A 14-year old juvenile reported that just after 10 p.m. he was walking on a wooded path behind the tennis court at 100 Hampton Drive when he was jumped by five males. The suspects hit him several times and then took about two-bucks from him. He suffered bruises and cuts to the face. He was taken to Scottish Rite Hospital and checked out. He will be okay. The suspects were described as in their mid-20’s. The report said that they called out to him and told him to “come over” to their location. That would be the clue to turn it up a notch and get out of there—quickly.
A woman said that someone used a key to enter her apartment at 144 Allen Road and then took a vase and three cans of Coke.
This victim said that he believes he was pick-pocketed while shopping at the Kroger Store in the 4900 block of Roswell Road. Gone are his wallet and credit cards as well as $40 cash. Here is a good idea. Male or female, wear jeans and put your wallet or your debit/credit cards and cash in your FRONT pocket. It is hard to steal from your front pocket.
A woman, described as elderly, came into the Kroger Store on Dunwoody Club Drive, lined her cart with newspaper ads, as to restrict looking into it I guess, and filled the car with about 40 items totaling $181. She then kept on pushing the cart past the checkout and out the door. The employees, who actually recognized her from internal memos describing her as a shoplifter, followed her. They asked her to stop and come back inside but she refused, got into her van and left—without the cart of groceries. The tag is registered to an address which is less than a mile from the Kroger.

Alex was out with a girl. They went out on New Year’s Eve in once-fashionable Buckhead. They got into an argument and then, just after 4 a.m., drove back to Peachtree Dunwoody Road, where she lived. Alex said the girl’s brother drove up and her brother’s friend got out with an ASP baton, which is an expanding baton that hurts when expanded on your head. Alex did what was probably the smartest thing he did all night and ran off before any expansion could occur.
Oscar Alcantara-Rosas, age 26, from Northwood Drive, Sandy Springs, was arrested for his attempt to shoplift the following at the Target Store: Two leather jackets and four packs of watches. He concealed the four packs of watches in his pants and then put the jackets one, one on top of the other. Now picture this: Oscar looks like he’s on some serious steroids which by appearance alone, made it appear that he had serious anatomic deformities. So there he goes, walking out of the store looking like Frankenstein, with his arms sticking straight out because he can’t bend his arms. That attracts a good bit of attention to the security staff monitoring the cameras. On top of that, everyone he passed on the way out the door, said: “Hey look! That guy’s %#$@ is shaped like four packs of watches!!”

I’m back from NY city and I have some advice. When you are walking around, don’t make eye contact with the riff-raff. I asked my friend why people seemed to think I wanted drugs. Something about the way I look? She said “Don’t make eye contact with them!” People grab my attention and I look, I didn’t know. I’m a country boy. I went in to the city from Long Island, did the subway/train thing, and let me tell you, that is one cool city, and people walk everywhere. I walked all over the city, legs still hurt. Central Park was great! The result of all of that walking is that they don’t have all of the fat chicks you see here in Georgia. Those chicks probably eat biscuits and gravy but they walk’em off, and they walk fast, they don’t just stroll around flashing the cellulose and getting in your way. I flew back into ATL and it was FAT CITY, it was sort of disturbing, makes me think of my neighbor, she drives to her mailbox… I kept my wallet in my front pocket.

