Proper care and feeding of your entourage

Have you noticed the upsurge in the number of athletes and musicians who now employ entourages? Entourage defined is: family circle; circle of friends, leader’s entourage; window frame, surrounded by slugs that won’t work.

Pacman Jones has an entourage. His entourage got into trouble the other morning, just after 4 a.m., after an argument with three other men over a dancer. Pacman is currently suspended by the NFL for his little run-ins with the law. His cell phone has three bonding companies on speed dial.

But, this isn’t about Pacman. Instead, it’s about his entourage. You may think its simple to start and maintain an entourage but in fact, the logistics can be a nightmare. What about the care and feeding of your entourage? Who does what? You need to support your entourage. Take an entourage of five for example. Here’s a breakdown of expenses.

Food $4,655 (monthly)

Other items under food and beverage $6,055

Quarters for the intake cell at the county jail $450

Bullets and lessons on how to shoot a gun holding it sideways $798

Distribution of $1 bills (x5) $1754

Retainer fee for lawyers $7,600 ($8500 for lawyeres with ponytails)

How do you try out for an entourage? Like any other sport, entourages have the minor leagues. For B, C, and D-list celebrities who really don’t get noticed, the minor-league entourage becomes valuable. For instance, if the B, C, or D-list celebrity is having dinner and nobody notices him, the clever entourage will split up and take turns walking up to the B, C, or D-list celebrity asking for autographs and thus creating curiosity among the other restaurant patrons. A good entourage can make it to the bigs in just a few years if they develop good work ethic and learn to shoot straight.

Good entourage personnel are not easy to find. The hours are obviously not 9 to 5 so it’s important that entourage members stay in shape and be ready to be in peak form between 2 and 4 a.m. The pay is low when you first get into the game. Entourage members pay their dues, sometimes for years, until they reach the A-list big leagues. They spent many nights entourage-ing at the Waffle House before they reached Club Blaze or Minxx Gentleman’s Club and Lounge in Vegas. Most A-list entourage members will tell you that they weren’t overnight sensations. Many don’t make it until the 7th or 8th gunfight.

Like tennis or competitive canasta, image is everything. That is why at least one entourage member should have a driver’s license that isn’t currently suspended. There is nothing more pitiful than your entourage taking a bus to the clubs. After all, what kind of example would that be for the kids?

At what point does it go from being a gang or mob to an entourage? Is it only once the media starts calling it that? Does it depend on how much money you’re spending? Does it depend on how many times you’ve been arrested?

Let’s see, you make a couple million dollars a year, and what do you do for entertainment? Well, you can afford to go to the opera. Or fly to Rio. Or buy a boat and cruise about. No? No! You go to a totally skank, low-rent strip club after midnight in a totally skank, low-rent part of town with an “entourage” of totally skank, low-rent lowlifes and gangster wannabes. At what point does this cross over into parody? LMAO here …

“Entourage” is the term used in the AJC article on June 18th. In the June 19th article, they are now being referred to as Pacman’s “Security Detail.” Apparently they’ve been promoted!!

This is a racist article and statements by you white people. No one says anything when it is a group of white people. It just so happens to be a black man, with a group of black people. BTW, he has never been charged with anything at all…even the past incidents that his name came up in, he was never charged. It is the fact that he is black and rich. Now, tell me how would you feel if you just happen to be white and rich and you are out with a groupd of your friends (security detail), you left the place to go home and sleep. The next thing you know, your name is on the news and police want to talk to you…you are like “For what?” What did I do? That only crime you are guilty of is being white and rich and well known. You see what happens to each and every black athlete. Sad isn’t it?

Dee, the man has been arrested something like 10 times in the last 2 years..So he must be doing something wrong..As a general rule, the police don’t just point to someone & say, you’re under arrest..As the old saying goes, where there’s smoke, there’s fire..Or maybe he just needs to find new security people…

A gang becomes an entourage when they are accomanying someone famous and/or wealthy. The word ‘gang’ doesn’t sound near as important as ‘entourage’. It also helps us determine when someone has made it to the big time. Same people, better job title.

Dee,

Why do black people have to take their gaks out with them when they go drinking? Don’t any of them have balls anymore? Why do they need that little piece of power to feel comfortable?

Actually, Dee is sort of right, it is a race thing. You don’t see too many white athletes hitting the strip clubs at 4 in the morning, fighting over a stripper, then chasing others and shooting each other on the highway. Most of them are at home taking care of their families. And I don’t mean numerous baby-mammas, it’s usually ONE wife and THEIR kids.

You don’t see Brian Finneren with an entourage, or Patrick Kerney, or Keith Brooking, etc…..AND I can also bet they aren’t carrying weapons either. So, yea, I think it’s a black thing.

Entourage is latin for “Large Group of Thugs”.

Dee is not right. Patrick Kerney’s entourage raped a woman in his home when he was “asleep”. But the AJC and other bias media outlets would rather focus on the imperfections of a specific race. ONLY IN AMERICA!!

The thing I want to know is: why do so many of these “entourages” include criminals?

