It will all be worth it
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
It’s Valentine’s day, again. I can’t believe my disdain for today has actually deepened but it has. I think it was the Nivea Lotion commercial that did me in. I know that companies like to capitalize from this holiday, but come on…LOTION!?
At least the Nivea commercial featured music from one of my favorite artist right now. That’s one thing about Valentine’s week that doesn’t make me want to hurl a shoe at the Hallmark card display. I get in the mood to listen to love songs. I love them all. The sappier the better!
I created a playlist on my ipod with all my favorite love songs to remind me of love - endless love (80s music rocks).
When it comes to love songs, we have heard it all: New love, broken love, reunited love, angry love, stalker love - it’s all been put into a song.
What songs would you put on a playlist that best reflects how you feel about love these days?
If you are lucky enough to have someone special today, what songs would you use to set your evening up for romance?
In your opinion, what are some of the best, all-time love songs ever made?
What are the worst love songs?
Isn’t it funny how hearing a song can bring back the memories, emotions, or horrible flashbacks of an old love affair? Is there a song that instantly reminds you of someone?
There’s a song from Sarah McLachlan, titled Answer that is so beautiful. Some of the lyrics remind me of why I stay so hopeful about love: If it takes my whole life, I won’t break, I won’t bend, it will all be worth it, worth it in the end.
After all the dating misadventures, hook-ups, and dating disappointments, I have to believe that when me and Mr. Right finally find each other, it would have all been worth it in the end. Do you think it will all be worth it?
Happy Single Awareness Day!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY everyone!!!
I don’t have disdain for Valentine’s Day. I think it’s because I’m happy for those who have someone to celebrate it with. It makes me feel good to see others appreciate the ones they love.
Some guy just proposed marriage to his gf on the Steve Harvey Morning show, very sweet.
It’s one day, and you’re blessed to wake up and live it. I hope everyone has a wonderful Feb. 14th!

What songs would you put on a playlist that best reflects how you feel about love these days?
I have to many songs to name but here are a few artist on my list; KEM, Anthony Hamilton, India, Legend, Jill, Ledisi, Cold Play, Natasha Benfield…i could go on.
What are the worst love songs?
I wouldn’t say i have a worst love song. But this song bring up the STRONGEST emotion in me even to tears EVERY time i hear it!
“I will always love you” - Whitney Houston “Body Gaurd” movie.
When i got the call that my Grandmother had pass, this song was up to play on my radio and i sat there and embraced every word….15years later it still affect me the same.

“In your opinion, what are some of the best, all-time love songs ever made?”
Without a doubt the BEST love song EVER made is I Won’t Hold You Back by Toto (from their multi-Grammy winning CD ‘Toto IV’.) If that song doesn’t move you then you have NO heart.
Here’s a YouTube clip of Toto performing it LIVE (with two sistas on background vocals) from sometime back in the ’90s. FYI the sog actually begins at about the 3:00 mark of the video. The rest is just intro music.
Enjoy.

All I have to say is boo hoo. At this time last year I was getting wooed and had the bomb surprise when I got home. Well today love is on the blink but it’s okay. I have though, already received a couple of things but not from who I want them from…but it’s okay…I digress.

Morning All,
Happy Valentines Day to all the Blog Ladies. May your day be as special as you want it to be.
on Topic- Adore by Prince is my #1 all time favorite. You can’t beat the pure unashamed lyrics. 2nd on the list would be Marvin Gaye Distant Lover (live version). I stop whatever I’m doing when these two come or in some cases Start.
rell can’t beat that list mayne. I’m sure between you and 4real we’ll have the music going strong today.

