Burrito brothers try to skip out on meal
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
News from the smart set:
— Two customers had a fine Mexican dinner at a Roswell Road restaurant before running off to avoid paying the bill. An employee of the restaurant ran after one, and got a hold of him long enough to get his wallet, ID and so on. The suspect obviously didn’t think things through. Mexican food is the last thing you want to eat just before running. Coupled with the fact that he weighed in at over 300 pounds, it was just a bad, bad decision. Do you have a visual on this? Not pretty.
— A 22-year old male was arrested at a Sandy Springs Place grocery store after he tried to lift a $2 can of Kiwi Scuff Cover by putting it in his shirt pocket. He went to Roswell jail. No condition on his shoes.
— A man was arrested for possession of marijuana after an officer saw him walking in a high-crime area. The officer noted the man was sweating profusely and stopped him because he thought the man was ill. Turns out he was just sweatin’ and stoned. (Sounds like a Willie Nelson song.)
— The Summer Lake Drive victim said someone got into the residence through an unlocked window, took various items of clothing, put them in the bathtub and poured bleach on them.
— A man said that two men came over to his Roswell Road apartment to beat him up. He let them in and they beat him up. The suspects are brothers. The victim said he thinks they were mad because he was talking to a girlfriend of one. (NOTE: Prior information can be very important in critical situations. In this case, it appears to me, that if you know that someone is coming over to beat you up, you might not want to answer the door.)
— A man entered a therapeutic message office on Cliftwood Drive, thinking it was the other kind of therapy massage place. He offered the employee money for sex. When he realized that was not going well, he became angry and grabbed the victim by the arm and eventually ran out the back door. He did not recover the money prior to his exit.
— The Glenridge Drive victim’s credit card and $40 cash were taken from her purse, located in an unlocked filing cabinet in her office area. DON’T do this unless you can lock it up. They will come in and check under the desk, desk filing drawers and then the file cabinets. The credit cards were later used for more than $1,000.