Then again, I’m reminded of an old saying:

“Birds of a feather flock together.”

BTW, Dee, now that Punkman has been charged with TWO felonies, what do you think of your hero now?

When in Rome…….and the media does’t focus on the imperfections of a specific race ……

They don’t have to, that specific race points it out all by themselves, and they WANT THE ATTENTION, because it makes them cooler to the thugs and the thug-wannabees…..

Great role models for the younger kids of a specific race. No wonder they make up more than 1/2 of the jail population.

There are ignorant people in any race group. (We are all people) with “certain” groups there is an enhanced focus by the bias media which is used to enhance the negativity for the mainstream entertainment & judgment. Pacman may not be the best roll model. How about the rest of the NFL??? There are hundreds of great African American roll models in the sport football alone.

CrookbytheBook, I conversely would add — with “certain groups” (your term) there is an “enhanced focus” by such groups in favor of aberrant, lawless, and counter-productive behaviors and lifestyles. No, certainly, not all of such “certain groups” (again, using your term) are so inclined — most probably aren’t, as I will gladly admit. But there certainly is an “enhanced” tendency to engage in those behavious all out of proportion to their representation in this society.

Is it just me or does an entourage seem a little gay. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. However, if I called up 6 of my closest friends and asked them if they wanted to spend their Saturday afternoon at Lenox mall shopping for shoes and hats I would get laughed at. What are they 14? What guy hangs out at the mall with a bunch of dudes?

One VERY important thing to point out for those who scream “the race card” over and over…to the point we think it’s to blame for everything that’s happening in the world…War in Iraq - call the race card! Fat people walking around eating triple ice cream cones wondering why they’re overweight - call the race card! Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it! My point exactly! Anyway, those who act ignorant and do stupid things to get themselves put in jail are viewed differently than the others…whether said or not, we all feel that way. You probably do too but you would NEVER say anything negative about your own race! Why not…if someone is ignorant, they’re just ignorant. Plain and simple. It is what it is.

BUT THE MOST DIFFICULT THING TO UNDERSTAND IS…those who have been locked up or sell drugs actually move UP on the totem pole of coolness. What other race does that! The more educated you are, the less cool you are…WHY! That makes NO sense! So when I hear “it’s a black thing, you wouldn’t understand”…I AGREE! Never will…and ain’t trying to.

Does the term troll mean anything to you?

“Dee” (if that is your real name to pull a line from Dr. Strangelove) comes on to various blogs and injects race into the discussion and then vanishes as then everyone begins to refute what “Dee” has posted. This for some reason makes Dee feel good or important, etc.

Dee was obviously wrong for trying to defend this dude. I’ve seen Pacman in person, entourage in tow (about a strong 15 to 20 of the meanest looking dudes you will ever see), and it’s obvious he needs to change who he hangs around, but with that being said that gives none of you the right or the power to get on these blogs and let the world know how truly disgusting you are. I’m a black man and it is very troubling to hear how all of my white counterparts on these boards really feel once giving a “private” forum. Question: Are you actually voicing your true feelings to the one black person you know or are you decidedly mute until you are in the comforts of your own home and behind your computer screen? As much of a trouble maker that Pacman may be, you and your ignorant, vile, disgusting bigoted commenting selves are truly no different and are just as detriment to society as any harden criminal or person you call “thug”. I pity all of you and will continue to be pleasant to all people because the only race that matters is the Human race.

And now we have the mindless, violent “Juneteenth” mob in Texas beating the car passenger (who had done nothing wrong, not that it matters) to death. No need to say more on this one … .

Oh, wait! There’s more! According to CNN, from the Milwaukee “Juneteenth,” uh, “celebration” —

“A large group leaving the area after the festival ended around 6 p.m. attacked at least two cars, and one of the drivers was pulled from his vehicle and beaten … a large fight started in the area about the same time between groups of girls and then grew larger as more people got involved … Police in riot gear attempted to disperse the crowd … An officer wearing a face shield who tried to break up the fight was hit in the face, the shield shattered and the officer was cut by the shards, requiring stitches …”

What, there weren’t any Korean grocers available nearby to loot, instead? Which one of you apologists is going to step up and defend THIS trend of behavior? What exactly ARE white folk supposed to think?

I am an African American female and I say that it’s past time for our people to wake up and see things for what they really are. Thugs like “PacMan” are a detriment to our race. I’m not a first generation college kid. My parents and grandparents each have advanced degrees. I grew up in a two parent home and was never on welfare. All of my siblings (5) have at least a Bachelor degree and most hold Master Degrees (3). Still, I am often judged unfairly because of the antics of Pacman and the likes. We as a race have to speak out against things like this because it contributes to the labeling and low expectations of all of us.

I went to Hardee’s this morning and ordered a ‘Chocolate Overload’ milkshake. The manager said the milkshake machine was not ready because people do not usually order milkshakes in the morning. I had no idea. I like to drink milk and I like chocolate. The funny thing is I do not like strawberry milk, but do like strawberries. Go figure that one out!

