Burglar really takes the cake
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Closing out 2005 with a few from the blotter:
— The victim said someone kicked in the front door to her Morgan Falls Road apartment. A safe containing several pieces of jewelry was taken. The burglar also ate part of a cake in the kitchen.
— The assault victim said that at 11:30 p.m. he was leaving his business and got in to his car when someone began shooting at him. He recognized the shooter as a man who has done computer work for him and, also, was in a current money dispute with him. The suspect shot at the victim several times. The victim pulled his gun and shot back. The victim drove his car north on Medlock Bridge Road, did a U-turn aand drove to the Fulton Police northeast precinct. The victim had a cut on him , meaning he was lucky because the officer found five bullet holes to the driver’s window and four more into the driver’s door. The suspect is driving a maroon or dark green Chevrolet.
— A Brighton Point resident was charged with violating the Fulton County noise ordinance after the officer had to make two visits and reported music “loud enough to rattle the walls.” The resident had been given a previous warning by the officer 30 minutes earlier.
— A Windward Parkway restaurant customer didn’t like the oysters he got. He wanted to talk to the manager and an employee talked to him. During the discussion the man allegedly threw a glass, hitting the victim below the knee and causing a 4-inch cut that required medical treatment. The patron left in a white Nissan. The license plate was recorded. Charges are pending completion of the investigation.
— The resident reported that someone dumped the body of a deer onto his driveway. The deer had been shot and dressed out. The resident said this is the second time in the past two months a dead deer has been dumped on his driveway. The resident said he in involved in a dispute over barking dogs with his neighbors. He said he didn’t know if this was related.

Sandy Springs Rez, This is how we normal people type…not in all CAPS. Do not scream at Steve. If you don’t like what he has to say, simply do not read his column, ya know? That’s only “1” of the many great things about America. Also, do “your part” to help Sandy Springs before you “A*-UME” Steve is not doing his. So there!

hi juliana “sandy springs rez,” maybe you should do a little more “investigating” yourself before flinging uninformed comments at dt. rose. for example, from his bio:
What I do: I publish a weekly crime activity report in north Fulton and serve as liaison for the residential neighborhood watch programs participants.
there you go, sweetheart. better luck next time!
and by the way, dt. rose, can’t those csi crime lab guys lift dna or dental prints off the cake and track the burglar?! c’mon! i thought all those crime dramas were true to life! ;]

Hey “Sandy Springs Rez”, why are you bashing Dt. Rose about not doing his jobs and then to bring up Sandy Springs???? Did I see where anything pointed directly to your city? I think Dt. Rose does a fantastic job and contributes a lot of his time to the community as a whole, not just to one particular area. If you would take the time to truly read and take to heart the many bad things that go on in our society today, many of which are entertaining by the stupidiy of the criminal and situation at hand, then maybe you wouldn’t be so critical and quick to judge.

Intead of telling others what they should be doing, why don’t you get off your duff and help out yourself? Or are you waiting for others to do it all for you? There are plenty of things private citizens can do to help their communities other than acting like a fish wife.

To the person who said that Steve is not doing his job…Steve writes the stories so citizens will know what is going on in their community to educate them on how to stay away from some trouble that could harm them, so I think he “is” doing his job… Steve, most of us respect what you are doing…

SANDY SPRINGS REZ must be a liberal democrat. One of those that wants to BMW, (b***, moan, whine), about what other people do, while offering no practical solution, or effort of their own. Bill Mangum aka The Old Coot.

When I read these columns and watch the news, I am glad to find out what’s going on out there. Just think, if I didn’t I probably would not be alive today, because I never thought people did so stupid things for absolutely no reason. Just senseless!! My generation, we could go to Walmart or Kroger in the middle of night or leave our windows open when asleep. Thanks goodness for the writers and newscasters.

Bill, I’m a liberal Democrat who lives here in Sandy Springs and I love Det. Steve! Why does SANDY SPRINGS REZ have to be Democrat???

I think your comments about Steve are ridiculous. If anything, his column is very helpful in making the community aware of crimes that happen around us. We’d likely be unaware of most of these occurences, even though some happen right in our own neighborhoods. He’s always very informative & has a wonderful sense of humor, to boot! And what’s wrong with being able to read something lighthearted in a newspaper full of tragedies and bad news???
