Beer run never got off the ground
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Officers received a domestic violence call from Innsbruck Drive and spoke to the complainant, who said his ex-wife struck him several times following an argument that started when she asked him to go get some beer.
He said he didn’t have any money and she got mad, snatched his hat off of his head and hit him several times with it. The ex-wife was charged with battery/domestic violence.
Please, don’t mail your bills from home
We received a report in the 1200 block of West Garmon Road that a female was seen going through mail boxes. The witness also saw a van and an SUV.
The witness said he saw a white sports car and two other cars pull up and circle the area. The SUV, possibly a Suburban, had the words “Tint-O-Magic” written on the back window.
The female began going through other mail boxes. We did get a tag number on the van and the case is being looked into. The U.S. Postal Inspectors were also notified. It is not known if mail is missing.
This is a good example of why you need to put mail that contains checks or any sensitive or negotiable financial information in a secured post office mailbox.
Making it easy for the bad guys
Someone entered the Glenridge Place victim’s garage through the open door and apparently took a brick and threw it through the window of her BMW. The perp took several items from her purse that was left in the car.
Cabbie fights for life, fares
On Glenridge Drive, a cabbie reported that when he brought a fare to his destination, the man argued over the money and then hit the driver in the face. They began to fight.
The suspect’s girlfriend jumped on the driver and tried to choke him. The driver dropped $160 cash from his pockets. When he tried to recover the money, the suspect kicked him and they began to fight again. The victim said he bit the suspect.
A witness said he saw the man and woman run to an apartment. The officers found blood, probably from the biting, on the floor outside the apartment. The investigation and search for suspects is continuing.
And finally …
ROAD RAGE!!!
I guess it’s that time but cases of aggressive driving and other road-rage incidents have increased lately. Driving in Atlanta is a nightmare. Look for a little article on that subject next week.
Have a great weekend.

PLEASE mention again the dangers of leaving one’s purse in a shopping cart. I see this so many times with older women and have, in fact, called it to their attention. ‘Tis the Season, or will be here sortly, when theft increases. You might suggest getting a “butt bag” to use…works for me when I am Christmas shopping and need both hands free. Also I see women with babies in strollers leaving their purses under or in the stroller….just don’t do it!!!!
Thanks…ya’ do good stuff here.

I had never experienced being angry while driving before moving to Atlanta. Then, on the news I started hearing about road rage and I thought there must be some really bad drivers out there if they get mad over nothing. Well, after driving in the ATL for six years I’ve encountered numerous people driving well under the speed limit, people stomping on their brakes in front of me for no apparent reason (no, I wasn’t tailgating), and people diving in front of me but refusing to step on the gas pedal as I was obviously driving faster than they were before they dove on front of me. Yes, I do get ticked off when I see ignorant drivers and it’s no wonder people get mad. However, I would never hurt anyone. I might, though, tell them, “Sorry about your . That gives a much better sense of relief than flipping people the bird.
Btw, if you want to drive like you have a sports car, then purchase a sports car and stop driving that massive load of crap you call an SUV like it’s a Miata. If you haven’t noticed, it’s not and you nearly take out everyone in the other lanes while you try to regain control of that stupid behemoth of a truck.

About purses and shopping carts. When I do put my purse in the shopping cart I put it in the “child’s seat”. Then I carefully take the seat belts and put them through my purse straps/handles several times. If anyone goes to grab my purse, they get the whole basket.