MY KIDS WERE ATTACKED-PLEASE HELP!!!
My name is Annette Gillham. My fiance Louis Grasso III and I need your help. We are desperate to put them men who attacked my children in jail where they belong. We are desperate for help Our local sheriff and police won’t help. The Bartow County Police Department know that they messed up and are trying to avoid us. PLEASE HELP!!!
Three men were directly involved. One was a look out and got away. Several people were at the house outside watching cheering them on. Our direct neighbors didn’t help my children either. ALL 3 MEN ARE OUT and on the loose. We are still struggling with Bartow County to put these men back in jail….AND find the man that got away. We are NOT being helped by Bartow County Sheriff’s Department. They only looked out for them selves. I was told today by the 2nd in command that he can’t help me. I don’t understand. These men are guilty of crimes they were not charged for. We live in fear and afraid to call for help because of how we have been treated and my children were attacked when we called for help. We are in fear of these men and don’t know what to do. PLEASE HELP US get the police to do their jobs. I need help ASAP!!!
These are dangerous people. We need help. My daughter, Meggan, lives in a constant state of fear. My son, Charles’, room is two feet away from hers and he aims to protect her and himself…and all of us. Louis has been one hell of a GUARD dog going from room to room keeping watch armed and ready to protect us all.
I still can not believe it happened. Charles stayed so calm and cool…..but after the police left…my mother went home..she was followed but lost them(she has one hell of a lead foot and knows these roads like the back of her hand) my brother stayed the rest of the night camped out downstairs with us and Louis..til Tuesday afternoon…THEN…Charles broke down..it was gut wrenching to watch, listen, hear and see him cry. He was SO determined that no one was going to get to Meg. They are closer than ever. I will never know their pain and torment or what they will now forever share in their hearts, minds and memories. I would take it all away if I could. If the police don’t finish the job of getting these guys put away…then I go to the news. The police of this county and state are only feel enraged if one of their own get hurt. I will not rest til they are punished and we get our day in court. I want justice for my kids!!!!

I could hear “them” screaming at the kids from outside when I was on the phone with Meg. .saying…”we know you in there and your going down…gonna f*** you up for messing with us…your dead…..” My mom beat us and the police to our home. My children were never rescued by the police. Our home was the scene of the crime and my children were inside being terrorized and the police never came to our house to rescue my kids from danger. These criminals went after my mom and my brother but the did nothing to them for it.. Our front door was hanging on by two little screws in a slide bolt. It is truly a miracle they didn’t get in. It was absolute torture hearing them and trying to drive home as fast as possible. Charles was on the phone with 911 on his cell and I was on the phone with Meggan on her cell. Hung up with her and made her call grandma (my mom) so she would know grandma was almost there. “They” put up an insane fight with the police…trying to bust out the windows in the police car…they had to separated into two cars. The whole time they were screaming at us “this ain’t over yet….we’ll be back to finish the job” We are ready to protect our kids. All our weapons are registered and we let the police know that since they are not doing there jobs we will defend ourselves….their response….nothing. I have decided and so have Louis and Charles….the next woman to get beat down and not be grateful for the help will just have to get beat down since honest law abiding citizens mean nothing to this county. The Haney guy lives two houses away. We notified his landlord of his crimes and we are seeking restitution for damages but he is still there. My daughter can see his yard from her room. The police won’t charge him and arrest him for the crimes he is guilty that they let him get away with. Meggan is a minor. An attempted break in and assault on a minor is a hell of a charge and the police should have done it. AND according to the 2nd in command, Charles is considered a minor because he is a senior in high school. Not to mention terroristic threats. The first officer here was abusive and cursed at us. The police were going to leave before coming to our house which was the place the crimes took place. After being told by Officer Dowdy “go to f*** bed..we got this) He never let us make statements or my kids make statements. We had to call to deputies out two different times New years day to finally get their statement taken. Still they are not charge with those crimes. Mom is still waiting for a deputy to go take her statement about what they did to hear. I will not let this go until I get what I want. Meggan doesn’t sleep. She just lays in bed with a death grip on baseball bat and an ax. Charles is amazing. My hero…His sister’s hero. He had to protect her because the police didn’t. He hid her and blocked anyone from being able to get her. She’s so little. He stood guard in front of her the whole time. He had to put a pillow over her face to keep her quiet. He told her to shut up…if she has to scream, yell or cry…do it in the pillow. They are much braver than I ever knew. It’s a miracle “they” couldn’t get in.
Description of the 3rd man that got away when last seen - Approximately 6 feet tall -160 pounds- wearing a dark hoodie/sweatshirt . He got into the passenger side of a silver 4-door Honda civic after verbally assaulting and threatening my mother and brother and split before police arrived - license plate number AAH- 6772
Pray for Meg, she’s very much NOT ok. Pray for Charles who protected his sister the best he could while they were home alone and their lives were threatened and the house, windows and front door was damaged shattered and attacked for almost 30 minutes while on the phone with me and Louis and 911 dispatch. We could hear everything that was happening to them while on the phone. We broke all traffic laws we had to to to get to them to save them. The police were taken so long to get them that I called my mother and brother who were five or ten minutes away and got their first..even before the police to help them. He and Meg are far braver than I ever knew. They had to listen to these men destroy windows and our front door while and screaming and yelling their threats to them while trying to get in to them.
WE NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Pray for Charles who protected his sister the best he could while they were home alone and their lives were threatened and the house, windows and front door was damaged shattered and attacked for almost 30 minutes while on the phone with me and Louis and 911 dispatch. We could hear everything that was happening to them while on the phone. We broke all traffic laws we had to to to get to them to save them. The police were taken so long to get them that I called my mother and brother who were five or ten minutes away and got their first..even before the police to help them. He and Meg are far braver than I ever knew. They had to listen to these men destroy windows and our front door while and screaming and yelling their threats to them while trying to get in to them.

