Good, sound advice, as always. I guess part of Lt. Steve’s job is to keep reminding people.

This reminds me of when I was a college student and couldn’t afford my gas bill (hot water). I had a locker at the university gym, with a lock, that’s where I took my showers.

These days you couldn’t pay me to go to a gym, I don’t want some sweaty MRSA bacteria from the equipment.

I wasn’t going to say it but I will. I’m an Auburn University grad and I’m just sick about the poor freshman girl that was murdered.

Is the U.S. becoming more violent over time or are we just more aware of the violence around us? (news)

I know Lt. Steve’s collum is often humorous, and also informative. I don’t mean to interfere with that.

I am interested in changing society for the better. If anyone has any ideas I’d be glad to hear them.

Hey Bimbo, I shouldn’t even respond because it just encourages idiots like yourself. Why don’t you pontificate, tell us what you’ve done to make the world a better place. I’d really like to hear it, think long and hard and tell me, what have you done to make the world a better place?

Ya’ know, I say something like that, I ask that question, and I really wonder how many people are actually trying to make the world a better place.

I have a problem with cops and any “authority” in general. I have a lot of reasons why but that is for another blog. I have a lot of respect for Lt. Steve and appreciate the work he does here. He is doing things to make it all better. In his own way.

What I’d like to ask (am I repeating myself?) of anyone here is What the f+ck have you done lately? For your society, for your community, for anyone other than yourself.

It was once said, (and often repeated), that is you are under 30 and not a liberal then you have no heart or soul (ok I added the soul part), but if you are over 30 and not a conservative, you have no brains.

There is a lot of truth in that. We are reaping the benefits of the “social revolution” from the 60’s and 70’s. “Do your own thing man.”

Courtney Lockhart did his own thing. Oh wait, do be politically correct, I must say the alleged suspect in the horrendous murder was allegedly doing his own thing.

When you are young and mindless and you see scum treated like scum, you say, “Wow, that is terrible. No one should be treated that way. That person “deserves” to be treated with respect and dignity. He/she can be rehabilitated. His/her mother just didn’t show enough love.” (heart with no life long living, often called EXPERIENCE, talking).

When you get old, you see scum being treated like scum and you ask yourself, “Why are we paying to allow this human garbage to continue to steal oxygen from the rest of the palnet? Hang the b******* and put them out of OUR misery. Hopefully causing him as much misery as possible.” (Brain talking especially after seeing 100’s of cases like this one.)

You want changes? What’s wrong? You don’t like the changes that you and your lying Michael Moore neophyte buddies have unleashed upon the world? (IE a reference to your insipid war mongering post). You aren’t content with your changes? They aren’t MY damn fault. I’m one of the unenlightened, the morons who “aren’t just bright enough to get it” with your leftist policies.

You would probably argue that he shot her because he had one of those evil guns. I would counter that had she been armed she could have shot him instead. When the man approached in a threatening manner, it would have been “profiling” to have pulled a gun and said,”Back the hell away or get your brains blown out” because he was a black man. Bernie Goetz learned that didn’t he? You have to be beaten half to death, robber, raped, or murdered before you can try to defend yourself. If you prevent the act before it happens (somehow in the society that You have helped create) yOU are the criminal, not the predator who failed to exploit you.

I don’t know what else to tell you bro if you lack the ability to learn from the past or change ideals that have been proved time and time again to be flawed. To keep repeating the same action, in the same manner, time and time again and expect a different result, has been called a form of insanity. You can believe that you can fly when you jump off the top of spaghetti junction, but I KNOW you will make a bloody meat splatter if you do. Beliefs and wishes are just that. Reality is real.

Sorry to pontificate and I hope it didn’t come across in a demeaning or sarcastic manner. I could do better but I have to go put my daughter to bed now. If you like i will do a dissertation and send it to you. With more time and a chance to edit, I could clarify better.

Man… You guys sure put a lot of words in my mouth and spout thoughts you think are in my head.

I guess I can be called a “liberal” but just last week I was saying that when I win the lotto I’m going to pay crack-heads to be sterilized. That sounds more like Rush Limbaugh, no? Of course he’s a drug addict that lost his hearing due to drug use…

Do you think I have any sympathy for the pathetic F**K that shot Miss Burk in Auburn? Let me remind you that I am an AU grad and I sort of take that as an insult. I was very concerned about everything going down there as well as in NC.

The only left-wing rhetoric I have concerning the shooter is that; the way things are right now in the US/GA it costs the taxpayer more money to try and execute someone than it does to imprisson them for life. It’s a fiscal thing. Lock him away and forget about it, preferably in one of those cells they don’t get out of but for 30min a day.

I own guns. I have ideas about gun control, too lengthy to go into here. Perhaps you’ll agree that what we are doing now certainly isn’t working, any scumbag idiot can get a gun. I’m not “for” that.

Did I ever say anything about rehabilitating some crazed criminal that went on a crime spree and killed a young lady? No.

Am I angry about a stupid war that costs billions of dollars? Yes. In brief; We buy oil from whomever sells it. All we did by going into Iraq was stir up a hornets nest. The world supported our attacks in Afghanistan, the world did not support the invasion of Iraq, and for good reason. It was stupid, it destabilized the world economy. Have you noticed the value of the dollar compared to other currencies lately? Are you ready to pay $4 for gas?

Let me tell you a bit about my liberal life. I have a cabin on a creek in North GA that is paid for. My ‘82 toyota gets 33mpg. My ‘76 F-100 gets 18mpg (same as a new F-150). I’ve never made a car payment in my life. Every year that those vehicles have been on the road means another one hasn’t been made.

That’s my idea of being liberal and I’m just a stupid carpenter with a college education who has travelled the world. No trust fund here. Jeez, I don’t spend more than I make and I have money in the bank. I have assets. That’s sort of the opposite of what Reagan and the Bush’s did to the US. Remember when Clinton left office and there was a budget surplus?

I’m less angry now, venting is good. Fred, Bubba Jr., I suggest that if you guys want a real debate you should put up something on blogspot.com I’ll reply. I’m certainly not going to post my email here because there are too many loonies lurking about.

ElBubba rock on. Fred love your attitude. Guys, sounds like you’re more alike than you care to admit. Me, I’m a former drunk, liar, theif, loser who somehow crawled my way out of the whole I dug for myself. I’m neither a liberal or conservative and that helps me understand both sides of a debate, abortion- I see both sides, gun control- both sides, death penalty again I see both sides. Just because someone believes something different from what you might believe doesn’t make them alien or opposite from you. They just have a different point of view at this stage in their life. I don’t particularly agree with everything EL Bubba has to say, but neither do I agree with everything Fred has to say. Ain’t it great. I think both of y’all believe in personal responsibility, that’s a start.

Well Stone, welcome to the club. I also am neither a pub nor a dem so I get the right to poke fun at both sides as well. To clear the air for you though, I really like El bubba and respect his posts. We ARE alike on some issues and differ on others. That’s life. I “judged” him to be a dem based on his posts. Since he uses the dem propaganda more than the pub propaganda, I figure him to be a dem. Funny thing is that in my real life experiences, the fanatical pubs will let you know (as if you did not already) that they are fanatical pubs. However, the fanatical leftists lie and call themselves “moderates.’ The underlying theme being that the leftists are c** sure that their viewpoint IS “moderate.” But if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck……………….

I know that I AM butt stupid and that to judge someones positions on what they say proves it but……. Liem popeye, I ams what I ams. I don’t try to hide it.