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone
I am grateful for everyday…good, bad, and cold. (I wonder if any of the blog ladies went over to Truth’s crib last night…it sure was cold).
Valentine’s Day is about love. We all have “people” we love- so remember that.
I am a sucker for love songs, so I don’t have a favorite. However from a young age I always wanted Freddie Jackson’s “You are my Lady” to be my wedding song. When that day comes hopefully that will be my song.
You Are My Lady There’s something that I want to say But words sometimes get in the way I just want to show My feelings for you There’s nothing that I’d rather do Than spend ev’ry moment with you I guess you should know I love you so
(Chorus 1:) You are my lady You’re ev’rything I need and more You are my lady You’re all I’m living for
There’s no way that I can resist Your precious kiss Girl, you’ve got me So hypnotized Just say that you’ll stay with me (you’ll stay) ‘Cause our love was meant to be I promise to love you More each day

I think it was the Nivea Lotion commercial that did me in.
While I don’t have disdain for this pseudo-holiday, there’s one commercial that irks me to no end…………the KY jelly commercial………”Happy Valentine’s Night”. And I’m thinking, “when in he!! did I get the Playboy channel? Dang! Okay, back to your regular programming………..

Disclaimer: I am about to post a helluva long post, forgive me in advance
Is there a song that instantly reminds you of someone? For You by Kenny Lattimore and First Love by Goapele both remind me of my college sweetheart.
What songs would you put on a playlist that best reflects how you feel about love these days? I’ve Been Searching by Glenn Jones is one song I can think of.
In your opinion, what are some of the best, all-time love songs ever made?
Adore - Prince
If You Love Me - Mint Condition
If I Had My Way - Chrisette Michele
Love’s Holiday - EWF
Aint No Way - Aretha Franklin
Make Me A Believer/I Who Have Nothing - Luther Vandross
Yearnin For Your Love - Gap Band
Love Me in A Special Way - Debarge
Of course I could on & on with this one! WHEW!!
This should be a fun topic today, cant wait to see some song choices. Might end up making a new list of forgotten songs!

Happy Valentines Day Blog Brothers and Sisters - Feel the LOVE today!
Wise - Yes, take it from one who knows - when it happens and it’s right, it will all be worth it! I am very fortunate to have met Mr. Right and we are at that wonderful, almost honeymoon state right now! In fact, the mail guy is on his way to my desk to bring me my flowers right now! I’ve waited awhile for this and gone through many “misadventures”, but when it’s real and right, it’s heaven:). You are a good person and it will definitely happen for you!

The limo, the spa treatment, the restaurant, the hotel…but I forgot the perfect mood setting music. Now I have got to sit here and burn the perfect CD.
The first song “Lovin’ You”. It probably wont matter what I put on there after that ‘cause no one will be really listening. But let me see what I will throw on there anyway.

WD I too LOVE 80’s music. I always have my dentist play it when I am in the chair. I blast it from my IPOD and my car and I don’t care who sees me jamming!

I’m going to take advantage of this day when everyone is happy to preach. I phoned my girl last night and asked what she does when a guy ask for her number. She told me that she thanks them for their time and courage and remind them not to waste any of those on her (lucky to be me). If a man ask for your number and you don’t want to associate with him; put a smile on your face, tanks him for his time and tell him that while you appreciate his courage, you counsel him to invest it wisely and not waste it on you. My girl reminded me of a hidden secret of success about turning a negative answer into a positive one. Guys understand keywords, in this case: “Waste” and “Invest”.
A man approaching a woman should be seen as a very positive act; a reminder to her that she is an attractive being. If a man doesn’t want to accept no, it should be a reminder to her that men can’t help but want to get to know her at any cost. A woman in such conditions should put a big smile on her face and praise God because she is desirable and attractive. Complaining about guys refusing to back off is an ingenuity of turning a very positive act into a negative one; it is very much failing to recognize the grace of God; just being negative by choice. People with this view need to learn to have a positive outlook of life; they need to learn how to appreciate little things in life; they need to see this as a blessing instead of a nuisance. I view this as complaining to God: “God, how can you dare? Why did you make me so hot? I’m so tired of being so attractive, guys bother me a lot; please God, do something”. Think about being on the other side of the table……and remember that prime time don’t last forever, enjoy every second of it.