He was SO determined that no one was going to get to Meg. They are closer than ever. I will never know their pain and torment or what they will now forever share in their hearts, minds and memories. I would take it all away if I could. If the police don’t finish the job of getting these guys put away…then I go to the news. The police of this county and state are only feel enraged if one of their own get hurt. I will not rest til they are punished and we get our day in court. I want justice for my kids!!!!

I could hear “them” screaming at the kids from outside when I was on the phone with Meg. .saying…”we know you in there and your going down…gonna f*** you up for messing with us…your dead…..” My mom beat us and the police to our home. My children were never rescued by the police. Our home was the scene of the crime and my children were inside being terrorized and the police never came to our house to rescue my kids from danger. These criminals went after my mom and my brother but the did nothing to them for it.. Our front door was hanging on by two little screws in a slide bolt. It is truly a miracle they didn’t get in. It was absolute torture hearing them and trying to drive home as fast as possible. Charles was on the phone with 911 on his cell and I was on the phone with Meggan on her cell. Hung up with her and made her call grandma (my mom) so she would know grandma was almost there. “They” put up an insane fight with the police…trying to bust out the windows in the police car…they had to separated into two cars. The whole time they were screaming at us “this ain’t over yet….we’ll be back to finish the job” We are ready to protect our kids. All our weapons are registered and we let the police know that since they are not doing there jobs we will defend ourselves….their response….nothing. I have decided and so have Louis and Charles….the next woman to get beat down and not be grateful for the help will just have to get beat down since honest law abiding citizens mean nothing to this county. The Haney guy lives two houses away. We notified his landlord of his crimes and we are seeking restitution for damages but he is still there. My daughter can see his yard from her room. The police won’t charge him and arrest him for the crimes he is guilty that they let him get away with. Meggan is a minor. An attempted break in and assault on a minor is a hell of a charge and the police should have done it. AND according to the 2nd in command, Charles is considered a minor because he is a senior in high school. Not to mention terroristic threats. The first officer here was abusive and cursed at us. The police were going to leave before coming to our house which was the place the crimes took place. After being told by Officer Dowdy “go to f*** bed..we got this) He never let us make statements or my kids make statements. We had to call to deputies out two different times New years day to finally get their statement taken. Still they are not charge with those crimes. Mom is still waiting for a deputy to go take her statement about what they did to hear. I will not let this go until I get what I want. Meggan doesn’t sleep. She just lays in bed with a death grip on baseball bat and an ax. Charles is amazing. My hero…His sister’s hero. He had to protect her because the police didn’t. El Bubba…NYC is a great place that everyone should experience at least once. It is impressive. Your comment about not looking anyone in the eye made me laugh…that is something my sister always said whenever we went into “The City”. You almost sound like a native NYer referring to Manhattan like that! Glad to hear you had a good trip. After experiencing the ease of commuting via the LIRR and the subway system, makes you wonder why the ATL metro area never pursued a heavy rail system, yes?
Did you check out the LI beaches? I know it was bitterly cold last week, but the ocean is a sight to behold, regardless of the season. Tell us some more about your trip. My dad grew up on the upper East Side and Central Park was his playground. How cool is that?

