No such thing as a motorcyle fender bender
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
I was on the way home yesterday around 7 p.m. because I can’t get enough of crime so I just stay at work! Actually the storms screwed up the roads so quickly that I couldn’t escape. When I did leave I got on GA 400 at Northridge and went north. Now for those of you who were also on 400 about that time you may have noticed that it was raining slightly, just after the big monsoon. I’m cruising in the left lane, normal speed, when I see this motorcycle in my rear-view mirror. He’s about a mile back but driving so fast that I immediately noticed.
This guy was going about 100 mph if he was going anything. It was still raining. Cars were spread out all over the lanes and the road was soaked. It was so blatantly reckless that as he came up behind me I said to myself that I was looking at someone about to die. When he passed me I could see this young girl clinging on for life. He changed lanes so fast that he was totally at the mercy of whoever decided to change lanes in front of him. Luckily for this fool, everyone stayed put until the gradual slowdown where the lanes reduce up north of Windward.
I have worked some bad accidents with motorcycles and there is no such thing as a fender-bender. I kept thinking about that girl on the back. If I were her father and saw that I would open up a serious can on that boy. If he wanted to kill himself for a rush, the least he could have done was call a cab for that girl because I’m sure she had no idea what was in store for her yesterday afternoon. I hope she wore him out with her helmet when she was able to get off that bike.