Well, first of all, expand your horizons and listen to something besides pop songs. They’re akin to nursery rhymes. There’s a world of music out there that represents artistic endeavor, and a range of emotions far beyond what pop music’s rather poor poetry and simplistic construction can convey.
Second of all, yeah sure, Valentine’s Day is a commercialized ripoff, but why bytch and moan about it? It is what it is. God help the poor fool that thinks his girl doesn’t really care if she doesn’t get a dozen roses and Godiva chocolates in a fancy box, along with a sappy card and a present or two. Is it really so much to have to do? Don’t you want her to feel loved? It’s a simple gesture, if you feel so much remorse about it, well… get over it. It’s only Valentine’s Day.

BennyB…that is great advice. The same attitude should be taken when a guy asks for a dance, your number, a date, etc. However, there will always be a knuckle head that just don’t get the polite “no thank you”. In that case, I pretty much tell the individual to have a great day and thanks again for asking….like my friend at the gas station. lol

Songs…Moments in Love by Art of Noise
Anniversary has little to no substance….”Lay your head on my pillow” is my favorite from that CD
In Honor of Michael Jackson’s Thriller album being 25 years old (as of 2/12/08) I will submiit “The Lady in My Life” as a pretty good love song and it has substance.

Quick story for ya’ll, During the holidays back in 98/99 one of em, anyway Went back to FLA for a few days just kicking it with the folks. Go to the club and meet up with some old friends. Met up with a classmate that I wanted to get at for years but couldn’t because of timing and whatnot. We remininscing and find out ole girl had the biggest crush on me. The song Jagged Edge I Gotta Be comes on and I’m in full mack mode. Started that slow deep whisper in her ear basically singing the song to ole girl. I thought I was being corny as hell but she literally had tears in her eyes. We walking out the club and i’m feeling like the Playa of the year (whey my trophy at mayne).lol!!Needless to say that was my HunnyBunny for a few months. We still cool to this day. Ahhh memories.

I bought a box of “52 Weeks of Naughty Nights” scratch-off cards. I am curious to see the surprises they hold. Has any one seen these cards?
I stole a verse from “Natural Woman” and wrote it in a card that I will give him after leaving the restaurant in the limo.
When my soul was in the lost-and-found
You came along to claim it
I didn’t know just what was wrong with me
Till your kiss helped me name it
Now I’m no longer doubtful of what I’m living for
Cause if I make you happy I don’t need no more
Cause you make me feel like a natural woman
Then imma whisper my own “pick-up line” “I am just dying to feel you inside of me”. We’ll see where the evening takes us from there.
Now I am going to try to get some work done.

Do yall remember Immature “I Will Never lie”…aw man, that was the cutest, most lie telling, sweetest song from back in the day. lol
Then they grew up a little, turned into B2k. I like that song Gots 2 be. But after looking at the lyrics, I swear this sounds like a pimp trying to get him a new ho:
Its not my way to talk to strangers,
But I feel like I already know you.
And if you need somebody, I wanna manage you.
I can tell that you’ve been through some changes,
In your past relationships.
But come on and walk through that door,
Cuz I’m what you’ve been waiting for.
Whatever’s on your mind (let it off)
Girl we got lots of time (we can talk)
Through all the good times and bad times
I wanna be the gots 2 be in your life.
Gots to be the one that makes you sad
Gots to be the one you never had
Gots to be the one that you want so damn bad
Gotta be, Gotta be, Gotta be, Gotta be your everythang (everythang)
Girl you just can’t love anybody,
I tell you I’m the right one for you.
But you gots to believe me,
Cuz everything that I tell you is true (yeah)
I wanna be your mother, your father,
Your brother, and you sister too.
Be the good, be the bad,
Be the gots 2 love that you run to.
Now tell me after reading that, it don’t sound like a dude spitting that pimp game of promising you the world…YeaH HIS controlling world.

