Crime highs & lows
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A man reported that someone used his check-card number to purchase just over $700 in merchandise from Starbucks. (That amounts to almost five Latte-Mocha- Sumatra-Bangladesh-Java…….things.)
A woman said that she was out of town for an extended amount of time. When she returned, she found that someone used her credit card, she deactivated earlier, to make a number of purchases totaling over $9000.
Someone accessed the victim’s account number (bank) and made just over $6.00 in fraudulent charges. (This thief has serious issues with low self-esteem.)
A recipe for trouble For you men thinking the grass is greener…… A woman called and said that her husband had an affair with another woman back in February. Apparently the husband and his wife reunited and life went on—until the other party, a 58-year old woman decided she wouldn’t fade into the sunset. She has made numerous calls to the victim, who is the wife of the cheatin’ man, telling her various things and implied threats such as “You better look over your shoulder. She later found a boiled rabbit in her pot of Nigerian Peanut Soup. ( I made that last one up—the rabbit part. The soup is real.) The victim, for some reason, didn’t want to leave the letters, she has been receiving, with the property room as requested by the officer.
*Nigerian Peanut Soup 4 cups chicken broth 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced ½ cup chopped green bell pepper ½ cup chopped onion ½ cup crunch peanut butter In 1-quart saucepan, add broth and chili peppers and bring to a boil. Stir in bell pepper and onion and return to boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and let simmer until veggies are tender, about ten minutes. Reduce heat to lowest temp, add peanut butter and cook, stirring constantly, until peanut butter is melted and the mix is well blended. Yuk
