Seasons of love

I’m delighted at the chill in the air lately, because I know it means fall is coming! Of course, the inherent beauty of the leaves changing and the relaxed highs are enough to lift my spirits after dog-hot summers in Georgia, but autumn means a little bit more to me. For me, those leaves falling softly to the ground are representative of men to come. Because when it comes to love, fall is my best recruiting season.

I’m not sure if it’s because for 22 years fall meant the beginning of school and therefore the introduction to hundreds of more potentials in the dating pool. Or maybe it’s because I’m giving off some sort of natural positive glow in the fall. Whatever the case, I tend to either meet new people or cultivate existing relationships and am usually contemplating some sort of relationship by November.

What’s your best season for discovering potential love interests? Maybe it’s summer because you get to show off your body in public a little more. Or maybe the dead of winter is perfect to snuggle up with a new friend and a cup of hot chocolate in front of a fire. When do you think you shine the most?

Do you find your dating life goes in cycles? Do you have seasons that go better than others?

What does the coming of autumn usually mean for your dating life? What will it mean this year?

$Bill and two lovely ladies? Life is good!

On topic: My favorite time of year if the spring and the fall. The comfortable weather and great company of a lady can lead to a nice time. Imagine sitting on a patio having a conversation, dinner and drink to go with that cool breeze. When it’s too hot, sweating and running from the heat can make your plans go poof.

Good Morning Everyone!!

I love fall…soooo many good things happen in the FALL…such as football and crop jackets to go with jeans and high heel boots!

I think football season brings the boys out. My girlfriend met her boyfriend last year at the Dome and they’re still going strong. And of course I met my fiance at Fox Sports Grill during the playoffs…

Are you ready for some football!

Buen dia to all

Me thinks Fall is a lovely time of year as well. No mosquitos, less bugs flitting about, less humidity, and is it just me or does the sun seem brighter in the mornings? LOL

Is dating seasonal for me? Perhaps — I tend to be in a better mood about it in the Fall and Spring. I enjoy refreshing evenings relaxing on the patio, candles lit, with beverages and munchies of choice, the changing of the leaves, the luxurious joy of doing nothing on Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings but watch football, the cool brisk air and his arms around me as we stroll, laughing, bonding, conversing over hot chocolate and eventually curling up in front of a fireplace!

Romances that begin in the fall and spring have generally been most successful for me. I’m already thinking about who could be the one I’d like to join me for my birthday weekend in Hilton Head! Nominations being accepted :)

I love the spring and fall. The air the weather.

I think the spring feels like renewal, fresh love. The fall is like settling down for the winter and you start thinking about christmas and the holidays.

The leaves turn, and I think romance. But that’s just me.

Good Morning All

Well this will be my first Fall in GA, not sure what to expect.

I usually look forward to the fall to break out my hi heel boots and short skirts is that only a NY thing?

I was wondering when is the right time in GA to break out the boots - it’s so much warmer here. Then again I wear my boots in FL when I visit (as long as it’s not the summer season).

Ladies when is it a good time, and do you gals also do the short skirt knee hi boot thing? I will do it regardless, but thought I would ask?

Hello all….

When I do date…I don’t have a seasonal love thing. It stay pretty consistant. I lve all seasons except winter. Here in the A, people think because you are from a cold place such as NY,Canada, etc.m that you like cold weather. Not true..you are just more adapted to it. Being a December baby, people tend to also think you like the cold. Nope, I love tanks and mini skirts. I love the bloom of spring flowers, the foliage of the leaves in Central park or upstate…or driving on the highways of ATL and seeing the trees change. I love going to the beaches all over the country or lounging poolside in the summer and getting the sun-kissed glow. Winter comes and all I wanna do is stay inside, watch TV, eat stuff that I shouldn’t and run over to the gym right after I eat it to burn it off so I am not a rolly polly come spring. But I like to go to the Caribbean in the winter because it’s like getting summer all over again. That is why I hit up Jamaica in November…Hedo here I come!

NY 2 GA * usually look forward to the fall to break out my hi heel boots and short skirts is that only a NY thing* Girl I know the feeling. I had that same question when I got here 3 years ago. I got all types of boots and colors galore. I start to pull mine out only in the evenings in like Mid-October. By November you should be able to do it in the day time without burning up. But with Global Warming, that time scale may have to be altered to fit the rise or fall of temps.