Lenny Williams and Keith Sweat are definitely pioneers in the are of musical begging, but Otis Redding HAS to be the originator.
**These arms of mine They are lonely Lonely and feeling blue These arms of mine They are yearning Yearning from wanting you
And if you, would let them hold, hold you Oh how grateful I will be
These arms of mine They are burning Burning from wanting you These arms of mine They are wanting Wanting to hold you
And if you, would let them hold, hold, hold you Oh how grateful I will be
These arms of mine They are burning Burning from wanting you These arms of mine They are wanting Wanting to hold you
And if you would let them hold, hold you Oh what a night it would be Come on, come on now baby I’ll be your woman Just be my lover I need me somebody Somebody to treat me right Oh, I need your arms Loving arms to hold me tight I want to know if you want me, need me, love me, be mine tonight**

Willie if you know the story behind that Phill Collin’s song it would make you say wow. I learned the story behind it when I choose to do my solo dance to it in a show and my teacher told me I had to find out what it meant in order to really be able to choreograph it to it’s best. It’s about a being a witness to a crime and the person who committed the crime did not know they were being watched. He knew the person in passing, hence the words, “I’ve seen your face before my friend, but I don’t know if you know who I am. But I was there and I saw what you did. I saw you with my own two eyes. So you can wipe off that grin. I know where you’ve been. It’s all been a pack of lies.” Nonetheless..his drumming on that song makes it so hot that you think it’s about infidelity.

Raqi, don’t be ashamed to admit that. Love the song, especially the way she lets those 3 words roll off her tongue.
Take a good look at it Look at it now Might be the last time you’ll Have a go round I’ll let you touch it if you’d Like to go down I’ll let you go further If you take the southern route Don’t go to fast Don’t go to slow You’ve got to let you’re body flow I like ‘em attentive And I like ‘em in control
Chorus Baby it’s yours All yours If you want it tonight I’ll give you the red light special All through the night Baby it’s yours All yours If you want it tonight Just come through my door Take off my clothes And turn on the red light
I know that you want me I can See it in your eyes You might as well be honest ‘cause the Body never lies Tell me your secrets and I’ll I’ll tell you mine I’m feelin’ quite sexy And I want you for tonight If I move too fast just let me know ‘Cause it means you move too slow I like some excitement And I like a man that goes
Chorus
If you want me Let me know it I’ll make time but You’ve got to show it If you need me I want to see it But don’t mistake me I don’t want you down on your knees I need someone a real man I need someone who understands I’m a real woman I know just what I want I know just who I am

The Canada lady was on point, but the dude they started the discussion with - well let’s just say he did not seem like the sharpest pencil in the bunch! Ask him what he liked to do - go to sports bars & strip clubs? Well, I guess he was honest!

I also saw where PC was talking bout why he wrote the song and it contradicts the stories. Look on youtube and click on the about this video link. I remember in the old Gentlemans Club a chick bout 6’2,thick (smile) and dark as last night did a solo strip to this song. Everyone in the club stopped what they were doing to watch her. I would have to say my all-time favorite song is “Fortunate” by Maxwell. I mean I can hear that on any ocassion and just swoon. :-) I also love ‘Always’ by Stevie Wonder; ‘For You’ by Kenny Latimore; ‘You’ by Jesse Powell and ‘Beauty’ by Dru Hill. And of course anything by the late and great Luther Vandross is great!
And even though I’m single, I delight in Valentine’s Day because I love to see people in love and definitely am NOT a V-day hater. It can be a little too hyped up, but I think it’s a great way to show someone how much you care for them.
And FYI I just got a secret Valentine at work complete with flowers, a balloon and a bag full of goodies, so I can’t complain too much…someone out there thought of me today.
So…HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO ALL OF YOU IN THE ATL. :-)

There is one song by Mystic on his Ghetoo Revelations CD called “@#$% Song#….its not really that romantic, but it gets straight to the point. I picked up Leona Lewis from the UK her song Here I Am is cool. Reminds me of romance. Lionel Richie song What You Are, might end up being a wedding song hit. Even though its old and played Closer by Goapele is nice.