He said he could pour some of the mix in a cup with ice and it would be like a chocolate milk. I have never ordered a chocolate milk at Hardee’s before so I said, “okay.” He charged me the same price as a milkshake, but it was not a milkshake. It was a cup of milkshake mix with ice.

I pushed my father’s wheelchair to the table nearest the painting of the barn and gave him a cracker to munch on while I ate my loaded breakfast burrito and loaded biscuit n’ gravy bowl. It was too much food and Dad kept going on and on about being hungry. I said, “Dad you should have thought bout that before we left the house. You said something light, so I got you a cracker to eat at Hardee’s.”

My dad has got a bad hand and he cannot eat too big a meal with his other so he has to eat small things because he cannot move it so well. It takes him a long time to eat big things and I would not want to sit in the restaurant for very long because it is very cold in there and the windows are always foggy so you cannot see out of the windows.

I like the loaded biscuit n’ gravy bowl at Hardee’s. I have an idea that I want to mail to them to make. I want them to invent a big biscuit with gravy inside of it sort of like those soup in a bread bowls they sell at Applebee’s. I only get to go to Applebee’s on my special days, and I always get the soup in a bread bowls when I go there. I eat at Hardee’s a lot, so if they could make me a gravy in a big biscuit bowl it would be like every day is a special day for me. I do not know if Hardee’s would give me an award for such a great idea, but I am sure they will thank me when they see how many I eat! They will be rich!

I ate the loaded biscuit n’ gravy bowl first, then I thought I would try the ‘chocolate overload’ milkshake that was actually just mix in a cup with ice. It did not taste very good. It did not taste cold like a milkshake. It was sort of like butter milk with really dark brown chocolate sauce. I thought it may need the ice to be crushed somehow so the ice pieces would be smaller like in a milk shake. I poked the ice with my straw but they would run away from my straw and not let me crush them. I used dad’s key the crush them because he has one long one that goes in the Oldsmobile. It worked okay, but I accidentally poked a hole in the bottom of my cup and began to pour out of my cup. If it had been a milkshake I do not think it would have come out so fast.

Dad stuck his hand in it when the puddle moved to his side of the table. I said, “Don’t try to clean it up dad. I will get some towels from the bath room.” He said, “Don’t worry about me – Go, Go get some towels boy!” I did not realize it then but he was smiling ear-to-ear as the uneven table was sending the milkshake directly into his lap.

I ran into the bath room, but could not find any paper towels as they had wind machines to dry your hands. I went outside and there was the manager standing at our table asking where I was. My dad was sticking hand back-and-forth from his mouth to inside his pants eating up the chocolate milkshake. Since it was not really a milkshake it was not light brown like a milkshake, but dark brown like a chocolate syrup. The manager thought my dad was doing something gross with himself. He asked me to leave with my father immediately.

I did not get to eat my burrito until we got to the park. Dad said the ants were biting him because he had a lot of chocolate milkshake drink mix in his pants and ants like sweets.

After that we went home and the day was fairly uneventful after that. The loaded breakfast burritos are not very good when they get cold and the ‘chocolate overload’ milkshakes are not very good when they are not cold enough. It is kind of like the story about ‘Goldilock and the Three Bears’ when she ate the soups. Luckily the loaded biscuit n’ gravy bowl was just right. Wish me luck on my invention!

My prediction - Pacman will be arrested and while in jail will pull a Paris Hilton and discover that God has a higher meaningful purpose for him and will promise to emerge a better human being. This excuse will be used due to all of the other celebrities have overused the rehabilitation ruse. Of course the media will be there to follow his every move, analyze his every word when he emerges a free man so he can pursue his lawsuits against the NFL for being the cause of his demise - and subsequent rebirth as a holy man - and the streets will swarm with male tweeners wearing his replica jersey while sadly the image of Pat Tillman fades to obscurity. We can only hope that the second coming of Pacman will emerge in the 2007 draft so that certain components of society can refocus their affections on yet another bad boy (oops, sorry Dee - bad man).

I agree with Dee to a certain extent in that the Media does actively go after black athletes. I have long complained about the uneven number of black stories vs white when it comes to getting in trouble with the law, but unless we as a people make noise about things like that (instead of Rap lyrics). Society has stepped on and put down blacks for so long that it;s pretty much okay now. Black Buffoonery clouds the TV programs along with all these idiots and their $20,000 blood-diamond chains. WE BLACKS have to stop the ignorance of our people instead of sitting back and shaking our heads in disgust. The caucasians look out for each other regardless while we would rather flaunt the fact that we are doing better than the next guy. Time to change the thinking and time to turn our backs on idiots like Pacman and his crew. They wouldn’t be talking about Pacman if Pacman wasn’t giving them something to talk about. This cat stopped getting the benefit of the doubt after arrest # 5 with me. I mean some people are just a lost cause..and he is one of them. The stupidity is simply breathtaking…Taking a trashbag full of money to a strip club to simply give away when there are people in your where you grew up that are struggling to pay their rent. This guy wants to be a somebody but only makes himself look smaller in the process. I love my people and I support a lot of what we do..this guy ain’t one of them!