LI, I generally don’t care much for cities but NY is something to see. Subways and trains were friendly and efficient. Everything about NY was impressive. Grand Central Station etc. I’m going to go back again in good weather. I have this goal of fishing in Central Park. Yes you can, I asked, it’s catch and release. I did see beaches in Long Island, more fishing needed. Also, I seem to have this extra edge with the ladies there, they just love it when I say things like “Yes ma’am”. And those hot dogs! Yumm! I never felt un-safe and the city was clean. El Bubba

Did you see the police station down near Bubba Gump Shrimp (Times Square area)? It was lit up all kinds of cool like. Show me yours and I’ll show you mine. (pictures) I’d like to see where you went. It amazes me how different people’s heads know differnet things and it also amazes me of different people’s perspectives, as far as what they think a picture should be taken of…and the angle they caught…just everything. All you gotta do is get them developed and opt for getting the pics on a cd, also. Everybody has special prices for after the holidays, so click the “x” to close your internet, grab the camera, carkeys, chapstick, money and go…I’ll be waiting.
p.s. yes, I am worried about the missing girl too. doesn’t sound good…even if she was unharmed by people, the exposure…yes I am worried about her too. also, i’ve been slacking off on the computer usage lately too. And I did wonder where you’ve been, when I checked here each time, there was a noticeable absence of you and Fred, so I figured “why bother?” but now I’ll check back more often…for my new internet buds. :)

If your children are still traumatized by this event, please consider getting them some professional counseling. I understand you’re angry and upset, so you are probably not the right person, at this point, to help them get past this. My daughter was mugged at gun point at a Burger King a few years ago during a robbery (she was a customer, not an employee), and was quite shaky for several months. She didn’t WANT to go to counseling, but it ended up helping quite a bit.
Please consider it. I suspect that feelings are running quite high in your household right now — your kids need a neutral party to vent to, who isn’t constantly crying, “Oh, how traumatized you are!”

I didn’t “get a mugging” out of all of that - I was just sharing something that had happened to my own daughter that was traumatic, involved a violent crime, and was helped by counseling. Sorry if it added to the confusion :-)
Frankly, I pretty much skimmed most of the post, it’s pretty hysterical — it didn’t make much sense to me, either, except that it seemed like some sort of attempted home invasion (for unspecified reasons). But what I did zero in on was the fact that a) there are children involved, b) that they were severely traumatized by the event and c) inferred that Mama Annette probably wasn’t helping things with her highly-charged indignation.
Thus, my suggestion, for what it’s worth, for professional counseling.

Ok, thanks. I was confused, but less so now. I wasn’t taking a “shot” at you, as what you suggested was spot on. LOL I didn’t skim her post, I carefully read it three times trying to figure out what was going on. I t was long on weirdness and short on facts. About the only thing I could figure out is that the brave brother is 18 (or older) and a senior in high school.
Somewhere in that story two people were in separate cop cars and busting out the windows (pretty hard to do in the back of a cop car) and were let go, I suppose. There was a reference to women getting beat down, and well, just other things. Not to beat down a dead horse but this whole thing is just plain weird.
On another note, my daughters school president tried to fly off an 8th story balcony Monday night. His wings didn’t work and he’s now taking a dirt nap. I wonder why he did it. As a man blessed not only with higher education but also advanced degrees one would assume he knew about the law of gravity. 9.8 meters per second squared, (I never figured out how you square a second but WTF). Maybe he just needed a hug.