ABC I’m sitting on Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, William LLoyd Webber,Liszt,Bach and Rachmaninov. I was introduced to it thru a mentoring program I joined when I got into real estate. There was alot of information to learn and they recommended learning it while listening to this music. Its actually pretty cool. I don’t listen like I used to but I keep it in case I need it.
For the fellas looking to get a start on next years v-day. You can charter a Gulfstrean 550 from Charlie Brown Airport and fly ol girl (privately) up to New York or Vegas for a 3-4 day getaway. Tell her your going to take her to lunch and drive straight to the flightline. (Set it up with her boss of course) Since I know you cats have a record of her clothes sizes ( now looking at the fellas sideways) pick up some clothes for her and take a bag. You can see a show, do some shopping, gambling, a nice restaurant for dinner and back home by Sunday evening. Cost: about $10,000-15,000 Memories: Priceless
This is only for Thee One, not the one your knocking off. LOL

BlueK before I met whitebread the only thing I knew about sex was it’s how you make babies. My mom schooled me real well in sex education and nature taught me that my body likes the way it feels. I got married when I was 19 and didn’t learn any thing else about it. What I didn’t know was it got sooooo much better than that. After being with whitebread for a few months I remember like it was this morning him asking me what do you want me to do? I was 25 and didn’t not know what to say. He said lay back let me show you something. I was more than speechless when he finished. I had just been turned out magnificently. A lover of carnal pleasure was born. After that it was like what else you got.
When I got with Nature guy it sort of subsided back to the basics. But it was good basics. Then I got with The Man. After it was established that we were a regular encounter, he said don’t be shy about telling me what you want and if I do any thing you don’t want just push my head, hand or whatever away I will know to refrain from that. Man life is good. LOL
But yeah…don’t complain about not getting what you want if you are not willing to state it and assist. A squeaky wheel gets the oil.
I know you didn’t ask for all of that but there you go.
Now let me read what else everyone else is talking about. LOL

melo Sex is a marital duty is what my mother told me before I got married. “Duty” made it sound a lot less exciting but I soon learned what she meant. At 19 we had sex like jack rabbits. But when I got older and into more mature relationships I learned that you sometimes have to accommodate even when you really don’t feel like it. Especially when it is “feel better” sex. If I am dog tired I can no to the normal “you want to have sex”, “let’s do it”, “come sit on your man’s lap”. Easy no if I am just not feeling it.
But when the “I need some loving” hits my ear, it’s hard to say no. Really impossible to say no. I have to come up with the energy even if I don’t have it. It’s my duty.
The there’s emotional bounding sex, the “me so horny sex” and so on.

BK I feel you. For most getting married is an excuse to lay down. Thats when its supposed to kick off. These same folks are hurt when their partner dips. Personally there’s a few ways we can get this done, suck me, fug me, or jack me off but if you don’t want the job get out the way. I don’t have the option of laying down on the loot or when someone breaks in the house. Goes back to Areds quote about doing your job or don’t cry when you get replaced.

Binford People are surprised to find that bible actually speaks of our duty of marital sex.
Please note: “The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.”
One time The Man and I went to a couple’s seminar with my friend Doc and her husband. The instructor recited the above verses and Mason blurted out “see I told you it said that”. LOL He was lying and just wanted to be the class clown that day. But his shenanigans got me lectured in front of every one about my duties as a wife. He thought that crap was funny. I wanted to tell the instructor so bad that we had sex that morning before coming to the seminar. But I didn’t want to disrespect the instructor. He was a minister you know.

My family on my mother’s side is bourgeois, even by my white friends. They never tire from looking down their high stoop at others and there’s a running list of things you should never-ever-ever do. To me bourgeois is a mentality, when you see one, you just know it.
I’m often described on sight by some black people as bougie and yet I don’t dress preppy or particularly conservative (actually, you couldn’t pay me to dress preppy). Black people from certain socioeconomic levels use bougie to reference a person that’s not particularly hood. Someone that speaks, behaves, thinks, lives in a certain way, etc.. For this reason, bougie can be used (under that definition) to describe someone who even lives in the hood or comes from money, but has a certain mentality. Others use the term to describe someone who are fake and/or annoyingly conceited. It’s meaning sometimes changes depending on who’s using the term.