Lady J I was at Myrtle Beach this past weekend and it was nice..not crowded..still warm enough to enjoy the water or just lounge on the beach. I watched a beach wedding, it was beautiful. Not to mention all the merchandies was crazy cheap since they are trying to get rid of it. I got some really fancy navel rings that were $25 each..I got 3 for $20. So go enjoy the cheap hotel/resort prices as well.

By Foots

September 20, 2007 10:33 AM | Link to this

I don’t have a specific season for dating either, I attract fools anytime of the year. LOL!!

Fall is my favorite season. The fresh air, warm afternoons, brisk evenings, 7:00 being nighttime again, all of it. Summer is great, but it’s too hot to really enjoy the outdoors. Fall is when you can get outside and be comfortable. Not to mention the fair!! Funnel cakes, corn dogs, cotton candy, roasted corn, giant turkey legs, more cotton candy… I’m going out there tomorrow just to eat!

Spring is fine too, until it gets too hot. Our spring is so short here, it’s cold one day and burning up the next. Spring reminds me of those days in Athens, taking back roads through the neighborhoods with all of their trees and flowers in bloom…. sigh…

Morning Folks!

In general I love Fall for all the reasons LadyDark mentioned. While I’ve never had a serious relationship come out of football season, tailgating and the GA Dome provide the greatest flirting opportunities.

In terms of dating all of my serious and relationships have resulted from Spring dating. Not sure if that means anything because we’re talking about 3.5 relationships. Maybe the tide will turn this Fall since I have a new goal to flirt more during my travels (at the airport, on the plane, etc)

Unlike most, I like hot weather. I don’t mind sweating as long as I’m dressed for it - like in a bathing suit on the beach. Or in a bathing suit out by a pool. I always have that option to cool off in the water.

Staceye I usually try to get some nice beach time in during the winter months too, but it’s not going to happen this year… :(

The only bad thing about growing up in Miami is the seasons never change. I didn’t see snow until I was 19. The leaves never change colors and fall off the trees. I’m accustomed to spending Christmas day at the beach. This time of year in Atlanta is my favorite. My philosophy regarding dating and seasons is simple. The colder the weather, the bigger the girl

By Bre

September 20, 2007 11:20 AM | Link to this

Greetings to all, I hope your day is going well.

I guess I’ve never really connected seasons and dating..its like it happens when it happens.

Being from GA many would think I would hate cold weather. However though I’m very much a winter person: I love boots, coats, snowboarding, walking thru the park after a fresh dusting of snow, a deep intake of cold fresh air opening the lungs, late night coco and a good book, the sheets crisp and a little chilly then snuggling close falling asleep with someone. To me its nothing like it. However on the other end I love summer, the beach heat and sweat on your skin…nothing like it. Not to mention the great golden tan one is rewarded afterwards.

Skeege to take the press away from real issues going on in LA.

What up blog fam!!!

I got meetings the rest of the day so here are my .02.

I HATE COLD WEATHER!!!!!

Here is your song of the day. It’s my tribute to summer as it prepares to leave. I know it’s about leaving a girl but I hate to see the summer go:

‘Know it sounds funny but I just can’t stand the pain, Girl, I’m leavin’ you tomorrow, Seems to me girl you’know I’ve done all I can, You see I’ve beg, stole and I’ve borrowed.

Chorus:

S’why I’m easy ….. easy like Sunday mornin’, It’s why I’m easy ….. easy like Sunday mornin’.

Why in the world would anybody put chains on me, yeah, I’ve paid my dues to make it, Everybody wants me to be what they want me to be, I’m not happy when I try to fake it, oooh.

Chorus: …..

Bridge: I wanna be high ….. so high, I wanna be free to know the things I do are right, I wanna be free ….. just me , oh baby.

Chorus: ….. (repeat the chorus with “cause I’m easy”)

No tats, don’t like anything perm. (12/10)yeahh Sag!!

I don’t like pantyhose either, but I do rock the funky tights, but more so the funky knee hi socks.

