Screaming meanies
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A 21-year-old female was arrested after she drove up to the scene of a traffic pullover and began yelling profanities at the two officers who had stopped a car at Kingsport Drive and subsequently found some marijuana.
The woman cursed at the officers, left and then a short time later returned with another female who, along with the first female, cursed the officers.
The two very mean women went to jail, where I’m sure they yelled at the people there and other prisoners.
This is a case for the lawn ranger
Around 9 p.m. the victim said he found a man in his Old Woodbine Road driveway trying to load the victim’s lawn mower onto a pickup truck. The victim asked the man what he was doing. The man replied he was returning the lawn mower. The perp walked over and ripped off his tag so the victim couldn’t identify it, told the victim he was homeless and then left in the white truck.
Carrying the tools of his trade
Around 1:50 a.m. at I-285 and Roswell Road, following a traffic stop, a 29-year old man was arrested after the officer found the man’s driver’s license was suspended. The officer noted the man was very nervous and eventually found out why. The man was a convicted felon. The car contained two ski masks, eight flex cuffs, three hand guns, black BDU pants and seven cell phones.
This would be very consistent with items used in home invasions. The man is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving with a suspended license and a traffic charge. An extensive follow-up will be conducted.

Why is that a wealthy person I know got a speeding ticket on top of a suspended license and used another persons name to hide the license issue (but still got caught) managed to get it taken care of so to speak? Let it happen to someone like me who doesn’t have so much political influence & I’d be under the jail! Just Curious Steve, how much of this happens in your view and is it fair in your opinion?

Steve,
I am very happy to see all the traffic that Roswell Rd is getting from the new black police cruisers in SS. It’s going to raise my property values by cleaning up an area long in need of more police officers. I always say that if you haven’t done anything wrong, you should feel much safer with all the added police around. That being said, I wanted to ask you a quick question about proper behaviour you expect from your officers. I was wondering if it is permissable for police cars to excessively speed down Roswell without their lights on. Last night I was turning left out of the Publix parking lot (The Publix by the River) onto Roswell Rd. There were two cars approaching from the right, but they were both a long ways away. I turned left into the left hand lane, and when I looked in my rear view, there was a car coming up on my bumper extremely fast. I quickly jumped into the turn lane and I was shocked to see a SS Police car go zooming by probably doing 70mph. He just continued along, and I caught up to the officer at Northridge, where he zoomed off as the light turned green. He was speeding entirely too fast. I caught up again at the long, long red light at Dalrymple. I finally got close enough to where I wasn’t seeing a black blur. It was 10:50 and the car was number 005.
I am just concerned about the safety of what I saw happening. Going that fast down Roswell is not safe for anyone. With so many joggers and people crossing the street near the QT, it can’t be allowable to let your police force go that fast down Roswell. I was just extremely concerned, and I thought you should know.

Mike, as a Police Officer in another jurisdiction I can honestly say that there are times when an Officer must speed without lights and sirens. For instance, you dont want to announce that your on your way to a suspect for certain crimes in progress. With that said I am not making an excuse for the officer, because I do not know that circumstances that may or may not have been involved. Also, the Officer is to use due regard and not endanger the public. Hope this helps.