Raqi even better than a duty is when your mate is a actual participant in your sex life vs a reluctant bystander. As I’ve said before I’ve been very fortunate with female partners but i had some great teachers too.
My last gf would call and say something outta the way on a regular or send me a text message which, in lieu of some azz at least lets you its on her mind. It keeps that bond there.
BK I feel you bruh. I’mma wind up doing alot of things I may not want to and you are too. Those kinda rules are outta place in a “longterm” relationship. Plus, sex is full contact for me so who knows what we may wind up doing. The good thing is when you get a chick solo and love her right she busts out a big eraser and wipes those kinda things outta heer mind. LOL

BK, I would rather not come off as disparaging due to intellect. I think it’s more of a cultural issue than one of relative intelligence. I think one can observe effects of better musics vs. common pop songs on a mentally handicapped person and see the proof of that.
Now, Najee is all nice and everything, but that’s not jazz. That’s pop instrumental. There is no such thing as smooth jazz, all that is either pop instrumental or older R&B and R&B-influenced pop from the ‘80’s. I’m not saying it’s bad or anything, it’s fine; but it’s not jazz.

Truthy Oh I have a don’t do list. But as I stated I have been given an out. LOL
My friend Doc said once before I got married, marriage comes with a lot of problems as it is just learning how to leave with a complete stranger. Why let something like a little sex add to those problems. Mase and I agree on sex and a lot of other things. We don’t agree on I need to be more lenient with my boys, but we agree on other important matters.

Ok - you have a nice luxury car but the guy that you’re seeing does NOT, he’s made it clear that he doesn’t like his car…so everytime you two go out, it’s in YOUR nice car (but he fills up the gas tank everytime). Thoughts? I say it’s pretty lame for him to do that, but maybe others would be fine with this sort of arrangement. I think it’s different if you are married and have a “hoopty” car that you drive to work in and run errands, but use the nice car for church or out on the town. But not for any ol other man. Am I being used???

When I’m in full on ATL herbal mode, and meeting women of that ilk, my dates tend to cost less, because those women tend to be into things overall that cost less. so they would look forward to a Grant Park concert, with a picnic in the park, followed by a long walk, filled with great conversation and laughs as a first date, and think the man to be the sweetest, most sincere man ever.
Yet, when I’m in full on “Man of Leisure” mode and with the women of that ilk (some might refer to them as my bourgeoisie folk) the date described above wouldn’t make the cut. We drink, eat, and party at venues with a high price tag when alone and expect date location choices that fall on the same level, if not better. So the cost of those dates can easily quadruple and one to me isn’t better than the other, just different in terms of what you believe the outcome to be with each. Money for me isn’t an issue because while I’m in ANY way a BBAAALLLEEERRR, the experience is honestly, what stands as the determining factor and I have no problems paying to enjoy myself. My top 5 all time dates fall into both the Über-expensive and the under $40 categories, the staple of all five were the chemistry and flow of the dates. I was sharing the pleasure of an amazing individual with similar interest and an ability to be intriguing, challenging, humorous, and sensually stimulating all in the course of a few hours together.
P.S. “I suggested the post dinner. And since I did, I paid the bill.” You seldom find people who live by that rule. Well done. I don’t believe it applies to a first date or second, or for that matter the third. However, when in a relationship, that is a rule I agree with

Truth/Raqi Now I’m not the type of dude that expects, nor want to see my girl out pushing lawnmowers, but I was “character checking” this chick and asked her, “If you saw me out pushing the lawnmower and it’s was really hot and all, what would you do?” She comes back with, “I’d bring you a cold glass of water, lemonade, or tea… whatever you wanted. Then I’d wipe your head with a cold rag.”
So now I’m thinking, “Aight that’s cool. I’ll even give you some extra on the multiple drink selection” - picturing her walking up with 3 glasses.
But then she said this ===> “And then I’d ask you if you wanted me to take over for a minute.” It immediately occurred to me that this wasn’t no ordinary broad that I was dealing with. She, was either willing to do what I know a lot, if not most woman wouldn’t do, or had the brilliance to throw that out there. Either way, I’m impressed.

Staceye Could it have been that to you sex is not sex but it is Love Making, and since he could have sex with you, knowing that you were not mentally and / or physically involved repulsed you. Kind of like being molested or for lack of a better word raped.
The reason I asked is because I knew a young lady who said a guy did her like that, she just let him do it, and he was huffing and puffing while she just laid flat and didn’t move. And after that she was not able to even look at him. She didn’t say no, but all of her body language did.