I make them peek out over my boots right at the knee. I want to do the legg warmer over the short boots thing this year - see if I can start a trend in GA.

Hey to all my fellow December babies ~ 12/6 here….

@NY y Staceye — I used to live in MD/DC, so I’m aware of the cold, black ice, snow, and alladat LOL Used to hit NYC much more often, and its been a year since my last visit. So I’m planning to go next month. With my coats, boots, tights and let me not forget a nice scarf and gloves!!

But really, the coming of Fall, romantically, signifies a new season, time for different adventures, and different faces and places. Locally, I only go running through Cagle’s Dairy farm in the Fall. I hope to hit Helen, GA and this is the best time of the year to go — and visit that Cabbage Patch Kids spot while up there LOL I love NYC and the northeast in the Fall because the change of seasons is soo apparent, much unlike growing up in southern Cali. Besides, I so enjoy seeing brothas dressed for the cooler temps — there is something just so appealing about a well-dressed man, and when his outerwear is nice, even more so!

The Jena incidents are a bunch of hype and jive. The ones who beat the white boy so severely should be charged appropriately. There were 3 months between the hanging of the nooses and the beating, if someone wants to promote that as having been a hate crime, bring charges or bring suit. With Sharpton and Jackson grandstanding and all the media jive driving the event, surely there’s money to do those.

Oh and one more thing. This is my favorite winter love making song. What are you favorites?:

Until the end of time I’ll be there 4 U U own my heart and mind I truly adore U If God one day struck me blind Your beauty I’d still see Love is 2 weak 2 define Just what U mean 2 me

From the first moment I saw U Ooh, I knew U where the 1 That night I had 2 call U I was rappin’ till the sun came up Tellin’ U just how fine U look In a word, U were sex All of my cool attitude U took My body was next U made love 2 me Like U where afraid Was U afraid of me? Was I the first? Was I your every fantasy? That’s why

Until the end of time I’ll be there 4 U U own my heart and mind I truly adore U If God one day struck me blind Your beauty I’d still see Love is 2 weak 2 define Just what U mean 2 me

When we be makin’ love I only hear the sounds Heavenly angels cryin’ up above Tears of joy pourin’ down on us They know we need each other They know U are my fix I know, that U know that I ain’t cheatin’ baby They know this is serious I ain’t f***’ just 4 kicks, no This condition I got is crucial, crucial baby U could say that I’m a terminal case U could burn up my clothes Smash up my ride, well maybe not the ride But I got 2 have your face All up in the place

I’d like 2 think that I’m a man of exquisite taste A hundred percent Italian silk imported Egyptian lace But nothin’ baby, I said nothin’ baby could compare 2 your lovely face Do U know what I’m sayin’ 2 ya this evening I’m just tryin’ 2 say I’m just tryin’ 2 say That until, until the end of time I’ll be there 4 U I’ll be there 4 U On my heart, on my mind, (truly adore U) I truly adore U (darlin’) U don’t know what you’re mean 2 me Baby, (until the end of time) Baby, (I’ll be there 4 U) Baby, (U own my heart and mind) ‘Til the end of time I’ll be there 4 U (I truly adore U) Adore U (adore U)

Can I talk 2 U? {{chorus repeated in background}} Tell U what U mean 2 me Every time U wander I’ll be your eyes so U can see I wanna show U things That I show no other, I wanna be More than, more than your mother More than your brother I wanna be (like no) like no other If U need me, I’ll never leave I know, that U know, without U there is no me There is no me Without U there is no sea There is no shore Love is 2 weak 2 define how much I adore U, child U, child The last words U hear The last words U hear

(until the end of time) I’ll be there for you, baby (until the end of time)

Be with me darlin’ til the end of time (until the end of time) I’ll give U my heart I’ll give U my mind I’ll give U my body (until the end of time) I’ll give U my time (until the end of time) (until the end of time)

The colder the weather, the bigger the girl you are a nut for that one! LOL

$Bill Food Fairs..where? I love those. Back in NY we have the San Janero Festival which is in the Little Italy part of Manhattan and I think it’s starting this weekend. It’s the bomb.

