Dancers won’t be getting too close
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Latest news on Sandy Springs Police Department rollout on Saturday:
Today is best described as chaos, similar to that scene when Godzilla comes out of the water and everyone starts looking up, screaming and holding their hands over their head — like that in itself would repel Godzilla.
Anyway, the uniform lady is back refitting and delivering items. We’re waiting on the UPS truck to arrive. I’m anxious about it and I don’t even know what its bringing. Whatever it is, it was something we needed.
Anxiety spreads like fire. The last-minute reports and forms are arriving. We’re moving from 784 Roswell Road to 5995 Barfield Drive at the same time, like we need that. All of this is going on at the same time. Last-minute meetings were concluded as to what squads would do what when we start at midnight.
Media folks are calling for ride-along stories. Council folks want to ride in their districts. Everyone wants to get their hands on the first arrest report.
Someone is hours away from being a trivia question.
We got a list of the city codes. They include 12-4-3 which is “No dog “DOO-DOO” on public grounds, owners remove waste. The word DOO DOO is written in.
More laws:
— No more than three false alarms per year. (Fines!)
— No urban camping
— No solicitation
— No solicitation by accosting another
— No solicitation by forcing oneself upon the company of another
— No treasure hunts for promotion of sale of merchandise, etc
— No reproduction of any MLB without the express written consent of Major League Baseball
— No false representation to police (like that one won’t get broken real quick)
Adult Entertainment Operation
— No operation 4-8 a.m. Sundays 2:55 a.m. 9 a.m.
— Dancers must be 4 feet away (that hurt didn’t it?)
— No physical contact (this doesn’t apply to the bouncers when you get out of line)
— Payment must be hand to hand (opposed to hand to thigh)
— No patrons on dancing stage (This applies to my friend Skeet, see bouncers above)
— All areas lighted
— No windows on adult establishment buildings (a la Amsterdam)
— And, finally, no alcohol! (I foresee a rise in “Open Container” cases in the parking lot)

No patrons dancing on stage?? Geez, that should have been a rule at my bachelor party. I just didn’t dance very well. Although, there was physical contact just before the dance with several topless dancers.

Looks like the Taliban is alive and well in Sandy Springs. I’ll stick with Atlanta any day. I will make it a point to never spend a dime there.

I’m happy for Sandy Springs. Hopefully the time will come that the dancing facilities will seek other venues.
In Chambodia we don’t have them, don’t want them and really don’t need them. Miss them? Nope.
Might make the city a better place when the dancers will have to close shop. What about the jobs?
Sure it is an industry where jobs are created, but one the demeans women. Sorry guy, but I can’t buy the argument. Spend the dime in Atlanta, or maybe even way up on I-85… You can’t miss the place…

Bottom line is, if you don’t like it…DON’T GO IN THOSE PLACES. If you don’t like a movie, do you go, NO. If you don’t like a resturant, do you go, NO. Let those who want to go do their own thing, do it. No pun intended.

What a joke. Who put a bunch bible thumping stiffs in charge of a city? They should all go back into their church and leave the law making to adults. Welcome to bible belt….. whats next another Prohibition amendment or more IMMINENT DOMAIN! How many planks are in the Communist Manifesto again? Good thing they are protecting MLB though.

It’s not demeaning to the women that choose to dance there. If you feel it is, then dont dance there. Too many prudes in Sandy Springs. Might as well be quakers. Hope ya’ll aint like that with your husbands and wives behind closed doors.

It really amazes me that the first thing SS wants to get involved in is a fight over nude dancing. Have the folks that have been charged with running this new jurisdiction not seen other places make the same mistake. What ends up happening is the city spends millions of dollars in legal fees defending thier ordinances from challenges by well funded strip club financiers.
No good can come of it. It is politically driven and silly. Just save the money for the truly important things a city must do.
Geez…..