Wow * Staceye* that’s interesting. You resent him after sex. I wish I knew what to tell you. I have never resented a guy after being with him even when I didn’t feel like it. I have told him not even a second after he peaked to “now take your arse to sleep”. But I have never hated him. That’s interesting. Has a guy never given you sex even when he did want to? You know despite popular belief guys don’t always want sex. Not calling you selfish or anything but that is sort of a selfish take on it. To feel annoyed to the point of resentment because you “had” or rather chose to do something you didn’t want to do.
Anybody can be persuaded. Why not try next time “allowing” yourself to be persuaded into wanting to. But you can’t sit there like a stone. You will have to open yourself up (no pun intended) to be persuaded. Wow hated him.
Sweetie you definitely could not have lived my life. I have been to the point a time or two or three when I clearly stated that I didn’t want to have sex and I was not going to have it, just to be awaken an hour later mid or-gasm with his hand shoved in my panties. I woke up, gave it to him and went back to sleep. I was angry and let him know it the next morning. But no resentment was formed.
LOL I feel like I am teaching sex ed 101.

Okay after reading Demi’s response, Staceye were you ever in a situation as a child where you were forced to something you didn’t want?
If so, you owed it to him and to any future man to let them know that. When they are insisting or “begging” they have no way of knowing this bothers you. You have got to find a way to separate the two. It is unfair for the man you are with to be put in that position and to only be able to get sex when you are 100 % for it. Like I said anyone can be persuaded and your mate has the right to try. Not force, which you didn’t say he forced you, but to be persistent in trying. You need to get some help for your own self if for no other reason.

Ok to clear up some things…my guy has a 1989 Tempo and the muffler is really loud and one of the doors is a different color than the rest because he had to get it replaced, and the transmission is slipping as well, so sometimes if he tries to go up hill…there is a good possibility that it “might” roll backwards. I drive a 2006 BMW 6 Series Coupe…its very nice and I keep it up very well. But I’m ready to ditch him for other reasons too, this being one of them.
I agree with Truth & Amina….wth was I thinking for even getting with this dude!!

Raqi If I don’t want to…there is no persuading me. Touching on me after I said no will only add fuel to the fire. Its like you don’t care what I say or feel. It’s all about you getting yours off and I should do it out of obligation. That makes me hate him. It does feel like rape afterwards.

Beautiful talk is cheap. Yeap talk is cheap, but she did a helluva job pushing the sale.
she said what you wanted to hear. Nope, I had no expectations as to what the answer would be, but like I said, impressive.
me, i would have been dressed to take over as soon as i saw that you needed a drink break. Like you said earlier, talk is cheap, and sometimes impressive. No permanent staff has been brought on as of yet. Come on down to my office, drop off your resume, and fill out an app (gotta have a legal signature on file). I’ve got a helluva benefits package.

Bk its not a bad thing. Usually, and this may not be politically correct, a persons economics are controlled by their thought processes and education. Meaning, you wouldn’t have much to talk about with a hoodrat except boning. However, if you met a woman that was closer to where you were at financially and mentally you’d have alot to share. My .02 Just keeping it real.

QueDog I agree with you and I don’t agree with you. I am all for the difference of Just Sex and Love Making. But either if it’s only when I want it, it is unfair to my mate. To say it is less than love making because I am not the one wanting it is truly unfair. I love to make love and I like to have sex, but I know how to do both for my partner just like he does for me.
I hope it is something deeper than that with her. I would hate to hear that her past was difficult but I can’t see justifying it with just some terms that I have in my head of what it (sex) means.
If she has troubled past she needs to tell her partner and play word games.

Sollanly -1st off Big Up!! just for takin the time to get to know homie and his hoopty-mobile. I would say that its cool that he is always willing to fill up the tank. However gettin used? perhaps cause if you’re puttin in some Miles to run around with him then that is not good for your car. Most luxury cars have high maintence/ service rates so no need to have to take it to the shop more often then need be. Also the value of your car decreases with every mile logged, so perhaps he needs to get his car running better then you two should dam near always run around town in that, unless its a Nice weekend out date. That way your car keeps its value while his car gets all the unesseccary miles.

