine that.

Deregulation is only one branch of this huge tree. I agree that it is one of the problems. However, why is that UGA alum Phil Gram (that was for you, Foots) was able to push for it.
The seed of all this is greed.
Once again we all share a part in it.
Money makes this capialist society go around. In this system, you have to have something of value (aka capital)to get something else.
There are some form so incidental greed that our citizens particpated in. We, as employee,show greed in the sense that we want to be paid the highest wages possible with the best possible benefits. These things cost money to our employer. Then, we shop and want to spend the lowest price. Put those things together, and an business owner gets squeezed with high overhead and low revenue. So, then to reduce price business owner has find some way to lower said overhead. Where does he lower it. It is labor costs that take the hit. That’s when China, Taiwan, Mexico, India, etc gets our jobs.
USA is a major consumer company that doesn’t really product stuff anymore. Take a look a Detroit. While those american automotive unions were fighting for higher wages and benefits, The foreign companies were IMPROVING their product. As a result, foreign cars were seen a better product and sold better.
Look in your closet, how many things were made in America? More and more of our fruit comes from other countries. S. America is reaping the benefit of that.
The result of this greed is that business owners send the jobs overseas, and continue to get money. While we have a increasing joblessness. People, who don’t have jobs, have trouble paying mortgages. ARM or fixed. Consumer confidence falls because people begin to worry.
We are a customer service nation now. Whether it is high end customer service (Doctors and lawyers) or Ray Ray working at Foot Locker, it is customer service.
Your right deregulation has a place in this mess. But it further up the tree.

acb I agree with you. It is a combination of greed corporate antics and careless consumers. I know a few individuals with good intentions that made bad decisions on buying homes they really could not afford. So many corp giants benefited from the gains that came from creative buying, selling, and lending schemes.
I think it is really just an excuse from the govt to say there were no proper oversight…someone knew what was going on, but of course no one wants the blame…at this point what is left is to find a way to make things better.
I’ve decided to hire a financial advisor to help me map out a plan to seriously shave off some debt, and save an emergency fund. I’m already doing good in regards to my retire funds.

Dan If you want to hang with a male-female, that’s cool with me. But most men I deal with like the fact that their women ARE women: soft, feminine, infuriating, wonderful women. But some men don’t like softness and femininity and that’s their preference.
I can tell you that as a woman, having male friends is not a substitute for fulfilling varied female needs. Just as men need time and space to bond with each other, women need that too.
BTW, if I was dealing with a guy who didn’t have male friends, I’d run too. Somebody with his characteristics has to like his azz. And from what I’ve seen and from what y’all have said, men learn how to be men from men. If all he did was hang around a bunch of women, where is he getting his manhood development?

Abc only thing is the more you save the more you invest in an already overvalued stock and real estate market. Folks 401k’s are shrinking daily and so are their investments. The only safe place to put money now is in the euro and yen. Sounds unpatriotic but then again what has our country done for us lately. Also, gold was doing good last I checked. The old ways of acquiring wealth crashed with this latest fiasco.

I was a foreclosure paralegal about 10 years ago. One of our clients was a bank by the name of IndyMac. They were all for the subprime market. Some of that fine print on the promissory notes had outrageous rates. I remember my boss (an Atty) telling our rep that this subprime stuff wasn’t gonna be good. They fired us, and found another firm They didn’t want our opinion.
We could see people’s credit reports and see what they owed. Most were overextended. The bank should have given the loan, but the borrower should have some responsibility of looking out for self as well. Just because some one tells you that you can borrow money, it doesn’t mean that you should.
About 5 years ago, Lithonia addresses got so bad in the foreclosure world that the Feds had freeze in their Lithonia zip code for FHA foreclosures (it didn’t affect conventional loans).

It is absolutely amazing how much the majority doesn’t know about the type of money people need to accumulate to be able to retire at even 80% of their salary at the time of retirement. And forget about college planning for children, with the type of rates our investments get adjusted for inflation. Heck, I have friend that ran for Ms. Maroon & White (or whatever they call it at Morehouse) and that cost money. Imagine what the costs are for running for US House of Rep or Senate or even President offices.
A 30 second spot during the recent summer Olympics cost 525,000.00. If you wanted 30 second spot during the openning or closing ceremonies it went up to 575,000. Two spots during the opening or closing ceremonies cost more than 1 million dollars & that is only 1 minute of airtime.
Throwing the gas to ride around and fly to kiss babies. The price tag runs up quickly. Why wouldn’t a politician take the money from a corporation? Unfortunately, it leaves out the regular american citizen. As a result, we can feel powerless. Then, my aforementioned apathy sets in.
I will say that I am encouraged with Obama’s website grassroots fundraising. It give some power back to the people. There are people who never gave to politicians that are getting involved now with a click of the mouse.
However, everything goes back to the money element.

Growing up in NYC I dealt with alot of insecure females including me and it led to me not trusting females getting along better with males.
Now that I am very secure in myself its not about that anymore its just about having good people around me …. being open with others ..making new friends and keeping my old ones :)

Go back to the gold standard
Charge a tariff on all imports
Charge a flat Federal Tax of 25% on all income. Then clearly define income to close loopholes.
Take away all tax incentive to companies whose workforce is not 95% USA
Deny govenment contracts to any company whose workforce is not 95% USA
Cut the following government agencies: Homeland Security, FEMA and Treasury.

I just think that we have become conditioned to playing the victim. IMO that isn’t the case here.
It is a shame when people care more about Simon Cowell than who is representing them in Washington.
I for one can say that I have expessed my displeasure with congress before. It has been a while but I have. I called Sen. Paul Coverdell (I told you that it has been a while) about something. (I don’t even remember why I called his office, but I did.)