NY 2GA what you know about using the Petroleum jelly for those legs under that cheeleading uniform? Girl they used to called me slick because my legs would be shining like nobody’s business! Ooh my gosh too much alike.

The law did not do it’s job to persue it as a hate crime. So now they want to punish the retaliator? Come on! Those boys held a riffle on the Black boys and when the wrestled it from them and went to the cops to report it…the cops, the cops accused them of stealing the gun. No charges were brought to the white boys who originally pulled the gun on them. So again…how is the Jena 6 a bunch of jive.

There is some correlation with our emotions and the weather, but I do not relate the change of seasons with my dating/relationship experiences. I love the spring because the flowers bloom. It’s funny that the media often leaves out the beating of the black student (no charges) and the gun that was pulled on them (no charges). To me, it’s about does the punishment fit the crime, as well as has the proper punishment been doled out to everyone involved.

On the Jena case. This happened because black men have failed to fight in he past. They need to go in there and shoot the joint up. I mean large scale mass murder. This country would be horrified, and we’d have the respect, or fear, we’ve been lacking for 100’s of years.

Every time they march its a joke. No more marching, it doesn’t work. Its time for a civil war.

Now, I’ve never identified myself by race or that much else in this blog, and that’s on purpose. To do so taints one’s message, IMHO. If one’s opinion of anything must be tempered by their own ethnicity, then I discount their opinion as being not much their own, but rather that of the group they so strongly identify with. I prefer to form my own opinions without regard for what those of my own ethnicity may think as a group, and as to my own ethnicity, assume what you wish.

The white kid that got beat didn’t just ‘get hit’. Six boys knocked him unconcious with repeated blows by fist and feet, kicking him in the head. He bled from his eyes, nose and ears, and his entire head was severely swollen. A minimum charge, I would think, would be mayhem, a step or so beyond aggravated battery. That the attackers said they were going to kill him during the attack is worth considering that perhaps that was their actual intent. Maybe not; but maybe so.

abc I think that what you’re hearing ARE individuals’ opinions. When you’re given facts in a case, it’s inevitable that some will see them one way and some another.

Now, I don’t hear anyone saying “let em go scot free”, I hear “if you’re going to punish some, punish all (including the ones who beat the black child and brandished a shotgun), and mete out that punishment appropriately”. If those two things would have been at play, there would be no situation today.

I won’t advocate violence as a method of initiating change. I don’t believe that you can change the mindset of a particular generation with one march. But I believe that one of the main purposes of THIS march is to make the world aware of the injustices in our legal system that are still prevalent in 2007. Enough is enough. And for that alone, it has my support.

ABC you are totally wrong about violence. It was used on us because it worked so efffectively. After destroying the Black Panthers your govt allowed the Aryan BHodd and KKK to function as a safety valve. They used violence and still do. I say change can happen instantly if they have to go in droves and identify their childrens body like we have. What I recommend is nothing less than widespread civil war. Nelson Mandela was charged with treason in 1956 which was reasonable according to then South African law. The ANC had to go to violent mass struggle to fight against apartheid. In an unjust society brave people will use all they got to reclaim their rights and Jena 6s are not different.

If the six guys were that passive as abc wanted them to be, most of us would have never learned that somewhere at a public Louisiana high school, black students need permission from the principal to sit under a tree. Society change because brave people refuse to settle for the status quo and do whatever it takes to bring changes

let me get this straight…..it was OK for America to fight for its independence, it was OK to fight to preserve the union (civil war), but we’re supposed to effect change through non-violence, and hope legislation works for us??? And if it doesn’t? what, wait on the second coming for true justice?

Foots your position on the Jena 6 situation was very well put. ^5

I don’t advocate violence unless it is absolutely necessary (ie: you threaten my safety or that of someone I care for). Other than that, I think non-violence speaks volumes even though it is hard to do.

However, the prison industrial complex is real. Jails are being built to accomodate our men. Resorting to violence only puts more of you behind bars-leaving less & less of you in the “free world” to serve as role models for our children (especially Black boys) and to love/care/protect us-Black women. So, maybe it’s time for more brothers to put their guns and hands down-that approach isn’t working for the good. In fact, it’s almost driving the Black man towards extinction. Not a good look-