@Sollanly Regarding your situation……if your man has no pride in what he has(the 1989 Tempo) and he isn’t making an attempt to better himself, but would rather be flossin in your car, then you are the FOOL in your relationship.

You never really know though, do you? Read “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”. You’d be surprised at who drives hoopties. When I think of the professors I’ve had that made millions traveling to foreign countries advising companies and governments, they’ve all had hoopties. Real wealth does not have to displayed by flash.
You’d do better to examine his financial thought patterns and his attitude about saving and building wealth than by relying on what your eyes see as an example of his fitness to date.
Staceye I’ll listen to that, see if I can put it in the repertoire. Now a song I do love is “Crashed” by Daughtry, you can put a lot of high energy moves in that one, along with slow, controlled, hypnotizing motion…

…if a person drives a hooptie that would be an indication of their financial situation and thus we might not need to be dating. Not necessarily. He/she could simply keep driving the car because it’s paid for and they’ve been putting what use to be their car note in a savings to buy a better car. There could be a variety of reasons why he’s driving a hooptie. One shouldn’t assume that’s all they could afford.

Isn’t it funny how hearing a song can bring back the memories, emotions, or horrible flashbacks of an old love affair? Is there a song that instantly reminds you of someone?
Any song from Aaron Hall’s “The Truth” (not to be confused with our The Truth) reminds me of my ex from my high school days, Craig. We were not really supposed to be together, so I’d meet up with him and we’d get in his car and ride to the next town and back, that was how we spent time together. We’d ride in complete silence, holding hands and listening to Aaron Hall over and over again all teary eyed. That is some love you never forget.
Then whenever I hear “After The Love Is Gone” by EWF, I think of the time he came to visit me at college and we put that song on repeat to drown out the sounds of us get reacquainted in my dorm room. It played about 30 times. The whole hall knew that song front to back, and probably in Spanish and Sign Language too, by the time he left that night…LOL

What up Blog Fam!
Song: Prince is my favorite overall but I got to give it up to the pimp turned preacher Al Green he has two songs that explains how much a man loves his woman.
(1) How can you mend a broken heart
I can think of younger days when living for my life Was everything a man could want to do I could never see tomorrow, but I was never told about the sorrow
And how can you mend a broken heart? How can you stop the rain from falling down? How can you stop the sun from shining? What makes the world go round? How can you mend this broken man? How can a loser ever win? Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again
I can still feel the breeze that rustles through the trees And misty memories of days gone by We could never see tomorrow, no one said a word about the sorrow
And how can you mend a broken heart? How can you stop the rain from falling down? How can you stop the sun from shining? What makes the world go round? How can you mend this broken man? How can a loser ever win? Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again

melo I have got to go but here are two little simple acts that he and I both enjoy. LOL they both are while the other is asleep how about that.
But since we have been for going on 7 years now I pretty have become familiar with his sweet spots. If that loving feeling hits me after he has fallen asleep, I will very lightly strum his sweet spots. Lightly enough that I will not awake him but firmly enough that he can feel it. I know he feels it because he moves just a little. Once I have gotten his full attention, hence the tent forming in his pants, I wake him up and ask him, “are you going to let that go to waste?” Nothing like a ride on a nice chiseled dizzle. He loves that.
And one the things he does for me is take his chin and semi firmly press it into my personal space and then take the top of my panties in his teeth and gently rub along my hair line with his nose. Once I raise my head he knows I am aware he is down there, he will take his tongue and run up to my navel and back. Because I am asleep my senses are extra sensitive and that move sends a sensation over my body like you would not believe. At that time I can choose to have him come up and put his tongue in my mouth or stay low and…
You all have a good evening. I know I am going to surely try to.
(He just called to let me he has finished his massage and is getting ready for his sports mani and pedi. By the time I get home and get showered and dressed he should be finished at the spa and heading to the restaurant.)
